My Hero | Misty x Ash
It was a beautiful evening in the Kanto-Region and the people were busy returning home.
There was this one seven-year-old girl with short phoenix-red hair tied in a small ponytail, she was wearing a pair of shorts and a small navy-blue t-shirt. She was walking down the street to the park where she always goes for swinging.
She hummed a soft tune and jogged her way to the park, only stopping to greet some pokemons who were wandering on the streets.
She reached the park and her feet slowed down their speed as she walked inside, towards the swings.
When the swings came into her view, she was shocked. There was a boy who was lying on the ground, and a few older boys were laughing at him.
She couldn't take it. The older kids were arrogant, and she hated them for that. She was always taught to be independent and strong by her sisters (who though that Misty was better with strong and tough exterior rather than being a beautiful and delicate woman).
Misty had from that very moment started hating the adults and the older children who bullied or behaved irrationally towards the little ones. They were older and educated, so they should at least act like one. But it was the opposite every time.
Misty walked towards the group and slightly tugged at the hem of the shirt of one of the older boys. He tutted and looked down at her. A smirk slowly came to his lips as he said, "Oh, look! It's little miss rescuer!" He grabbed Misty by her forearm and slightly pulled her up. Nearing towards her face, he whispered, "Are you here to become a hero and save him?"
His friends snickered as they watched the little boy on the ground. Misty followed their gaze and looked at the little boy- about her age, looking wide-eyed at the older boy who was holding her up. She looked back at the older boy and, scrunching up her nose, she retorted back, "Oh, don't you see? Of course, I am going to!"
The older boy laughed and his friends followed after. They were sure that Misty could do no harm to them nor could she save the little boy and that is why these older boys were having fun teasing her. It was not always when they would see a little girl coming up and attempting to save a boy.
"Well, well, well," The boy put Misty down and turned to his friends, "Look, now we have someone who will fight us for this crybaby."
"Leave him alone!" Misty barked as soon as her feet touched the ground and she lounged on the older boy, scaring him out of a sudden. "You brat!" His friends yelled as they moved forward to help get Misty off. Misty was now on the older boy's back and she was straddling him by pulling the hair at the nape of his neck (as that was how long her hands could reach), she yelled and punched his shoulder blades while the other two older boys tried to pull her hands away from their friend.
Misty was a tough girl. She was taught how to fight with the bullies and dangerous people, and now she was using those techniques on this older boy who had been bullying the younger boy (about her age) for whatever reasons. And Misty was to his rescue, fighting those bullies like she always does.
"Ugh, get her OFF of ME!?" The older boy gagged and yelled as Misty attempted a loose neck-hold on him. She knew that if she tightened her hand a little more towards his neck, he was sure to knock out. But she had to be a little gentle, after all, she didn't want to go home with a death warrant. Her sisters might kill her if they found out she had knocked out a bully, that also if the same thing had been done in the past many a time. She needed to be careful about her moves.
"Not before you promise to leave this boy alone, ALONG with an APOLOGY that you will NEVER treat him like this!" Misty squeaked in his ear as loudly as she can and the boys flinched, trying their best to not run away and leave their friend alone with a little girl like her. Because who knows what Misty might do to him if she was to handle a bully by herself. "Okay, okay, we will!" The boy tried not to sound too desperate but his eyes gave away. Soon enough (and because of Misty pulling at his hair and hitting him continuously) the boy gave up. He stopped struggling and tears began strolling down his cheeks due to extensive pain in his scalp where she had been pulling his hair. Misty stopped when she realised that the boy was crying.
"I-I a-am so-sorry... N-now p-please j-just let me go..." The boy whimpered softly and Misty immediately jumped off his back.
"Apologize to him, not me. And tell your buddies to do too." Misty said and gave the older boy her handkerchief. After he took it from her to wipe his eyes, Misty went to the younger boy who was now sitting on the ground, cross-legged. She extended her arm and helped him up with a smile.
"Okay. Hey! Apologize to this boy, and then we can just get away from her- er, here." The boy and his friends surrounded the younger boy and bowed down to him as an apology, and muttered a quick 'sorry'. The older boy handed Misty back her handkerchief and almost immediately, left the park with his friends. Misty turned to the boy whose hand she was still holding. Although he was a little taller than her, he still had cute cheeks. She smiled up at him and asked, "Are you okay? Dis they hurt you much?"
He shook his head, asking her, "No, but I think it was you who hurt them-- especially that boy, much."
"Yeah, by the way, what's your name?" Misty asked, laughing as she noticed a few specks of sand tangled in the boy's jet-black hair.
"It's Ash, Ash Ketchum. You?"
"Misty, Misty Waterflower. Your Hero." Ash laughed at the last words of Misty and she smacked his hand away retorting, "Hey! Don't laugh, your hair is the same colour as your name. Ash."
"Fine, fine." Ash tried to hold back his laughter when he saw the face Misty made earlier and affirmed her, saying, "Yeah. Yeah, you are my Hero."
