Morality Of A Murderer

Rage.

Rage was an emotion Izuku was accustomed to, not because he himself felt it, but because those around him always expressed it around and on him.

Though he did feel rage, constantly in fact, but he hid it.

Or was it that he didn't know what exactly it was he was feeling?

Anger is always described as a burning emotion, one filled with passion and oftentimes violence.

But that's not how Izuku felt rage. His rage was cold, gripping, seething frigidness that threatened to consume everything and freeze it in place.

But in one split moment, that's exactly what happened.

One second Kacchan was speaking to Izuku as he always does, all vulgarity and insults that Izuku had grown used to.

But the cold sensation was strong today, stronger than it's ever been before.

Was it because of the rejection of his idol? The continued torment of his classmates and Katsuki?

Or was it because of the heroes who scolded Izuku for saving his childhood tormentor, and praised the volatile blond for destroying and burning down an entire block?

It didn't matter which one it was.

All that mattered was Katsuki, on the ground, blood pouring from a deep gash in his head that revealed his brain.

A large, bloodied rock lay not to far, tracks of blood showing where it rolled away from the corpse.

Izuku stared down at the fresh body of his childhood friend.

He didn't feel anything.

No remorse.

No sorrow.

No freeze cold rage.

All of it was gone, a warm numbness in the place of all of those emotions.

And yet as Izuku stood there, silently standing over the now decaying corps, that warmth began to grow, overtaking the numbness.

Happiness.

Joy.

Elation.

A sick, twisted pleasure fill him, warmth spreading evermore as realization struck him.

He wasn't weak.

He wasn't useless.

He wasn't a Deku.

And this, this crime, the blood, the body, the rock used to do it all, was proof.

This didn't mean anything though.

As long as Izuku doesn't get caught, he can still be a hero, no matter what anyone says.

No one will stop him from attaining his dream, not Katsuki, not his classmates, not his mother-

And especially not All Might.

'But do I really want to be a hero?'

That thought struck Izuku, of course he did! It was his dream-

But why was it his dream..?

Because of All Might saying anyone could be a hero, and yet he denied that.

Because Katsuki wanted to be a hero, and yet he pushed Izuku down every chance he got.

Society praised heroes for putting their lives in danger, and yet they'd gladly let civilians die so they could keep their own lives.

Do I want to be a hero?

...

...

...

Yes.

But I will change everything.

"And no one will stop me."
