Chapter Four
Probably the best idea

3rd Person POV

They drove the road with Via sitting next to JJ on the floor and looking at pope

"I mean it's obvious, right? A family heirloom, what better place to hide a message? He had to know it would get back to me, right?John B asked

"Yeah , it's possible"Kiara told him and Via sighed

"It's also possible that you're concocting wild theories to help, you know deal with your sad feels" Pope exclaimed and Via shook her head

"You know how I process my sad feels? dank bugs and the stickiest of ickies" Jj stated and Via giggled

"I just have sex with girls" Via said straight out and JJ leaned forward high fiving her

"Yeah we know V. Especially your ex girlfriends" Kiara said and Via scoffed

"Okay we'll talk about this later" Via said and Kiara was now the one to scoff

"I'm not concocting, okay? My dads trying to give me a message" John B interrupted

"If it helps you believe, John b" Kiara sighed and Via ran a hand through her hair

"Look I-I don't need a therapy session, okay? I'm not trippin out" John S stated

"It's okay to trip bro but" Jj started but John b interrupted again

"Look my-my dad is missing,okay? Missing. You don't Know what it's like to have the person closest to vanish and then have no idea what happened. Just wake up every morning wondering." John b told them

" It's been almost a year" Kiara told him. JJ and Pope started to joke or make better of them situation but it wasn't helping

" Look what do you think the message is?" Via asked

" Brookfield. Redfield lighthouse that's my dad's favorite place." John b said as they drove in and parked. Via got out with JJ and pope. They looked at the lighthouse and then at each other

" Right here's what's gonna happen. You're gonna post up and look out for bogeys, okay?" John b told JJ

" Wait why me?" Jj asked

" Because you're not coming" Pope stated

" Why?" Jj asked

" Look JJ there are independent and there are dependent variables and you're an independent variable we don't know what you'll do" Pope started

"SHUT UP!" Jj yelled

"Listen to me for a second. Pope You stay and look at with JJ if we get split up we meet back at jjs house via you say with them because obviously if anything happens you're the protector besides JJ" John b said

" Fine by me" Via said and climbed back into the car , she looked down and saw her phone light up as her data was running. JJ climbed into the car with her and looked at her phone

" so what's going on with you and Sarah?" Jj asked her and she shook her head

" Nothing I mean come on her and Topper are still together and I don't know Jay obviously we weren't it's all a little bit weird" Via told him

" But you said you loved her?" JJ exclaimed and Via shrugged

" I know but I don't I don't know what it is I don't know if I love her or if I'm confused , But I do know that I care about her" Via stated and JJ smiled at her

" Well that's enough for you via" he said and she shoved his shoulder as he chuckled

" So what about you and pope?" Via asked and Jj snapped his head up to her

" Me and Pope?What about me and pope?" JJ questioned

" Wow you are as bad as I am at denying anything" Via exclaimed and he shook his head

" You know me V don't know what I want and that scares me" he told her

" I know but does anyone know what they want anymore?" She asked and he chuckled

" No I don't think so" he stated

" JJ are those? are those sirens?" Via asked and JJ looked at her and pope

" Pope get in now!" via yelled at him and he climbed in as via started the car and drove out leaving her sister and John b. She went a different way from the cop car and parked somewhere as she took a breathe with pope

" Holy shit that was insane" Jj said and via nodded

" I just left my sister behind" via exclaimed softly and JJ turned to her and wrapped his arms around her. She hugged him back and then she let go

" Take a minute V" he said and she got out of the drivers seat and JJ got in as she looked out the window. She felt her phone vibrate and saw that it was Chris. She answered the call

" What the fuck do you want?" She asked and he chuckled

" You can't get rid of me V you know that" he told her and she chuckled in return

" No but I can sure as hell make sure that you end up behind bars" she retorted and ended the call tossing her phone into her lap.

"Chris?" Jj asked her and she nodded

"Who even is Chris?" Pope asked her and she sighed

"A crazy ex boyfriend I hope you never have to talk to" Via exclaimed and Pope nodded at her words

"Everyone else has met him though?" Pope questioned

"Yeah but because of the worst circumstances" Via stated and pope nodded as JJ pulled up to Vias house and she got out

"Be safe V" he told her and she nodded

"You too J" she said and grabbed her backup from the backseat as she grabbed her phone and walked inside and to her room

"Hey v can I come in?" Kiara asked her and she sighed

"Yeah come in" Via exclaimed and kiara opened the door as she walked in and sat on Vias bed

"John b kissed me" Kiara blurted and via put down her book

"Wow I wasn't expecting that, why what happened?" Via asked and Kiara started to explain

"What do I do V?" Kiara asked and she shrugged

" I don't know Kie , what ever you think is right" V said and Kiara shrugged

"I'm going to sleep on it" Kiara said and she leaned in hugging via as she hugged her back and Kiara walked out closing the door behind her as via laid down and fell asleep

The next day , she woke up and got dressed and her dad drove her and kiara to work. Once they got there, they started to work until John B, Jj and pope got there

Pope walked in and tried to talk to Kiara but she ignored him and he walked back out , then John b walked in and started to talk to kie , after a while kiara smiled , kissed John bs cheek and smiled

"Let's go Vi" John b called to her and she nodded as she put down her stuff and followed them , she climbed in and was tackled by Jj

"It's been too long" he whispered and she chuckled as she shoved him off of her

" Do you mind if I just relax on this one it's been a long day and a lot of weird stuff has gone down I'm just gonna lay low oh do you want to hit of us?" JJ exclaimed and he held the blunt out to pope

" I like to keep the signal clear" Pope said and via pointed at him

" Probably the best idea" Via exclaimed

" Dude OK you know what your problem is that you don't get creative if your creative than" Jj said but he was interrupted

" Look I I know I was wrong about the lighthouse right and wrong about everything else going on but I was right about one thing okay my dad is trying to tell me something" John b said and they pulled up to a graveyard

" No man I don't fuck with graveyards" Via said and they looked at her

" V come on" Pope tried

" Pope it's not gonna work she's had a graveyard since I don't know when but don't try" Kiara said and they all sighed as they got out of the car without via

" Lock the doors" John b said and she nodded as she rolled down the window and locked the doors once they walked away. She waited and then she heard the ringtone she set up for Sarah and answered it

" Hey Butterfly" Sarah said and Via smiled

" Hey dandelion what's up?" Via asked

" Apparently I got john b fired but I don't know how I would do that" Sarah started

" Wait so John b gave me the key to get into the boat right?" Via exclaimed

" Yeah so" Sarah waited

" Wheezie knows that John B gave me a key because how else would I be on the boat?" She said

" But she didn't know you were on the boat" Sarah told her

" She did she was there" Via said and Sarah scoffed

" And you didn't tell me?" Sarah asked

" I didn't think it was needed" Via said and Sarah sighed

" So John bs mad at me for basically no reason?" Sarah questioned and via through through it

" Well if you didn't tell her and she was there who would she have told?" Via questioned

" Well topper was there yesterday" Sarah said and via sighed

" Fucking topper" Via said and she saw lights outside of the car and unlocked the doors

" Hey sar I got to go but I'll talk to you later" via exclaimed

" OK bye" Sarah said as the others got in the car and sat down. Via started the car and drove off with them.
