PURE HONESTY AND INNOCENCE

the teacher looks around the class, loud chatter, laughs and yelling is heard from a class of six-year-olds. she claps loudly, catching their attention and calls out one boy from the class. he hesitates but comes forward and looks at the teacher, his eyes wide as he awaits her words.

"how would you like to be when you grow up?" she asks, crouching down.

"i want to help people live a safe life. i don't want people to hurt and hit others because they are weak or they are poor. i want to hug their fears and problems away if i can." he answers after a moment of hesitation. words might be from a six-year-old but the intentions are pure and much more honest than most of us. the teacher smiles, knowing that a pure soul is still striving in this selfish world.
