The Story of the Red King
The Red King was a very powerful wizard and lived about a thousand years ago in Africa. After some time, he decided to move to England to start a family and to found an own kingdom.
On his way to England, he met the Knight of Toledo, a town in Spain. They became good friends and the Knight promised the Red King, that he could marry his beautiful daughter, Berenice. So the couple married and moved on to England.
There they founded a kingdom and soon got parents of nine children: Bortlath, Lilith, Amadis, Petrello, Guanhamara, Tolemeo and three more.
But as the time came to give birth to their tenth child, Berenice died, leaving her husband, their nine children and the new born daughter, Amoret, behind. As was customary in his home country, the Red King went in the forest, to mourn about his wife's death. Afterwards, he went and tried to fight the oppression in his kingdom.
After he did, what had to be done, he came back home, only to realise, that five of his children followed the evil wizard Lord Harken, a former admirer of Berenice, and used their magical power for murder and oppression. The other five, Amadis, Petrello, Guanhamara, Tolemeo and Amoret escaped and went to other countries.
The Red King was desperate because he didn't agree with his left children, but also didn't want to fight them. So, he went to his best friend, another wizard, to let himself transform into a tree. So he stood there, next to his castle, with the mission to protect the kingdom from his evil children.
Centuries later, a school was build on the ruins of this castle, to teach the legacies of the Red King. All of these legacies still inherited some of the power of the Red King, but it wasn't as powerful as his was.
The only problem was, that the school was owned by legacies of Bortlath, who were as evil as he himself was. They bullied the students, whose ancestors were the good children of the Red King and wanted to have the power over the whole country.
Generations of good legacies were to afraid to fight back, until a legacy of Amoret and his friends decided, that enough was enough. They fought back, and with the help of the Red Tree (aka the Red King), they succeeded. Amoret's legacy made them escape the country, only to find out, that he was the legal owner of the school.
Disclaimer: I don't own the story of the Red King, neither the books, he was introduced in. This is just a summary of all the information about the Red King.
Do you know which books I'm talking... eh I mean writing about?
