Save a prayer ~ Aemond Tagaryen
Ich dachte ich schreibe mal was auf Englisch. Keine Ahnung ob es überragend ist, ich glaube es ist durchschnittlich. Die Inspiration war übrigens das Lied oben. Hehe.
She was beauty. She was temptation. She was his darkest desire. He wanted her so badly, he could barely breath when she was around. And so did the court. The Lords and Ladies got lost in her beauty. The beauty of Daena Tagaryen, the Princess of Dragonstone.
He has always kept an eye on her, since they told him she was promised to him. He couldn't name that feeling, but whenever she was around, he felt something like happiness. Some people would call it love. But the only things Aemond Tagaryen loved at this time were his dragon and his sword.
The older Daena got, the more beautiful she became, and not even Aemond could deny it. They became very close. Some said a little too close. But who cared what the maidens and servants were thinking? She was his and he was hers. And those who called it a One-Nightstand lost their tongue first and then their head. Cause for Aemond it became paradise. He wanted to protect her at all costs, and he did as he said. And even her father couldn't take her away from him.
"Dress up.", he said as he entered her rooms. "It has snowed." She looked surprised. "Snow? Here?" Aemond shook his head. "Not here, but northern the Riverlands, near Moat Cailin. I thought we could fly there on dragonback." Daena seemed excited. "Are you asking me out, my Prince?", she inquired with a little smirk as she got up and started looking for a dress. "Maybe I do. What does it say about me?" She smiled and looked at him. "You are true gentleman." Then she showed him a black coat with red embroideries showing the three-headed dragon. "Will this be enough?", she asked. He approached her. "If it's not, I'm sure I'll find a way to keep you warm." She smiled at him again. "My father would kill you, if he found out." Aemond gently pulled her closer to him. "Haven't you told him about the things I do to you when nobody's watching? And the sweet, sweet sounds you make before you jump over the edge, my dear?", he whispered, slowly kissing her neck. "Cause I thought you did."
Daena sighed and leaned against him. "Oh, don't worry, my prince. I've never told anyone how skilled you are." He smiled at her skin. "Don't want to share me?" She giggled. "Not really." Then she stepped back. "Wait here. I need to change before we leave." Aemond cocked his head and grinned. "You could go naked and still look like a goddess. I wouldn't mind." She threw her coat at him. "Shut up. It's too cold for your stupid ideas!", Daena shouted as she disappeared behind the room-divider. "It was only a compliment.", he mumbled. Instead of an answer an underskirt landed on his face.
They had never seen snow before, so it was not surprising that they got absolutely speechless by the cold, white beauty which had come over the northern Riverlands. "This is...." Daena couldn't find the right words to describe what she saw when she looked around. "It's wonderful." The Dragons had landed in the middle of nowhere, midst the cold beauty of winter. "How is this possible?", she asked looking back at Aemond who had stopped a few meters behind her. She caught him starring at her. "The gods may know", Aemond repeated.
Then he went to her and bowed. "Would you like to dance with me, M'lady?" Her eyes started shining. He knew that she had always dreamed of dancing through the snow with him, in this cold silence where no one was watching. "I'd love to", she said and took his hand.
He slid through the snow with her in his arm, swirled her around and it seemed like he had forgotten the world around. "Why are you doing this?" Daena asked breathless and looked up to him. Her cheeks were reddened by the cold. He leaned over to her. "Once you told me you would like to dance in the snow. So I asked you to dance", Aemond whispered and kissed her cheek. "And I like the way you look when you're happy." She smiled and put her hands around his neck. "Thank you, Aemond", she said and kissed him.
This was the last peaceful day they spent together.
When they returned home the king was dead. And the dragons were dancing.
"You shouldn't be here, my dear", he said when she entered his rooms, in this unknown castle in the Riverlands whose name nobody remembered nowadays. There was no sign of surprise in his gaze. He knew that she would have found him anywhere. "You will have to imprison me, if you want get rid of me", Daena answered. "Aemond, please!", she begged and kneeled before him. "Stand up, Daena. You're still Blood of the Dragon. And a dragon doesn't kneel", he said harshly and pulled her back onto her feet. "My father is out there. He's hunting you and now awaits you in Harrenhal. He's furious", she whispered and clung to his vest. In this moment he realized that this war had broken her. "I know, love, I know. I will pay him a visit", he mumbled and stroke through her hair. "He's going to kill you", Daena repeated. Aemond smiled bitterly and pulled her closer to his chest. "First he must kill Vhagar." There were tears in her eyes. Vhagar wouldn't save him. "Let me come with you. I can talk to him. But please, don't fight this war without me", she pleaded. "We're enemies, my dear. I need to save my brother. Without me he's lost. All of them." He stroke over her back and kissed her forehead. "Maybe I have switched the side."
"You could never betray your father. That's not you. Go back to Dragonstone, where you're save. Don't slide between the fronts."
"Then what should I do? Sit and pray for your return? You can't force me to do that. I have a dragon. I can go wherever I want. I could save us if you only let me."
"You can't. Maybe praying is the safest option."
"Don't you dare to say this again."
"What do you want? Kill your father? His wife? Or maybe my brother?"
"No! Why does this need to be so complicated? Rhaenyra is the rightful heir, since her father has named her."
"She is unable to rule."
"Do you really think Aegon would do better? When was the last time you've seen him without alcohol?"
"I haven't seen him for a while and the last time he was barely alive. Because of Rhaenyra. She wants to kill my family, if you haven't noticed. I don't even know if he's alive. Or Helaena and her children."
There was so much bitterness in his voice. Daena said nothing. She knew how much he loved his sister and her children and how much it scared him, that they were still in the Red Keep. She hugged him tighter. "I'm sorry, Aemond. But I can't let you fly to death." He looked at her. "Promise me one thing", he whispered.
"What?"
"Say a prayer for me, when the war is over. Save it for tomorrow morning and the mourning after, so I have something to hold on when I walk through the gates of hell."
"I won't let you....", she couldn't finish. Aemond kissed her with a passion like it was his last day on earth. "I love you, my dear", he said and made it sound like a promise. "But this won't stop me." Then he turned around, left the castle and flew to Harrenhal at dawn. It was the 22nd day of the 5th moon of 130 AC.
