One By One

???
???'s POV

My eyes fluttered open. I shot up, looking around at the blank concrete room. There were a few other people, none that I recognized.

I sat against a random pillar in the corner while everyone else woke up. Where are we? I don't remember anything happening...

"Who the hell are all of you?" A girl hissed.

"That's a good question, who are you people and where the hell are we?" A boy asked groggily.

Debate broke out between a few of us, while the rest either looked around for an escape or kept quiet. Finally, I spoke up.

"Hey! We're all curious here, maybe even scared. How about we introduce ourselves? I'll start, my name is Kinzy." I stood up, speaking loud enough to be heard clearly.

The aggressive girl scoffed, "Pini, next."

"John." A voice said from the ground, belonging to a male who refused to get up.

"My name is Alpy, nice to meet you!" Another girl smiled wide.

"I'm Enillet, please refer to me as neither female nor male." The only one to be looking around commented from one of the walls.

There was a window and clock, so for the rest of the day we discussed anything that came to mind. Favorite animals, favorite meals, silly memories, anything and everything.

3rd POV

What seemed like just a few days passed by. In reality, it had been nearly a year since the group woke up in the strange concrete box. Each morning and night, food was placed in side of their room when none of them were looking.

Occasionally, they'd wake up with board games or cards in the room. Other days they talked and entertained each other however they could.

As a group, they had grown close. By being in the same room, (there was a side room for a bathroom and clothing don't worry) they acted like they had known each other their whole lives.

Exactly a year later, and a man stood in a doorway that seemingly appeared overnight.

???
Enillet's POV

I sat up slowly, checking for any of my companions in case they were awake. Looking around, I noticed that breakfast was missing.

Odd. No matter what, there's always food waiting for us... I thought.

"Enillet Burgans, a pleasure to meet, well, see you."

I whipped around, finding a door that was never there. A man stood in the doorway, staring me down.

I stood up and walked over to him. Slow, heavy steps. If I were going to protect myself and friends, I'd have to be as intimidating as possible.

"Who are you?" I growled.

"Call me Sir Smit, I'll be your executioner." He smirked darkly.

"Executioner? What do you mean?" I glared, hard.

His smirk widened and he slammed some metal against the wall, waking everyone up.

"Rise and shine! You've been together for a year, so you should be as close as best friends by now." He chuckled.

"Who the hell are you?! What do you want with us?" Pini barked.

"Ah yes, I guess you wouldn't know." He sighed.

He walked in and closed the door, which then faded into the wall like it was never there.

"You shall call me Sir Smit, and you, are all sinners. You've committed a sin that has landed you here, at your execution. This is where you shall play a game for your last moments." He snapped his fingers.

At the sound, my mind went blank and I walked to the middle of the room. Everyone followed, their eyes dull and glazed over, relaxed yet tense. As soon as we were sat down and snapped out of it, we couldn't move.

The man, Sir Smit I suppose, continued, "The aim of the first game is that I will spin the bottle. Whoever it lands on will be forced to drink it. If they refuse, the person on the other side of the bottle drinks it instead."

The door reformed and he walked out, waving with a quick 'good luck!~'

Now, a bottle appeared and spun. Spinning, spinning, spinning. You could feel the anxiety crash down on all of us. This might be our final day. We choose each other's fates. We're going to die. We thought.

The bottle stopped.

My breath hitched and stayed in my throat. Oh my god, I was going to be the first death. I couldn't talk, I couldn't decline, I couldn't do anything as my own body reached for the bottle.

Hot tears sprung into the corners of my eyes and flowed down my face. I took the bottle and drank it.

"Hey. I love you guys, alright?" I smiled.

I didn't hear any responses, white hot pain coursed in my veins as soon as I got my final words out. I felt my mouth open, but I couldn't hear. I didn't even feel my body hit the ground and blood spill from every hole in my face.

3rd POV

The other four friends cried heavily as they heard Enillet scream in pain. They watched their body fall back, eyes rolled to the back of their head. Blood gushed out from every possible hole in their face.

Then, the body dissolved into dust.

"Alllright! First one down, another round before we have our next game!~" The man's voice echoed through the room.

"MONSTER! HOW THE HELL COULD YOU FIND ENJOYMENT IN THIS SICK SHIT?!" Pini screamed.

There was no answer, the bottle spun again.

Kinzy made no attempt to decline or refuse, and swallowed the poison.

"Love you guys! I'll miss you, Pini." She smiled at her crush.

Kinzy repeated what Ellinet had done just a few minutes before. A scream of pain before she was on the ground, gushing blood, and her body dissolved.

"Next game! This one has a gun instead. There are no options for this one! Whoever is picked by the barrel will be shot by whoever is picked by the hilt!" Sir Smit cheerfully announced, "Have fun! Whoever is last will be set free, by the way!"

With tears still present, the remaining three watched a gun appear in the middle of them. The gun began to spin.

The barrel landed on Pini, and the hilt pointed to Alpy.

"Pini, I'm so sorry." Alpy sobbed as she reached for the gun.

Suddenly, Pini grabbed the gun and pointed it at Alpy.

"I'm getting out of here no matter what! I'm not going down because of whatever the hell this is!" Pini yelled.

The gun went off, and Alpy's body dissolved into the ground.

"Pini..." John began.

She merely placed the gun back.

"Pini, you absolute SON OF A BITCH!" John screamed.

The gun spun.

As soon as it stopped, John was screaming curses and vulgar language at the other survivor. He reached for it, he wasn't going to let the barrel of a damn gun kill him!

Pini got to it first, and she was the last one left.

"I'm the last survivor, now let me out." She growled.

A door appeared, with Sir Smit waiting just outside with his hand held out. Pini stood and walked over, taking his hand.

Seconds later, Pini's scream was the last sound the concrete room heard. It's next batch would be here soon.

Well that was eventful.
