Afterdeath - Bite of Life

Requested by britneyzwolfie

AN: Hope you like it, I tried to go with a formula I have not seen before. I'm rather pleased with the result, even of all my ideas did not make it in.

If anyone had asked Geno if he believed things like vampires and werewolves existed in reality he would have smacked them on the head and told them not to be stupid. Thinks like those didn't exist, they were nothing but myth.

At least that would be what he would have reacted had anyone asked him that the week before, before his life got turned around. As it was now his small country hotel had a freeloading guest to prove that at least one of those things where real. If it had been only an ordinary monster Geno would have thrown the freeloader out on the first day, but as his unwanted quest was a vampire Geno tried hard to refrain from doing so.

He did not want to know what would happen if the other, going by the name Reaper of all things, decided to drink his blood. Especially as Geno was one of the few skeleton-monsters that actually produced blood. That is to say not provoking Reaper in any way was easy, the fact that the other flirted with him constantly tempted him on more then one occasion to throw caution to the wind and just hit  the bastard in the face.

It did not help that the vampire also were the only visitor at his establishment at the moment, so he could not even use the excuse of having to tend to other quests in order to escape him. While Geno could reluctantly accept that Reaper was attractive and under different circumstances he might have expressed some interested in dating the guy. Reapers attitude and the fact that he was a vampire made dating him very unappealing.

Geno had spent hours to trying to find a way to get out of this situation without getting sucked dry but could not for the life of him figure something out. At the moment he where alone, which he was grateful for, as Reaper had retired to the room on the second floor that he had occupied the entire week.

"RIIING~~"

The loud ring of the bell placed at the entrance startled Geno out of his thought and he quickly rushed to the reception to welcome the new arrival. At the same time the hotel owner thanked whatever god was out there that he finally had someone else then Reaper around.

"Hello, what can I help you with?"

The new guest was a skeleton monster just like Geno himself, and Reaper. He just hoped this one did nit turn out to be a vampire as well, even if the slightly purple skin tone was rather strange.

"I'm just here for a meal."

The strangers voice was raspy and Geno had to leaned over the counter to hear him.

"Oh, do you want me to get you a menu, we don't have anything fancy but maybe you will find something you like."

Geno was still leaning over the counter, waiting for a response.

"There is no need, I know exactly what I want."

Before Geno had a chans to react, the stranger draged him over the counter and restrained him so he could not get out of the others grip.

Geno only completely comprehended the information when he felt a warm breath against his neck. He found it hard to breath as his captor put presure on his throuth. Black spots entered his vision as he felt something sharp brush against his shoulder.

'A vampire, it just had to be another vampire.'

The realization made Geno panic even more. He had been fearing being bitten by a vampire the hole week and now it was really happening, and it was not even Reaper. For a moment Geno wished it was Reaper that was on his way to drinking his blood and not this complete stranger, at least he new Reaper.

As soon as the thought entered his mind he dismissed it. What did it matter if it was Reaper or not, he would get drained of his blood by a vampire regardless. He really hated how he was one of the few skeleton monsters that actually produced blood, especially as it was what would now get him killed.

The black spots in his vision grew larger and Geno could feel how he began to lose his grip of reality. But just before he finally went unconscious he thought he could feel something freeing him from the strangers grip.

Then it all went black.

***

When Geno regained his grip on reality and woke up, he was greeted by non other then Reaper.

The vampire was leaning against the heck out counter and was covered in blood. Geno wondered who's blood it was, was it Reaper's? The wound in the others shoulder looked really bad so some of the blood had to be his.

Just then Geno remembered what exactly happened and turned his head from where he was lying on the ground, trying to see any signs of the vampire that attacked him.

"He fled, coward was to afraid to keep fighting me once I got a good hit in. Though, he got e pretty good too."

Reaper chuckled. Geno turned to stare on his only guest in surprise. Reapers voice was much less melodious then it had been all those times when the vampire had flirted with him, it was more rough now. Geno found himself liking this voice a lot better, it had a more honest feel to it.

Even so, he could not help but ask about it.

"What happened to your voice?"

This time it was Reaper's turn to look surprised.

"You ask me that of all things in a situation like this?"

The response only made Geno glare at him in irritation. It was not really his fault that he had yet  to fully grasped the situation, his head was still working on starting up again from having been deprived of air.

"Oh well, if you want to now why, it is because this is my real voice. The one I used before was my charm speak."

Reaper took a deep breath and smiled slightly.

"You are the only mortal I have meet that did not fall for it immediately. I used it on you for a week and I was still not able to ensnare you. Though, I do love you're reaction to it."

'Charm speak?'

A realization hit Geno like a brick, Reaper had pretty much done everything he could to try to seduce him. Although the idea of the other using charm speak on him did not sit entirely well with Geno, the fact that the other liked anything about him made him blush.

But then another thought struck him.

"Is that why you saved me? Another attempt to seduce me?"

Geno dreaded the answer but Reaper only chuckled weakly.

"Maybe? The thought of that did not really enter my mind, I only acted."

The two fell silent. Geno reluctantly dragged himself up from the floor into a sitting position, still watching Reaper.

"Heh, no matter the reason it does not matter now, I'll bleed out in a few minutes anyhow,."

Reaper's tone was low and if not for the complete silence around them Geno would not have been able to hear him.

"What are you talking about? Can't vampires heal themselves, or is that just a myth?"

"We can heal ourselves, but only while feeding. And I'm in no shape to hunt."

Reaper close his eyes and his breath grows shallower.

Geno weigh his options for a moment before he dragged himself over to Reapers side and held out his left are to Reapers mouth.

"Then take some of my blood."

Geno looked away as he said it, rather embarrassed. As such he did not see Reapers chocked face at his offer.

"Are you sure?"

Reaper's tone trembled.

"Of course I'm sure. What kind of person would I be if I let my rescuer die on me."

As if to emphasize his words the hotel owner pretty much shoved his arm in the others face.

"Just don't drink enough to kill me instead."

Reaper could hear a little bit of fear in those  words, but he could not hold it against Geno. The fact that he was offering his blood to him after such a traumatizing incident was impressive enough. Geno was truly a one of a kind. Reaper would like to learn more about this one.

"Fine then, and thank you."

With those words Reapers sank his fangs into Geno's arm, the hotel owner gasping a little in pain as the fangs pierced his bone. As he drank the blood Reaper could barely hold in a satisfied moan, this was definitely the most delicious blood he had tasted. But following Geno's request, he din only drink as much as he had to. When he felt all his wounds heal themselves he removed his fangs from Geno's arm, looking at the hotel owner. Geno looked slightly dazed.

Reaper chuckled.

"Maybe I should stay and protect you from other vampires."

"If you are going to stay, you better earn your keep. I'm running a business not a charity."
