"We still haven't manage to catch, Victoria so we called in some help." Edward explained to Bella as he opened the door to the manor for her, closing it behind them.
"Aren't the wolves already helping?" She asked as she worried the end of her sleeve in a nervous manner. She hated that everyone was putting themselves in danger for her, and wished she hadn't caused so much trouble.
"Yes, well. We've called in more, professional, assistance." Bella didn't miss the drip on the word 'professional', his distaste for the Pack, evident as always. They walked up the floating staircase to the living area.
"Another Vampire?" Bella asked as she looked up at Edward, as he guided her forward with his ever present hand on the small of her back.
"Not exactly."
"Edward." The happy and easy going greeting met the pair, as Bella looked into the living room to see all of the Cullen's in various lounging positions, Rosalie and an unfamiliar woman, sitting on the couch together.
"Hey Connie. Good to see you." Edward replied with a smile, as he made his way to her, leaving Bella in the doorway, as Connie stood to greet him with a hug.
"You too. You haven't aged a day." Connie cast the same joke she always did when she hadn't seen them for a while, and tousled his hair. Edward smiled fondly at their family friend, before turning to Bella as she stood awkwardly in the entryway.
"Bella, this is Constance Mathers, she's a Hunter." Edward introduced the pair. "Connie, this is Bella Swan." (IYKYK Lol)
"His girlfriend." Emmett chimed in with a cheeky grin. Edward set him with a glare, as Rosalie suddenly looked very annoyed and rolled her eyes. Connie ignored both reactions and moved to shake her hand.
"Nice to meet you Bella." She said, tilting her head as she smiled, her long, blonde, high, pony-tail, falling to the side with the action.
"Ah, thanks." Bella awkwardly replied as Connie let her go. "So, you're a Hunter?" Bella asked as she began to fiddle with her sleeve again. Connie nodded.
"Yup. I hunt supernatural creatures for a living. Metaphorically of course, it doesn't actually pay." She said as she rolled her eyes. Constance had long dirty blonde hair, and brown eyes. She was a little on the taller side, perhaps almost six foot, and she was lean, not all that soft or feminine in figure, more athletic with sharper features. She was pretty, like the kind of girl you might see in a surf magazine, with sun kissed skin, and a board under her arm. Instead she was, indeed tanned, but wore more appropriate attire for the little rainy town of Forks. Black jeans, pink gumboots, a black knit sweater, and a pink spray jacket.
Bella looked between the Cullen's, and Connie, in clear confusion. Constance chuckled a little.
"I only hunt dangerous creatures, killers. I've known the Cullen's for seven years now." She explained, as she pat Bella's shoulder in gentle comfort, acknowledging her confusion.
"So you're human? And you can help us catch, a Vampire?" Her trepidation was evident, but so was her nerves, so Connie didn't take the comment to heart, but instead shook her head 'no'.
"Not technically human. Hunters are a special enhanced group of humans, plus my mother was a Witch, so I'm also half Witch." The blonde explained with a shrug. "Though I'm not all that good with the spells and such." She added.
Rosalie sighed in annoyance, before standing, and speeding to Connie's side.
"Com'on Con, I'll show you around town. It's been so long since we saw each other, I wanna chance to catch up, before we kill Victoria, and you leave again." Rosalie complained, as she wrapped her arms around the taller girls left. Connie put a hand over Rosalie's, and grinned.
"Actually, about that. I'm taking some holiday time. I'm here for a few weeks." Rosalie's face lit up, and then she was hugging the Hunter in a blink, as she laughed, and Alice giggled as she joined their hug.
"We should go out and celebrate." Rose suggested as she looked between Alice and Connie. The blonde nodded in agreement, as Alice disappeared, returning a moment later with their handbags, and the keys to Alice's car.
"Who's driving?" She asked with a grin. Jasper shook his head at the women's antics, and left with Emmett to find something to do while they were gone. Esme chuckled, as Carlisle smiled at the joy their friend brought to the home.
"Take Bella with you." Edward stated more than asked. He wanted her to get out and enjoy herself, but she didn't really have any friends, and was too busy worrying about Victoria to make any. This way she could go out and have fun, while remaining safe.
"No." Rosalie glared at Bella as she remained with her arms wrapped around her bestfriend. Connie looked between the pair, as Alice's face dropped at her sister's distaste of the poor human girl.
"Com'on Rosie, it'll be fun. The more the merrier." She gently pulled from Rosalie's arms, and moved to link an arm through one of Bella's instead.
"Of course you're coming with."

osalie huffed, for what felt like the hundredth time, and Connie rolled her eyes at her with a smile
"Com'on Rose. She's not all that bad. A bit boring, sure. Kinda shy, yeah. But other then that she's perfectly nice." Constance tried to sway her friends, seemingly, deep rooted hate, as they walked arm in arm down the side walk, Alice and Bella ahead of them, as Alice dragged them into every little store along the street.
"It's not that. She's human, she risks our family's safety by being around us, and has no respect for her mortal life!" Connie slid her arm from her friends as she gripped her hand instead and held it between them as she looked her in the eyes.
"I know you would give anything to be human again Rose, I do. But not everyone is the same. Don't you remember the way I was when we first met. I was ready to end it all. Life meant nothing to me, but you helped me see the value of it, and with the help of you, and my family, I got better, and I learnt how to cope. And now I have a feeling of belonging, of purpose." Constance spoke softly as they entered the little store, half-heartedly looking through the handmade clothes, as they spoke quietly.
"Maybe she doesn't feel that belonging, that sense of purpose. The ordinary human life's not for everyone. But that doesn't make anyone else's opinion less-" She waved her hand, searching for the correct word.
"Right?" Rosalie sighed, as they linked arms again, and followed Alice and Bella back out of the store.
"Hey look. It's Jacob and the others." Bella's comment caught the other pair's attention, as the four girls all looked across the road, to the Fish and Chip shop, where a group of tanned and toned boys stood waiting for their food. Connie tilted her head slightly.
"Wolves." She stated as her gut twisted a little, as it always did upon encountering a supernatural creature.
"They really aren't like other Werewolves." Connie voiced her mild surprise with an obvious hint of excitement.
"You should introduce me Bella." She added as she smiled at Bella, the nervous brunette's brows rising in surprise.
"Ah, okay." She stuttered out, as unsure as always.
"I'd rather you didn't." Rosalie said, as she looked up to Connie with a grunt, slightly tightening her grip around the young Hunter.
"You can stay here." Constance said in a placating tone. Very unlike her usual self, Rosalie relented. She always did when it came to Connie, they understood each other, and were too close for Rose not to trust and respect her.
"I'll stay too." Alice said through a forced smile, her cringe at the sight of the wolves, barely hidden. The blonde smiled at the pair before linking arms with Bella, and leading her across the street, and towards the group of tanned males. They were all dark haired and good looking, with cropped cuts, and tanned skin, wearing denim shorts, with varied t-shirts, and no shoes. Bella awkwardly approached the group, with Connie still linked at her elbow. One of the younger looking one's, was the first to notice her.
"Bella!" His face lit up, and Bella pulled from the Hunter, as he quickly cut through his Pack to the brunette, sweeping her up in a hug.
"Hey Jake." She said softly into his shoulder, before they finally pulled apart. Stepping back, and awkwardly fixing her hair away from her face again, Bella remembered the girl behind her.
"Ah, Jacob, this is Constance Mathers." Bella said stiffly, as the rest of the Pack gathered around to see the new girl. Connie gave a genuine smile and waved.
"Hi, call me Connie." Constance said in way of greeting. The boys all gave a smile and greeting of their own.
"Nice boots." One of the boys jabbed in a joking tone. Connie looked down at her bright, pink, gumboots, with a smile.
"Thanks. I also have blue ones with duckies on them." She stated proudly as she shrugged, and the boys couldn't help but chuckle at her reply.
"He was making fun of you." Rose's voice came from behind her. The blonde had instantly sensed her presence, even if she hadn't, the stiffening and quiet growls of the wolves was sign enough.
"I know." Connie said lightly, as she glanced back at Rosalie, who was keeping her distance, Alice still remaining across the street.
"You're with them then?" One of the boys spat out. Constance looked back to the group, locking eyes with the one who'd spoken. His eyes widened, and his face slackened. A series of 'oh shit' s and 'you're joking right' rang through the group as she held the handsome man's eyes. He had an angular face and sharp jaw. He was one of the older two in the group.
"Yes, they're good friends of mine. But I'm not picky, I've got werewolf friends in other towns." Connie said with a shrug. That drew the oldest looking's attention.
"There are other's like us? In other towns?" Sam Uley asked, as he momentarily forgot about his Pack mate. Constance shook her head with a smile.
"No, none quite like you guys. But-" She was cut off when one of the wolves surged forward, and pulled her close to his chest, growling viciously at Rosalie.
"Woah! Hey, Paul." Sam quickly jumped between the pair and Rosalie, who was hissing back at the wolf, drawing unwanted eyes.
"Paul!" The tone of his Alpha was enough to at least catch his attention, but with his new found Imprint, now safely in his arms, and a Vampire standing so close, he was fighting his Alpha's call.
"She's not safe." He ground out between clenched teeth, a glare sharp enough to cut, was pinned on Rosalie. One arm was wrapped securely around Connie's waist, and the other was across her upper back, pressing her head gently into the crook of this, Paul, guy's neck.
Every part of her that pressed against him, was met with a strong warmth. The man was like a living furnace, which was kind of ironic considering she always seemed to run cold. In other words, if she had to be held to the chest of a stranger a few inches taller than her, she was at least grateful he was warm, gentle, and good looking. He smelt nice too.
"Paul, you need to let her go. You don't want to hurt her." Sam continued to use his Alpha voice, as Alice, who had quickly appeared at Rosalie's side (just in time to yank her back from attempting to kill Paul), held the blonde tightly.
Paul stiffened at the thought of hurting the perfect woman in his arms, his heart actually ached at the mere mention of the idea. Slowly he slid his arms back, just enough to ghost his lips along her cheek, before leaning his forehead against her's, his eyes tightly screwed shut as he tried to find the will power to leave her side. And in the hands of a bloodsucker no less.
Connie's eyes flickered between his closed ones, confused and unsure. Why was he doing this? What on Earth was going on? For someone who prided herself on her knowledge of the Supernatural, she suddenly felt way out of her depth, and she didn't know what to make of the knew feeling.
Paul's eyes slowly opened, and they met Connie's confused ones. He groaned as he took in her features. Big, soft, brown eyes, a straight Roman nose, plump lips, slightly parted in confusion. How he longed to capture them with his own, to drag her bottom lip between his teeth, and taste her.
In an instant he pulled away, and fled into the nearby woods.
"Take her back to mine." And Sam was gone after him.
