Percabeth stuck in an elevator
Annabeth had somehow convinced Percy to go shopping with her, as the other girls had been busy with demigod stuff. They got into the elevator and waited patiently, they'd been on a very high floor of the mall.
The elevator itself was made of glass and made for a perfect view outside. But not for Percy, son of Poseidon and all. Percy was panicking and looked away from the "pretty" view. Suddenly, the elevator stuttered to a stop.
Percy choked on his rapid breaths and said, "It stopped." He looked around, "Why did it stop?" He started hyperventilating, "Annabeth. Annabeth oh my gods-" Annabeth sighed and said soothingly, "Percy it's fine, we just have to wait for someone to come help us."
Percy acted like he hadn't heard her, "What if it catches on fire?? " Annabeth rubbed the bridge of her nose, "Percy, it's not going to catch fire, and even if it did, you're the son of Poseidon." She smiled, "Just stay calm."
Percy grinned nervously, "Right." His eyes darted, noticing that they were two stories up. "Calm," he said anxiously, "I can be calm." His breaths became rapid again, "It's not like I have ADHD or anything-"
Before Percy could continue, Annabeth cut in, "Hey! Maybe we can call Nico and he can shadow-travel us out of here!" Trying to be optimistic.
"Yeah," Percy said, suddenly sounding petulant and pouty, "That's a great idea." He stayed silent. He folded his arms against his chest but it made him look more like a mad toddler than a lean, good-looking guy.
"Except," he pouted even more, "He probably wouldn't bother helping us." He looked away, still looking like an overgrown child about to throw a fit, "Because."
Annabeth internally sighed, already knowing what was going to come next. She said it anyway, "Because why?"
Percy looked at her childishly, "BECAUSE I'M NOT HIS TYPE!" Percy looked so much like a little kid in a teen's body that she reached over the mountain of bags and patted his head. He gave her the "look." The one in which he looked like a baby seal, but now a pouty one.
Annabeth rolled her eyes chuckling, "I'll do it anyway. Can you make some mist?" Percy huffed but mumbled, "Fine." Annabeth fished a drachma from her pocket and tossed it into the mist provided by Percy.
She called Nico and he was playing chess with Will. The image gained sound just as Nico yelled triumphantly, "CHECKMATE!" Will groaned and put his head on the table. Nico did a little victory dance all the while Will studied the chessboard with an intensity that did not belong in this situation.
Annabeth interrupted with an amused tone, "Well, it looks like you've got your hands full Will. Mind if I borrow Nico for a bit, Percy and I are kinda in a situation right now." Will looked up and grinned, "Sure, what kind of situation by the way?"
Annabeth sighed and explained. Percy stuck is head in front of Annabeth's and said sassily, "And this was all Annabeth's idea. If it was for me, I could have waited. It's not like I'm afraid of heights or anything! And you probably don't wanna help us. Since I'M NOT YOUR TYPE OR ANYTHING." He humphed and stuck his head out again.
Annabeth gave Will an exasperated look and he gave her an amused one. He said, "Sure, it looks like you've got your hands full too."
Nico arrived shortly and grabbed their arms and shadow-traveled back. He gave them both amused looks and walked back to his cabin where Will waited for round two in chess.
