(College AU) 

(POV Fiona)

I parked slowly in my boyfriend's apartment parking lot. I hadn't seen Hugh in weeks, because he was away at college while I was a high school senior. And I had something huge to tell him. I am pregnant. 

Now, I'm not the type of girl to get pregnant. I don't sleep around. I've only drank glasses of wine that my grandmother gives me. I only smoke when I'm stressed. I've never touched a drug. But here I am knocked up with an older guy's baby. Well, year older.

It happened on Halloween night. Hugh and I were messing around on his couch after going to a haunted house. His roommates weren't there and we decided to have sex. It wasn't our first time, that was back when I was a sophomore. He must have forgotten a condom or it cracked, because here I am pregnant. 

I walked to the lobby and buzzed his apartment. 

"It's Fi" I said. 

"Hey Fi, Hugh will be down in a minute." His roommate, Millard said. I plopped down on a chair and started flicking through a magazine. Suddenly big hands cover my eyes. I couldn't help but smile.

"Hi Hugh" I said. He took his hands off me, turned me around and give me a kiss. 

"I've missed you baby" He said once he stopped kissing me. He hugged me in his arms and I snuggled. 

"Me too" I said into his chest.

"What are we doing tonight?" I asked.

"Going to see a movie, maybe out to eat if you're hungry." He said. I nodded and he took my hand and we walked out the door. 

~Time Skip to after the movie~

After the movie, I was hungry (as usual) and we stopped by a diner. Throughout our meal, I tried to stay as normal as possible, but Hugh noticed something. 

"Hey Fi, you okay?" Hugh asked. I nodded. He looked at me skeptically. 

"No you're not" He said.

"Yes I am" I retorted.

"No you're not. You're acting straange. What's the matter Fi?" I looked into his puppy dog eyes and sighed. He needed to know. And it was now or never.

~Hugh POV~

I looked at my beautiful girlfriend. 'What the he'll is wrong with her?' I thought. She had been different all evening. She didn't laugh at my jokes or even smile that much.  She took a deep breath and said the two words no teenager ever wants to here.

"I'm pregnant"

Oh jesus. Oh mother fucking goddamn jesus. I knocked her up. I knocked up my 18 year old, high school girlfriend. My girlfriend who has 4 older, muscular Irish brothers. My beautiful, sweet, innocent girlfriend. The woman I wanted to marry and spend the rest of my life with. The woman who I wanted to have kids with, only much later. 

The woman I loved.

I looked back into her tear-filled eyes, ran to her side of the table and hugged her. She cried into my shoulder as I scooped her up and left the diner. So what we didn't pay. We have a baby on the way. 

Oh fuck, a baby. A little, tiny baby. I was going to be a 19 year old father to a baby. Fiona's baby. That made me smile a bit. Being a father to Fi's baby. Our baby.

I walked us to my apartment and buzzed us up. I was probably going to have to start saving for a place of my own, considering the fact that Horace and Millard won't want to live with a baby and Fi. They like Fi and everything, but won't like living with our baby.

I walked into my apartment and ignored Millard and Horace and walked her to my room. She was still crying. I hugged her even harder and whispered in her ear.

"I'm so sorry Fi, so sorry. I should've doubled up on condoms. Or been more careful. I promise I'll stick with you through it all. If you wanna keep it, I'll help raise it. If you wanna give it up for adoption, I'll help find the perfect home. If you want an abortion, I'll pay for it. Just what ever to help you. I'm so sorry." She cried even harder. I rubbed her back. 

"Hugh" she said after awhile. 

"Yeah Fi" 

"I want this baby"

I looked into her eyes and nodded.

"Whatever you want Fi" I said.

She cried even more. "I'm sorry. It's my fault!" She sobbed. 

"It's not your fault baby. I swear. And I'm gonna help you with him. With everything. I love you." I said.

She smiled. "I love you too."

She ended up spending the night with me that night. I remember holding her and watching her sleep. I couldn't help, but feel excited about being a dad and spending the rest of my life with her.

The woman of my dreams.
