Chapter 21

Third person pov:

It was the next day and Suchitra just woke up. Her day out with Nakul had been really fun, though they had gotten carried away and went back to palace later than the set time. Don't worry, they just had to hear an earful from mata Kunti and then they were off the hook.

Today, Suchitra had made up her mind that she will be spending time with the youngest Pandava, Sahadev. As soon as she woke up, her mind was filled with anticipation of spending a day with him. In her eyes, he was the calmest and the wisest amongst all Pandavas. Some might argue that it is Yudhishthir which is not wrong at all, in fact both of them are very wise with Sahadev being a little more than his jyeshth bhrata.

It was rather a gloomy day, with clouds covering the shining sun, creating an atmosphere of eerie according to some, but for Suchitra, this weather was the loveliest. She loved the dark blackish-gray sky during mornings. It made her feel calm and at peace, only if she could have a cup of hot chocolate and the classic Pride and Prejudice, it was her favourite novel of all times-apart from Harry Potter of course-but she remembered clearly how she would spend hours reading and re-reading the book, annotating it and learning all of its romantic quotes. If someone were to ask her to speak any she would start rambling out quotes without even wasting a second.

Sitting on her bed, staring at the dark and serene sky, her thoughts once again drifted to her past life in Kaliyuga. She thought of the times when her friends would tease her for being bookworm and then try to pacify her when she faked anger. Oh, how amazing it is that a simple change in weather can bring back so many beautiful memories.

She then got up and decided to get going with the day. She took a bath, wore a red and gold lehenga and then went on to offer prayers. She was a little behind her schedule since she slept in more today so she was quick with her prayers.

After praying she decided to have breakfast as it was already time. She went to the hall where all the ladies were sitting chatting happily amongst each other and eating their food. Dushala was the first one to notice her presence, she smiled at her and ushered her over. Suchitra smiled back and sat down next to Subhadra "Pranipaat sbhi ko" she greeted all of them "Saubhagyawati bhuva putri you are late today, your health is fine right?" Mata Gandhari blessed her and asked with worry lacing her voice. "Yes mata, I am perfectly fine don't worry. I was just a little tired yesterday so I slept in a bit more than usual"

"Ah yes! You were out horse riding yesterday, I remember" Subhadra said with a weird undertone in her voice. "So what are you planning to do today Suchitra?" Mata Kunti asked while taking a bite of her ladoo, as everyone ignored Subhadra which caused a pout to form on her face "I don't know mata, I think I will just read something. In this kind of weather I just want to sit in a corner and read for hours" Suchitra replied with a smile. Mata Kunti's eyes light up with interest shimmering in them "Oh! You like to read? My son Sahadev loves reading too. I am sure you are aware of it" Suchitra indeed was aware of it so she nodded and quietly ate her food. The rest of the breakfast went on without anything interesting happening as the women just chatted about different things.

After eating, Suchitra was set off on her mission of finding Sahadev. At first she just walked around the castle aimlessly, thinking of places where he could be. One thing she was sure of was that if he was as much as a reader as hersel or maybe more then he would definitely be in the library.

And with that, Suchitra started making her way towards the library happily humming a tune of one of her favourite songs. She passed by many of the workers who greeted her cheerfully, most of them loved her since she was always very respectful towards them and treated them kindness.

She greeted all of them back with same energy. If a person could see auras then they would definitely see flowers around her when she had that smile on her face and was talking to all of them. Her mood was refreshed and even better after after all the happy and cheerful greetings, she started skipping lightly in her steps and singing "Lover" by Taylor Swift, it was her favourite song from back in Kaliyuga.

But her mood was reversed completely when she saw HIM walking towards her with a raised eyebrow and egoistic aura all around himself. He stopped in front of her, crossed his arms and bent down a little clearly mocking her height. "Rajkumari Suchitra! How wonderful to see you here, where are you going?" he said sarcastically. Suchitra's eyes narrowed at him and she too crossed her arms "Why are you bending like that" she ignored his question and asked menacingly "What?" he innocently asked with a confused frown "Angraaj, I asked, why.are.you.bending.like.that.?" she said clearly, emphasising on each and every word.

The man standing in front of her, Angraaj Karna, chuckled and said in a teasing tone "Well Rajkumari, I thought that it would be better if I bend to your level it will be easier for you to hear me" Suchitra stared at him with a deadpanned look "Is this supposed to be a joke?" "Ji han" "I don't like jokes" Suchitra said while scrunching her face in disgust "And I don't like you" Angraaj retorted back childishly which was completely out of character for him.

They both stared at each other with childish glares. Angraaj was mentally cringing at his actions but he couldn't stop himself. Suchitra took a step near him threateningly and spoke in a low tone for extra dramatic effects "Angraaj Karna" She said while walking around him like a predator stalking its prey "You don't want to be my enemy, I can make your life a living hell" she said trying to sound intimidating but to Angraaj it was cute, he bit his lip trying not to laugh "We will see about that Rajkumari" he said in a confident tone and then walked away leaving Suchitra seething.

'Oh he will regret this so much. I'll make sure he regrets it' Suchitra thinks while again starting her journey towards the library. When she finally reached the gate of the library she took a deep breath to calm herself down. She wouldn't let that misogynist ruin her time with the younger Madrinandan. She opened the huge gate of the library and stepped inside. And as she walked her senses were filled with the smell of old books and....lavender? It seems like Sahadev has burned lavender incense sticks, that's a really good way of making the atmosphere calm.

This brought a smile on her face. She ventured inside the beautiful land of books in search of Sahadev. She looked around trying to catch him in her vision and guess what she saw?

She found Sahadev sitting between a number of stacks of books, reading with complete concentration as his brows were furrowed and his eyes danced on the page drinking each and every word written on it. She smiled when she saw him and decided to go up to him and ask if she could keep him company.

"Pranipaat Rajkumar Sahadev, would you mind if I join you and read something along?" her soft voice brought back Sahadev from his imaginary world as he looked at her with raised eyebrows "Oh hello Rajkumari Suchitra, how did you find me?" he was curious because no one other than his mother and brothers can guess where he might be during days like these. Suchitra chuckled and tilted her head a little "I guess great minds think alike, don't they Rajkumar? I actually thought to myself where would I be at a day like this and the library was the immediate answer my brain gave to me, so I decided to check it out and found you here" Sahadev's held an amused expression on his face "Is that so? Then I wonder if you are interested in reading too" "Oh yes! I definitely am, I love reading specially on days like these which is why I asked you if I could join" she replied "Of course you can! I would love to have company. After reading maybe we can discuss about what we read?" Sahadev suggested with a happy smile. He was happy to have someone other than his jyeshth to read with and even Yudhisthir would only read with him occasionally since he was busy with other things most of the time.

Both of them sat in a comfortable silence, drowned in the world of imagination. They sat besides each other with little smiles on their faces indicating that they still were aware if the others presence. They stole glances of each other when the other wasn't looking. After along while of reading and discussing they finally decided to retire to their rooms to give their eyes and mind some rest.

They walked slowly beside each other as they enjoyed the sounds of birds chirping around. The weather had started to clear up and sunlight was peaking through the gaps between clouds. "I had fun reading with you Suchitra, maybe...we can do this more often? You and me trying out different books together, what do you say?" Sahadev said with a serene smile on his face and his hands clasped together behind his back. Suchitra turned towards him with a smile of her own "Of course, I would love to!" and with that both of them bid each othe goodbye and went in different directions. One now has to agree that gloomy days indeed are one of the best.
