crossed roads : the assassination classroom
—•—
“Hey, have you heard?” Gajeel started, sitting down the empty seat beside Levy as he continued with a serious face. “Two of the new guild’s members were recently promoted as Wizard Saints.”
“You mean, the new guild near Magnolia? The one who bought Phantom Lord’s land?” Mirajane asked, now engrossed at the topic that she temporarily closed her stall.
Lucy, deeply thinking, snapped her fingers in realization. “I think I've heard of their name, but I can't quite put a finger on it. Anyway, they must be pretty strong if they are on the same level as Jura-san.”
“Hoho~ Now that makes me wanna fight them!” Natsu exclaimed, smirking.
“Don’t do anything stupid now, flame brain,” Gray retaliated. “We still don’t know what that guild’s capable of.”
“Scared are we, ice princess?” the salmon haired taunted, making Gray lose more patience.
“Wanna take that back, squinty eyes?” A cold steam started to emit from Gray as he was getting more provoked.
Before Erza could stop them from fighting, two gates from the spirit world opened voluntarily, resulting to the two who were prepared to clutch their throats out, get knocked out by the spirits’ bodies.
“I also wouldn’t do that if I were you, Natsu.”
“Loke!”
The orange haired spirit smiled sheepishly before bowing politely to his owner, with Crux following behind.
“Lucy-hime, we’re sorry for opening the gate on our own accord, and probably for eavesdropping, but we have information regarding the new guild.”
“It’s alright, I was planning on calling you two too. Please continue,” the celestial mage said, plastering a kind smile as she urged for them to carry on.
“Lucy-sama,” Crux began speaking. “The Ansatsu Kyoushitsu or mostly known as Assassination Classroom is dated way back the 21st Century, when humans still thought of magic as supernatural or absurd. All their members are part of what they call in the past the E-Class.”
“E-Class? What’s that? Is that lower or higher than S-Class?” Natsu questioned.
“Actually Natsu,” Levy brought out a worn-out book which she borrowed from the library and flipped its pages until it reached a certain chapter. “E-Class stands for End Class. It seemed to be the lowest rank in the heirarchy of their education at that time. Back then, private schools used the Worker Ant Principle, which states that 95 percent of the population must do hard labor for success, and the remaining 5 are slackers that receive discrimination for their lack of effort, to motivate their students and prepare them for the cruelty of the real world.”
“So? Does it have anything to do with the new guild’s sudden arising?” Erza now interrogated. The conversation now piqued her interest more than ever. It seemed to her that the century before magic became fully acceptable was more intriguing. And if it was already miserable for a world without magic, how could the new guild have survived and gain strangely powerful mages so easily?
“Decades ago, a research institute funded by the non-magic Government conducted an experiment to all non-magic user criminals to transform them into humanoid weapons to be used against Zeref and his empire if ever they decide to conquer the world. One of the test subjects was a notorious assassin named The Grim Reaper. Due to the result of his experiment, he gained a full yellow octopoid body who has the ability to change phases and colors based on his mood, a minimum speed of Mach 20, intelligence, the strength capable of destroying the world, and a bounty of 10,000,000,000 yen.”
Mirajane gasped in realization as a memory occured to her. “Wait, a yellow octopus? Isn’t that the guild’s current master?” she recalled as she gained the knowledge when Master Macarov asked her to accompany him in a council meeting. “But how could he have survived this long?”
“His new cells rejected the idea of aging and regenerate at an inhuman rate,” Loki answered, then urged for Crux to continue.
“While held captive, he got attached to a part-timer named Aguri Yukimura, who unfortunately died. The Reaper carried her wishes and negotiated with that Government to let him teach Class 3-E, Aguri’s students in exchange for their free ticket of assassination. He was said to have a one year deadline before he exploded with the earth but it seemed that the students found a permanent remedy. The 3-E students were trained with various assassination techniques to be the key figures in the assassination.”
The group went silent, processing the information that was sent before them. If so, then not only the students would become powerful mages if their innate strengths will be awaken, but they will also become the perfect assassins!
“Oh, so it seems you saved us from a long introduction.”
The whole guild fell into a trance as two figures: a redhead with mercury eyes and a bluenet with azure orbs walked passed the door, their footsteps barely resonating. The former wore a trademark smirk, his hands on his pockets as a dark red blaze remained on the trails he left behind. The other, plastered a look mixed of innocence and despair kept in a sheepish smile, as if making one to lower his guard intentionally.
“Who are you? What do you want with Fairy Tail?” the requip mage immediately asked, being the first one to snap from the mesmirizing aura.
“You’re funny. I thought Fairy Tail was the one who wished business with us?” the intruder with crimson red hair said. “We don’t waste our time in trivial things. Where is your master?”
“Master Macarov is away at the moment. If you have anything important to say, let us know. We’ll deliver it to him,” Mirajane indirectly demanded. Something does not sit right with these strangers. They don’t give off any magical aura at all, and yet they still feel as dangerous as a S-Class monster.
“Then I guess we have no more business with you guys. We’ll come back when the old man returns,” nonchalantly, he replied.
Feeling offended, Natsu who was trying to suppress himself threw a ball of fire towards the strangers, stopping the both of them from their tracks. “And who gives you the right to call gramps as an old man without introducing yourselves?!”
“Oi, you don’t throw your magic recklessly to strangers, Dragneel!” the redhead guy exclaimed in amusement, controlling the fire that was thrown to them around his hand, changing its bright color into a dull red which shocked the guild members. “What? Never seen an attack changed properties before? Tch, amateurs.”
“Now, now, Karma. You must pay respect to the knowledgeable ones. They have been living around magic their whole lives after all,” the bluenet finally spoke, meeting their eyes with the same expression on his face.
“Can’t you see, Nagisa? They don’t even know their powers’ full extent yet! Now Korosensei and the Magic Council expect us to fight alongside them?” Karma looked at them with a degrading look before glancing back to his partner. “Strongest guild? What a joke.”
‘Karma, Nagisa, Korosensei. Holy sprites, they are the Wizard Saints!’ Loke mentally cursed, preparing to draw in his magic.
“What did you say, punk?! Wanna fight?!”
Karma smirked triumphantly, leaving Nagisa with the conclusion that it was the crimson haired’s plan all along. To provoke them into fighting for him to test their limits. But they don’t know that. Typical Karma.
“Are you really sure you could keep up with our guild?” Karma teased, making the whole guild feel agitated even more.
“Don’t attack recklessly! They are dangerous! They are the Ansatsu Kyoushitsu’s Wizar––!”
“FIRE DRAGON’S ROAR!”
Foreseeing the attack, Nagisa immediately casted his own spell to protect himself. Himself, not Karma. At least not directly.
“Ark.”
A blinding light surrounded the flames, cancelling the attack just right before it hit them.
“Regulus Impact!” Loke’s spell was simply stopped by Nagisa who used the same magic, Ark. Loke’s eyes widened as his familiar dispersed into thin air, gaining realization upon Nagisa’s magic before his and Crux’s time ran out. “Goddess’ Magic?! How could you gain one of the forbidden arts?!” Loke said before both spirits were forced to go back to the spirit world.
Goddess’ Magic, this was Nagisa’s power. He was the second wizard who gained it after the first one which was an Apostle Goddess—a dryad—who kept reincarnating after an untimely death.
“Goddess’ Magic. You do not deserve to be blessed with such,” Erza muttered with spite. “Requip: Heaven’s Wheel Armor! Dance of the Heavenly Blades!”
“So you do? Please, don’t make me laugh. Hellblaze.”
A dull red shadow surrounded Erza’s armor, turning it brittle until it dissolved into bits of light along with her swords. It made a lot of sense because her magic was the opposite of Karma’s. Dark Arts, indirectly connected with Demon-Slaying magic and Zeref’s but different at the same time.
“And don’t you dare hurt Nagisa.”
Behind Erza, Gray leaped over, a cold breeze filled the whole guild, now covered in ice. “What if I’d dare? Ice Make: Ice Cannon!”
“Boundaries.” A barrier separated the Fairy Tail wizards and them, the new Wizard Saints.
“Enchant: Hell Mist.” Karma held Nagisa’s hand and teleported themselves outdoor, casting another magic, Hecate’s Message, which made what he wanted to say clear to Fairy Tail.
“You are not ready yet to fight. Following our mentor’s quote, you are still assassins wielding a rusty blade. But if you polish it to a shine, then we can meet at the same battlefield. Goodbye.”
The pair left them dumbfounded, then filled with determination to become stronger for the near future.

“Karma, was it okay to leave them without introducing ourselves?” Nagisa asked the redhead as he heaved a sigh of dismay.
“They are the strongest guild in Fiore. They can manage.”
Karma chuckled lightly, drawing the both of them closer for a tight embrace, then rested his chin over the bluenet’s shoulder.
“Nagisa, you worrywart.”

I can’t believe I still did this after months of not watching Fairy Tail.
I just wanted you to know that Karma and Nagisa’s magic are somewhat made-up and or inspired by Nanatsu no Taizai and I suck at making crossovers. So please, bear with me.
I’m sorry because I apparently got the spells wrong and I posted spoilers haha.
Hope you enjoyed reading! Feel free to request more crossovers! Arigato!
