fyodor

you stood by the window, staring down at the marvellous city from your hotel window, smiling when you felt someone wrap their arms around your waist, kissing your shoulder. "do you believe in love at first sight?" you asked, your voice a relaxed whisper as your lover rested his chin on your shoulder.

"of course. being able to recognise and appreciate beauty is the epitome of human intellect, and those who don't believe in love at first sight are primordial beasts no better than the apes." you chuckled at his answer. "i'll show you true beauty, my pet, once we've cleaned all the filth from here."

"fyodor," you sighed, stroking his hand with yours, "i'm not sure if i can do what you ask of me." you shifted a bit, turning your gaze back to the wonderful yokohama skyline. "wiping the entire city will mean innocent people will die and i'm not strong enough to have that on my conscience."

fyodor straightened before walking around so he was in front of you. the city lights behind him gave him an ethereal glow, as though he was an otherworldly being. "my love, those people will die martyrs for a greater good, you mustn't worry for them."

"but fyodor—"

"do you not want to help me?" his dejected tone made your heart drop. you knew he had no ill intent behind what he was doing, he was just trying to create a better world, but his methods were drastic.

you held his head in your hands soothingly. "oh, darling, i do, but aren't there less—destructive tactics to get there?"

he leaned into your touch, his gorgeous amethyst hair framing his face beautifully. "i've tried, my pet, but i can't find any." he sounded sorrowful, and you let out a sigh. if there was another way, fyodor probably would have gone with that, and you were stupid for assuming not to. he moved towards you, kissing your crown. "'we two will sing like birds i'th'cage.'" he looked down at you with a smile. "my sweet little bird, have i caught thee*?"

you giggled. "you most certainly have," you purred and he kissed you chastely on your lips.

"the plan goes into affect tomorrow; i know you won't fail me, pet."

* 'have i caught thee' and similar sentiments were phrases used in courting during shakespearean england, which is why [name] isn't off put by it immediately
