"We need to talk"

Tyler leaned against the doorframe, Mike sitting at the table with a laptop and some papers. Right now, while Mike was handling the bills and taxes, probably wasn't the best time, but Tyler couldn't handle this anymore. Onity was asleep before them for once, so it was now or never.

Mike leaned back from his work. He sighed. He had things to say too, but he wasn't ready.

"I...I don't know if it's just me, but things don't feel...feel like they used too." Tyler looked down from Mike, but realized something as important as this deserved eye contact.

"This is about us, isn't it?" Mike asked. He knew it.

"Yep." Tyler nodded his head.

"You're not alone, then. I-I feel it too." Mike hated to agree to this, but it was true. They were falling out of love.

There was a pause, and for ten seconds the house was quite.

"What do we do?" Mike asked.

"I-i mean, there's still something there, but something else is missing. Something we had before." Tyler frowned. "I don't want to give up on you."

"I don't want to either." Mike replied. He felt the heartbreak already. He was honestly terrified that he could lose his happiness again. It would be so easy.

"I've noticed that, like, I'm not really all that excited to go out on dates anymore." Tyler went on. "It's all the same as places, and we've never really got much new to say."

"You like it more at home, huh?"

"No, no, I like living here with you and Onity."

"I meant this home."

"Oh, well then yeah. I like spending time here more then going out."

Mike paused, and he had a thought, but one that Tyler beat him to.

"You think it might be Onity?"

"Onity?" Mike frowned. "Do you feel happier around him?"

"Well... Yeah, maybe." Tyler shrugged.

"I don't know."

Mike couldn't help but feel worn out. What if Tyler left him for Onity? Would Onity to even accept? What would happen to them if he did? If he didn't? And, to be honest, Mike liked hanging out with his goofy ass too. If Tyler left him for Onity, chances are that no matter the outcome, he'd lose them both. Onity would be so bored if Tyler moved out and Mike always worked.

"Are you okay?" Tyler asked, noticing Mike going quiet. Tyler knew all too well that Mike spends a lot of time in his head.

"I'm just...just worried." Mike shook his head.

Tyler walked over, standing next to Mike. He leaned over and kissed the man on the forehead.

"I'm sorry."

"It's not your fault." Mike said. Tyler  gave him a forehead kiss. The nerd really did still have something left for him.

"It's our fault." Tyler said, and then yawned.

"You want to head to bed?"Mike asked.

"Yeah.yeah." Tyler nodded his head.

"You coming too?"

Mike looked over at his work. He really didn't want to do this. What's a few late fees when your relationship is falling apart?

But then again, he was poor, and even though the two worked, they still both had shitty pays. Late fees add up.

"I need to finish these. I'll be back there as soon as I'm done." Mike rubbed his eyes with his hand.

"Okay. Don't fall asleep at the table." Tyler replied before turning away.

"I'll try." Mike gave a weak laugh. How many times before had he done that? A lot, actually.

Tyler walked back to their bedroom, and walking inside he could already hear the snoring coming from his alien roommate. Sitting down on the bed, he looked over at the sleeping mess. He'd never seen Onity so knocked out. But Onity really had not been sleeping a lot the last few weeks, so maybe it caught up to him.

"I wonder a lot about you." Tyler frowned, sitting up against the head board and taking the pillow, shoving his own face into it. He breathed out, and the places the pillow back onto his lap.

"I...oh god dammit, I think I love you?" He continued to ramble. "You're so, just, different. I've never met somebody as dumb as you, but I've never really know someone as smart as you either. You'd take that as a compliment, probably."

Tyler looked over to see the other's hair a complete mess. His body was covered in blankets as the fan above spun on high. Onity liked wearing a t-shirt and boxers to bed, even though Rose has bought him pajamas when she bought him a bunch of other clothes. Having the guy only wearing a shirt and boxers made Tyler feel uncomfortable sleeping next to him, but he wasn't there all the time, and whenever he was, he'd gotten there first.

"Ugh, I have feelings for a guy who wasn't even born on earth. Would Rose believe that? Hell, would she believe I have feelings for two guys?" Tyler mumbled. Rose would get a kick learning about this problem.

Tyler also really didn't know all that much about Onity. They'd come to be close friends, but Onity has never said anything about his past, other then for mentioning he was from another dimension. Tyler knew Onity was a fan of everything human, but what else? The guy never talked much about his preferences. He liked meats, sure, and he's a sucker for kids show, but what did he favorite out of everything? What music did he like? Rose claimed the guy said he was gay too, but Onity has never told them his preference in romance either.

Was Onity even open to romance?
Surely with all that TV he watched, he understood the concept, and Tyler wanted to believe that there was something similar wherever the guy came from. But how different was it? How different are their standards of beauty, and are they as stuck up as humans are, or as nosy? And while he thought about it, what does Onity even look like in his real, true form? How does his homeword work? Are genders different? Are families different?

Tyler needed to go to bed. He was tired out of his mind, and the more he thought about all their differences, the more he worried about the outcome of his troubles. He turned in the bed to see that the space on the other side of Onity was still untouched.

That was it. He couldn't stand it. The emptiness of the space made him feel incomplete. He was scared that he'd like being with Onity more then Mike, but laying here made him realize he wasn't totally complete without both of them. He got up, rubbing his eyes, and left the room. He walked through the kitchen back to the kitchen table, finding Mike right where he'd left him.

Mike looked like he could fall asleep any second. He didn't even hear Tyler walking over, which gave Tyler the impression that the guy was out of it as well. Tyler reached out, and wrapped his hands around Mike's arm. He gave the guy a pull.

"Hm?" Mike shivered, looking up at Tyler.

"Come on, it's time for bed." Tyler yawned again.

Mike paused, looking back at his work. Tyler tugged him again, and with that, he gave up. He pushed the top of the laptop down and got up from his chair. Tyler continued to tug at his arm, but Mike pulled his arm away. Tyler felt like it was a rejection at first, but then found Mike grabbing and holding his hand.
The two walked back across the house, into the bedroom. Tyler walked back over to his side of the bed, and Mike stopped by his.

"I'm surprised you didn't tell him to leave this time. Or at least push him to the side." Mike yawned.
Tyler sometimes would do such things as to avoid having Onity claim the middle of the bed.

"The beds got room for a trio, I figured." Tyler muttered, sliding under the covers and fixing his pillow. He didn't close his eyes still he saw Mike get into the bed as well.

"Goodnight." Mike yawned again.

"Night."

Mike turned the side lamp off, and the room went dark.
