Once my mom left my room I grabbed my phone and opened the notes app.
I started writing down ways to invite Lauren over without sounding like a fool.

I went through all the ways I typed down on my notes, weighing which ones I should eliminate;

1) Leave a note in her locker

Okay but that's sounds so fucking cliche, as if I'm admitting my long last crush on her. So that's a no no. Plus I don't even know what's her locker....Opps
So let's cross that one out.

2) send a text on her phone

Do I even have her phone number?

I closed the notes app and went to phone app. I searched through my contacts in the L section.

Okay so no Lauren, how amazing! Cross that one out too.

3) tell Ally to tell Lauren

Ally is so nice so she'll know how to do it. I'll keep that one in for now.

4) make a groupchat with the girls (Mani, Ally and Lauren) and act like I'm inviting over for casual dinner then say Mani and Ally had to cancel

Okay but then again I need her number which I don't have.

Sigh I'll cross that one too

5) let Mani work her magical stalking skills and find out who Lauren's friends are and tell them to tell Lauren

Okay that one is really smart imma keep it.

6)tell her I need help with homework and ask her if she can come over

I never asked her to do that before. I don't even know if she's even smart to begin with. So that's a no no too.

7) tell her like a normal person

Okay but like I am not a normal person. I am weird as fuck and I'm gonna make a mess.

Now that I crossed a bunch of them out, let's see the best options I got left;
3) tell Ally to tell Lauren
5) let Mani work her magical stalking skills and find out who Lauren's friends are and tell them to tell Lauren
7) tell her like a normal person

Sigh.

I'll call Mani and fill her in on what happened, than I'll see what she says about my options.

I picked up my phone and went to my history, which is pretty much consisting of 3 people.

I called Mani and waited for her to pick up.

"The fuck you want hoe, why're disturbing my eating time"

"Hello to you too mani"

"Yea yea, now what do you want"

"Shit went down- "You broke something in your house?"

"No, what? Where did you even get that from"

"You're always breaking something, whether it's your phone screen or your relationships"

"I've never even been in a relationship before, what the fuck are you even talking about?"

"Oh hoe I ain't talking about your romantic ones, I'm talking about friendships"

I rolled my eyes, even though I knew she isn't seeing me. "Hoe, don't roll your eyes on me! Now tell me what this call was made for"

I explained the series of events that went down in dinner then proceeded to tell her about the what happened in the notes app.

"Well well well, it all goes down to you needing something out of the "bad habit" I have. But look at you now"

"Mani, I'm being serious can you do it or not"

I heard her sigh throw the phone, "I'll see what I can do tonight and tomorrow morning Imma tell you"

I jumped happily "YES THANK YOU SO MUCH!"

"Yea yea I'm great I know, now get the fuck out of my face I wanna eat"

I ended the phone call happily, knowing that it will all go so great.

Little did I know what was gonna happen the next morning.

Next morning

I was waiting for Normani at her locker, anxious, wanting to know what has happened. The moment she saw me in her locker her face fell in defeat, admitting that she didn't find shit.

"I'm sorry Mila" I frowned the moment I heard that sentence. "You didn't find anything?" I said holding on to that thin layer of hope.

"Well, I actually didn't know how to spell her last name and there's a lot of Lauren's in the world," Normani replied to me as she opened her locker and took her books for her first class, "why did her parents have to choose such a generic name?"

"You seriously didn't know how to spell her name?"

"Bitch why're surprised? It's pronounced one way and written a totally different way!" Normani exclaimed, I sighed in response, "I'll check if Ally will agree to tell Lauren,"

"I heard my name!" Ally ran up to us, "what will I agree to?"

"Okay so, my parents somehow know that I'm "dating" Lauren and want me to invite her over" I try to quickly explain to Ally what happened as I run my hand through my hair, "so basically I'm too scared to tell her, so can you tell her instead?"

"Camila, you do realize that I have nothing to do with this. It should be you telling her, imagine how confused she'll be when I tell her that instead of you?" Normani nodded in agreement with Ally, "I guess I'll do it" I mumbled.

"Great! Good luck buddy!" Mani exclaimed and patted over my shoulder. She took Ally's hand and ran away from me.

I cursed myself for realizing what I put myself into. How the fuck am I gonna do this?

It's now the end of the school day, and I still haven't told Lauren yet. I attempted to tell her once, but I got too nervous and scared to ask her.

Flashback~

Lauren is sitting right next to me in the lunch table, and for the first time I notice that she actually does.

I opened my mouth trying to tell her, but my palms grew sweaty. I fidgeted with my fingers for a bit, then tried to wipe the sweat off my hands and into my jeans.

I licked my lips preparing myself for the embarrassment.

WAIT A SEC! What the fuck am I even gonna say to her. Shit. I didn't prepare a speech or anything what the fuck!

I giggled nervously even though no one at the table made a joke. The giggle interrupted Normani and Ally's conversation, the stared at me weirdly. And Normani made that what the fuck face, that I'm pretty sure everyone knows.

I let out another high pitched giggle without noticing.

Fuck. Fuck. Fuck.

Honestly fuck this! I'll tell her on text.

End of flashback~

Being the idiot person I am, I forgot that I don't have her number and now I have to tell her in person.

Apparently Lauren has World History right now. I'm waiting for her from across the corner to come out (hehe that double meaning though).

While I started day dreaming I noticed the raven-haired girl coming out of the classroom. I hid further more into the corner instead of going up to her.

Shit. I will lose her like this.

I started to slowly walking behind, as discreetly as possible. Soon she stopped in front of a locker, which I'm guessing is hers.

I read the locker's number hoping I'd remember it next time I need something from her.

Okay so it's 43. Remember that Camila its 43 (btw that's actually my locker's number).

Lauren opened up her locker and put her books back in it. She started packing her bag while I still stood there traumatized of what might happen next.

It's either now or never Camila! Okay maybe I should choose never. But I told my mom I'd tell her. Okay okay I gotta do this.

I walked up to Lauren and tapped on her shoulder, which startled her.

Fuck! I should've called her name instead.

She looked really surprised when she saw me. She zipped her bag and swung it over her shoulder. "Oh hi Camz!"

I fidgeted with my fingers repeating what happened in lunch today.

I coughed when I realized I still haven't answered her, "Hi" I waved my hand like an idiot in front of her and smiled. She looked slightly confused but went along.

Why am I like this?

"Soo... What's up?"

"Um okay... See here's the thing," why did I just say that, what thing do I need her to see.

She nodded encouraging me to continue, "so um... My mom...." I felt my tongue turn into stone suddenly, I couldn't let out a single word and stuttering.

"Yeah? Your mom? What's with with her?"

I tried swallowing the lump in my throat to continue the sentence. "So ah.. She found out..."

She nodded again, waiting for me to continue. "She found out....?" Her face still held a very confused state. Which I wouldn't blame her because I'm a mess.

I continued to play with my fingers, "that I'm dating you..." The moment I said those words I saw Lauren's face turn into pure horror as her posture stiffened. Is she okay?

"She just...wanted you to come over this Friday for dinner" I mumbled the last part.

"I can't hear you, can you raise your voice a bit"

"She wants you to come over this Friday for dinner," I said stuttering over the words and swallowing some letters, but I think she got it. Her face grew relaxed.

"Yeah sure I'll come over, tell her thank you for the invite," she smiled at me. Gosh, I never noticed the different shades of her eyes till now. Maybe it's because I was standing too close in front of her.

"Is that it?"

"Yeah that's it!" I said sped away from her and outside of the school.

Once I reached outside I let out a breath that I didn't know I was holding. That went horrible! But at least I told her.

Once my mom called me over for dinner, I happily announced to her that I told Lauren about the dinner this Friday. I expected her to be quite happy but that wasn't the case.

"Actually we have to cancel this Friday, can she come next week?"

"Cancel? What! Why?!" After all the horrible rollercoaster that happened in my brain for telling her this, and she wants me to go through it again?

"I'm sorry mija, but your dad has an important meeting dinner with the company and he wants us to be there too."

"But..."

My dad noticed the distraught look on my face, and decided to speak up, "why don't you invite her over to the meeting dinner?"

"Wouldn't that be weird though? It's your first time meeting her."

My mom cut my dad off before he starts speaking "what if she misbehaves or something Ale."

"Oh c'mon, I'm sure Camila isn't that bad at picking out her partner. I'm sure she chose someone good"

I picked off my food before starting to eat. The table grew silent after that, but my little sister started talking and blabbing about her day.

Once we finished eating my dad reminded me to tell Lauren about the change of plans then he went off to the living room to watch tv.

I went upstairs, upset over how I'm gonna tell Lauren this.

I jumped on my bed and screamed into my pillow hoping to relieve some stress.
