3rd Person POV

They got to John bs house as Kiara handed him the envelope and he sat down at the table staring at it as JJ made a sandwich

"That bread had mold on it three days ago" Pope informed JJ

" I'll just pull off the bad parts plus mold is good for you it's just a natural organism" JJ said and Via slapped her forehead

"it doesn't work like that" She said and Kiara called to him

"JJ!" She called and JJ walked over

"Yup , yup,yup! Hot damn! Let's do it!" Jj said and he hit into the sandwich as John b opened the envelope and pulled out a map

"Holy shit!" He said and pope pointed at the x

"Look. X marks the spot" He pointed out and Via leaned her arm on jjs shoulder as she leaned over to look at the map with them

"Longitude, latitude. Wait, there's something else in here" he said and he pointed out a voice recorder

"What's that?" Jj said and via said

"It's a tape recorder J" She told him and John b clicked it on hearing his fathers voice

"Dear bird" it started and via shook her head

"Who's bird?" JJ asked and Via pointed at John B

"He's bird" she said and confined to listen to the tape

"I hate to say, I told you so, but I told you so. And you doubted your old man. I suspect at this moment , you're filled with guilt and self-loathing over our last fight, but don't kill yourself just yet, kid. I didn't expect to find the merchant either. You were probably right to call me put. Wasn't exactly father of the decade . What can I say, kid. I could smell the brain. And hopefully, we're listening to this in our brand new sugar Shack down on Costa Rica, livin off passive investment and pulling in permits. If not, and you find this for less than optimal reasons, well thats what the maps for. There she is, the wreck of the merchant. If something happens to me, finish what I started. Go for the gold , kid. I love you, bird. Even if I didn't always act like it. I'll see you on the other side" that's what the tape said

"John b" Via started and he shook his head standing up holding his head between his hands

"Holy shit, he did it. Big John he found the merchant" Jj started and via stopped him

"J please just don't" she said and walked over to him as she turned him around and he wrapped his arms around her holding tightly. She let him cry into her shoulder as she rubbed the back of his head comforting him. Once he was done crying , she pulled away and wiped the tears

"Are you okay?" She whispered and he nodded

"It's okay not to be" she said and he nodded

"I know V" he said and let go of her as she let go of him and he walked out with the others following behind him. Kiara grabbed her ukulele and Via started humming

"How much was it again?" Jj asked and Via stopped humming as Kiara stopped playing

"5 hundred mill" Pope said and Via whistled lowly

"All right, let's talk the split. Now before we say evenly, may I remind you that I am the only one that can properly defend us from those groupers who were after us. Protection, not cheap okay" JJ explained and Via smacked her forehead

"You haven't trained" Pope said and Via pointed her to him agreeing

"YouTube , bro. That's at least a five perfect bump right there. Any objections I don't think so" JJ kept interrupting pope

"Me , I object JJ" Via said and Kiara raised her hand in agreement

"What are you gonna do with your 100 mil, pope?" Kiara asked him and they all looked at him

" pay for college in advance. And also, textbooks, those are expensive. What about you, kie? What does a socialist do when she's rich?" Pope asked and before Kiara could answer Via spoke.

"I like your answer pope, chase that dream don't let us stop you" She stated and he smiled at her

"Anyways, I just wanna make a double album. About OBX, the pogues. You know the way catch a fire is about Kingston. Record it at Marley studio, peter tosh producing" Kiara exclaimed

"Peter tosh is dead" Kie and pope said at the same time

"I know but spirit of peter tosh will never die" Kiara said and drank her beer

"Agreed, you jj?" Via asked

"I'm gonna get a big ass house on figure eight and go full kook. Gonna get a marble statue of myself and then I'm gonna get a koi pond. Put a bunch of those fish" JJ explained

"I'm never visiting" Kiara said

"What are you gonna do V?" Pope asked and she smiled at him thinking

"Help people out. The cut needs so much help and I want to be able to help them you know. Give it to charity, help people rebuild their houses, try to get part of the cut energy and generators to keep the power on. Feed people, get people in homes. What ever is left goes to food for us and well whatever I want to do with it" Via explained with the brightest smile on her face as they watched in happiness

"What about you JB?" Via asked John b

" I agree with JJ, to going full kook" John b said and they all smiled raising their beers

"To going full kook" they all said in agreement and then via looked at her watch seeing the time

"Oh shit Kie we have to go" Via said and Kie nodded as she smiled at the others and via hugged John b one last time

"Bye boys" Via called over her shoulder as she ran to her and kies bikes as they road home. Via went to her room and through off her Jean shorts and put her hair up taking off her multiple pieces of jewelry until her phone rang and she looked down as she was brushing her teeth to see cat calling her and she answered

"Kit-Cat. What's up?" Via said with her mouth full of toothpaste

"I know about John b and Kie" Cat said and Via stopped brushing her teeth

"What?" Via asked

"I know they kissed. Kie told me" Cat stated

"Oh cat I'm so sorry" Via tried

"I'm not even mad about it though, so what's going on with you and Sarah?" Cat asked and Via changed the subject with her

"Nothing much, her and topper are still together but you know flirting her and there" Via said as a light hue grew on her cheeks

"And how does Kiara feel about this?" Cat asked

"She um , she doesn't know yet" Via said and Cat drew in a breathe

"She doesn't?! You have to tell her V" Cat exclaimed

"I know and I will when I know what's really going on, I swear" Via said

"Fine but it better be soon. Now go to be , I'll see you soon" Cat said

"Night Kitty" Via said and cat chuckled as she ended the call. Via stopped brushing her teeth and she climbed into bed. She fell asleep and the next morning she woke up to Kiara knocking at her door

"Hey John b wants to meet at the wreck, get up" Kiara exclaimed and via sat up rubbing the sleep from her eyes, she got up out of bed and she got dressed putting her rings and jewelry back on. She slipped on her converse and headed out to the car with Kiara .

Kiara got in the passenger seat and Via got in the front as she drove to the wreck and parked. They got out of the car and went to the dock as she saw the boys show up

"It's my favorite" JJ said and Via smiled

"HA! I win" Via said and Jj chuckled as he helped her and Kie onto the boat , they started driving until jj spoke

"You guys see that? That's a malibu 24-MXZ, the worlds finest wakesetter. Number one in luxury, quality and performance. 200k, easy" JJ explained

"We picked the wrong parents" Pope said and Via narrowed her eyes at him

"How the fuck?" She asked

"I hate to break it to you guys, but that's topper and his girlfriend" Kiara said as she looked at via

"Also known as topper and Vias ex girlfriend" JJ said and Via sighed

"Can we not?" She said as they drove past

"You don't have act like you don't see us, bitch" Kiara called and Sarah made eye contact with via

"What's on with you too?" John b asked her and she shook her head

"I have no idea anymore JB" she stated and they turned driving back to John bs house as they got into the car and drove to the country club

"Now what the hell are we doing here?" Via asked

"Professional busboy and all. We're getting on the internet because only rich people have electricity right now" JJ said and they walked into the club through the kitchen with JJ leading them

"Mama L, good to see you" JJ exclaimed and went to grab a piece of shrimp

"Hey, no. JJ!" She said and slapped his hand as they continued walking and then into the computer room

"Sweet lord, the internet!" Pope said

"Let me get in there, gotta check out my insta models" JJ said as pope sat down

"We don't have time" Kiara stated

"Yeah and why do you need them when you have 4 hot people next to you?" Via pointed out

"Hey! Hey! hey I got the map" John B exclaimed as he pulled it out of his bag

"Coordinates , please?" Pope asked and Via read them off

"34° 57', 30" north, 75° 55' 43" west" She listed off and pope typed them in and the computer zoned in

"Ok boom continental shelf right there" John B pointed

"Well, If it's off the deep end , there's not gonna be much of a treasure hunt , is it?" Pope said and Via took her hat off putting it on her head

"Come on, baby. Come on" JJ said as they zoomed in and heard voices outside

"Shit, it's on the high side. It's only 900 feet." John b said and via raised her eyebrows

"That's not too deep" JJ stated

" Is that doable or something?" Kiara asked

"It shouldn't be" Via said and they ignored her

"Yeah , totally doable" JJ exclaimed

"Okay. Will we be taking your personal submarine?" Pope asked

"How do you know this, mr. Dive master?" John b questioned

"The salvage yard they got a drone that can drop 1,000 . It has a 360 camera and everything. It's for like deep dives and stuff. It's exactly what we need" JJ explained

" and can your dad get his grimy little hands on that?" John b asked

"Didnt your dad get fired?" Via asked

"Yeah my dads grimy little hands got his ass fired . I guess The salvage Captain frowns on showing up shitfaced, turns out But the drones there. It's in the impound yard outback" he told them

" How much did you say was on the royal merchant again?" Kiara said and a smile grew on Vias face

" 500 mil" Via, John b and Jj said together

" $500 million dollars" Kiara said and they all stood up as Kiara went and shoved pope out of the way of the door

" Can we do anything legal for money?" Pope asked as they walked out

" No pope, we're pogues. Let's go" Via told him and she walked out with pope.

This couldn't end good, right?
