Two-Faced Twosome
The Charm Of Cranstatioa. The designs on the pages shone when the pages were found. Talk about your new type of Glossary.
I levitated my sword a bit higher again. I didn't want to be caught anywhere near the ground.
The Charm Of Cranstatioa is a separation charm. It was founded by Hearthian's very first wizard, The Great Sardá Wy.
When the first Hearthian King-
Yadda, yadda, yadda. I don't have time for the rest of this historical nonsense!!! Sardá is a stupid name. Makes him sound like a woman.
"Give me that book you impudent little brat. I have contempt for you and you know it. Just give me that book and we can finally settle this obnoxiously, worthless, dispute. And you can finally contemplate on your silly misbehaviour in this predicament!"
Big words. Ugh, enough of this nonsense!!! I buried my head back in the book...
The charm only works if the target is anywhere within view of the spell caster. That part might not be that easy.
I read through to get the wording right. I somehow felt comfort in reading encantations and knowing I could easily understand them like a sweet breeze when people rarely could.
But any good feeling wasn't gonna help me now. I stuffed the book in my bag and took a deep breath.
"Hey dirty ink face! Why not get your stupid, gosh-darn book up here!!!" I yelled at the top of all of the mist.
Her inky hair strands seemed to be fired from all directions at me. I went down while she seemed distracted.
I couldn't think of a way to get rid of the mist. I couldn't do that kind of complex magic sort could I?
If I tried to fire any type of attack without knowing the location of my target I could hurt anyone! Marco, Sam, Pepper, Scipes... Anyone. Maybe even myself if I ain't careful.
I carefully and alertingly paced my way through the mist. I knew for sure that she could read aura's. But could she tell which aura belongs to which person?
I could tell if someone is mind reading but aura's?... I'm not completely sure. I bumped into someone from behind my back.
I turned on the offensive and pointed my sword at the neck.
"Heat, It's me!"
I stared at Sam.
"Oh, sorry. I didn't know. I went on the offensive."
"Yeah, you did. Why are you so stubborn today is something bothering you?"
"Deffo. I just can't shake off this feeling." I said. I looked behind him, an inky black tentacle was slowly creeping up.
"I don't really know why it's always you saving us. It separates us completely. I just wish I could just say another joke with you but I feel kinda serious to talk about it."
"If you're the waiting to save me, why not I save you first!" I slashed the tentacle causing the cut end to poof into a cloud of smoke. And quickly regrow.
"Do you know how to blow these mists away?" He asked me. He threw an Aurora ball at a strand.
"I have no such clue." I shot a rainbow beam at another hair. "Hey, wanna play Knight?"
"What do you mean?" He asked throwing another Aurora ball.
"You're on the defensive, and I'll get em." I told him standing right behind him back-to-back.
He nodded smiling menacingly. "Game?"
"ON!!!" I slashed at another strand.
I was caught off guard and a strand took me into the air and brought me down to Hearth with a bump. A hard one too.
I blasted the strand. I quickly went closer to Sam again. Sam was more defensive than me but fragile.
I was the one doing most of the attacking and Sam was like a one-man army. Able to shield and slice through with auroras. The strands seemed to get much thicker when we paced our way forward.
"Sam, create a box with only one exit which is a small window. We could hide out in it I have a plan."
"Easy peasy... I just hope you know what the actual fresh heck you're actually doing."
The box surrounded us. I smiled and grabbed the book out of my bag.
"Ink Face!!! Come and gettit!!!" I taunted through the mists.
"What are you doing Heat? You'll kill yourself!" He whisper shouted.
"Eh, I've gone through worse than all this nonsense. She's nothing to Flaurby."
Sooo... The bro's gotta a nickname eh? Nice.
Oh you shut up.
"You!!!" Her face appeared in the mist.
It was gross seeing her up close. Or it anyway.
"You want the book? Then get rid of this mist and we'll settle this fair and square."
"No. Book first. I never break my promises." She slowly calmed down and her hair strands shortened into the regular flame and she looked somewhat normal a bit was still very stern and intimidating.
OK. Here goes.
I started chanting the spell. It started off like a low groan and humming but I breathlessly continued with the encantation her body turned normal and seemed to be glitching.
"What are you doing???!!!" She shrieked. Her voice sounded distant but it sounded like it was from two people.
The more I went on with the encantation the more different it sounded it started sounding like buzzes and higher pitched groans.
When I finished with the last syllable of the encantation, Geist seemed to be splitting in two and her appearance was changing.
Then, the mist started to slowly clear up and water was raining down on us. It was the extinguisher acting up.
When I looked down, Geist Heda was now two people... A man and woman. What the actual fresh heck?! It just kept getting weirder and weirder.
I'm just glad I haven't gone that insane yet at all really.
The female had red hair and it was tied in a bun she also had, greyish white skin, a sort of slinky dark blue silk top, a black skirt that reached her knees and ballet flats.
The man, had grey-ish white hair, a striped grey v-neck sweater, a lab coat, brown slacks, and smart leather shoes.
"Sam do you know these people? They look kinda like you and Pep." I asked him. "Or, it's a coincidence. A lot of Hearthians can have the same colors and such. And that's coming from a half-human."
"Maybe?... I can't tell though... But... Maybe... Just maybe..." He said.
"Guys!!!" Marco was rushing over to us. He snuggled up to me. "Who are these people and what are they doing here? Where's Geist and-"
"That is Geist." I said.
Marco got scared and cuddled up to me. I ruffled his mass of hair and smiled.
"Don't worry. Nothing bad can happen after this... Promise."
Geez, I gotta stop promising that no one would actually get hurt.
I just wish they could get more-
Zip it spirit.
And then, while the rest of the mist was clearing off, Pepper and Scipes ran right over to us.
They looked at the two people dumbstruck.
"You know... I used to have red hair..." Pepper sheepishly admitted.
"Really?! We could have had the same color." Scipes elbowed Pepper a little.
"I dyed it... Grey... I dunno... It seemed like a good idea." She said cluelessly.
"What should we do without... The boss." I asked.
"Don't ask me. You were the bossy one." Pepper said. "Speaking of red..."
She snapped her fingers and was instantly in her regular clothes.
"Out of the bloody and into the crimson." She said cheerily.
"You just love, playing dress up don't cha?" Scipes was rubbing her forehead. "And they are both red."
Pepper huffed and brought out a fan and was fanning herself gently. I rolled my eyes a little. That drama-queen was still my friend though.
Lacer appeared from a few hallways back.
"OK, what happened to Geist Heda?! The cameras couldn't pick up a thing in the mists."
"Oh, it's a mist-ery."
Sam elbowed me in the ribs. His elbows seemed sharp. They hurt a little. I nudged him a little.
"So you say..." Lacer said.
The girl woke up. She stood up and stared at me sternly.
"OK, Missy hand over the book-" she stopped. She stared at her hands. "This... Isn't possible... Unless..."
She shook the man and told him to wake up.
"Geist, wake up!!!" She said.
Geist?! But... Geist Heda is... What?... A fusion or a mix-up?!
The man woke up an stared at Heda. Then he smiled and got up.
"Heather... Right?" The woman said. "You've purposely caused and lessened the troubles in my life. And I'd greatly appreciate if you'd give me the book?" She burbled all at once.
I started at her. I didn't want to say another thing that could make her go absolutely crazy and start killing me again.
"If you're thinking of me turning into a, what?... A three foot monster with terrifying tresses of only inky black hair subduing you into giving me the book and slamming you into the ground and grabbing it from you to recite the Charm of Cranstatioa?" She asked me.
To be honest... She reminded me an awful lot of Pepper. That breathless way of talking was hardly what I wouldn't call... Bubbly. That fashion sense? Somewhat similar.
She tried walking on and staggered.
"I haven't walked on my own for who knows how long!... Geist honey could you please help out a little."
So... They were married I guess. It feels so awkward. She acted as if we weren't really there.
Lacier appeared from the hallway and whizzed straight infront of Geist.
"Is it really you?! Geist?! The former 5 year in a row Robotics Expert and Former Scientist and Apprentice of the Great Sardá Wy III?! I've known about all your amazing research since I was a kid!!!" Lacier started burbling as well.
Geist started feeling a bit awkward as well. But he held on to... Heda I suppose. He also seemed to be slightly smiling.
"I have to check on the ki-" Heda looked disappointed. "Never mind. Send a portal back home- No, that won't work either..."
Soon, she was walking here and there while mumbling a little. Then she fannned herself with her hand. Definitely Pepper.
"Anyway, Lacer and Lacier get back to work. I'll help you with Cyber in a minute. Now, Lacier has given you all the tour correct?" Geist asked.
"Only halfway through." Marco piped up
"Well... We usually don't have guests but we used to have those staff rooms... I'm sure they'll be all right for you..." Geist said. "Follow me then."
He opened up a portal with a wave of his hand.
I went in. Walking through it was like stepping on an invisible floor. My head was hurting again but I managed. Dragging myself and my backpack isn't easy you know?!
You idiot!!! You could punch Flaubert in the face, but you can't kill them all right now?! You are a pathetic creature!!!
We appeared in front of a long line of rooms.
"Every room has two bunk beds, two bathrooms, a desk, lighting and conditioning, and two drawers. There are... 3 of you girls, Lacier will sleep with you. And Lacer with you and Marco."
Pepper entered a room. She took one of the bottom bunks. Scipes chose one on top. I'll probably have a bottom bunk. I dumped my bag on the floor and sidled on top of the bed.
"Wake up old girl. The tour ain't done!!!" Pepper told me.
The words brought back a sensation of familiarity. Those words... I've heard them before... But... The only problem is, I don't know how I could've heard em...
Something about those two is suspicious... I don't know what...
I walked out with the other guys. We were shown the rest of the place.
When we finally got back, Lacier was waiting on one of the beds. These three seemed close. I don't wanna end up in another dress.
I shuddered at the thought and left the room. I went across the hall to the nosiest room. I smiled. They called it, Club Crazy. Or at least Marco did. In other words, the boys room.
I opened the door and was thrown down. Sam lay on top of me.
I blushed a bit feverishly. So did he. He immediately stood up and helped me up too.
"Sorry. Me and Lacer were... Hehe... Fighting..." He pointed at Lacer who was making snobby kiss faces.
"Oh yeah?" I darted past Sam and stared at Lacer straight in the eyes. "If you like Pepper you should probably be on fire by now!"
"Daaaaaaammmmnnnn!!! You got burned Lacer!" Sam said.
Lacer hit me with a pillow in the face.
He stuck out his tongue like an 8 year old. I smirked and grabbed a pillow from a random bed and flung it at him.
"You maybe on fire soon but you ain't hot." He replied with a smirk.
"Come-backs eh? In another life I could've been Come back Queen. And, FYI, I may not be hot as you say, but at least I'm cool."
"Burn, melt!!!" Marco shouted.
Lacer threw another pillow at me. I threw one back. Lacer stood up and hit Sam.
Soon, pillows were flying everywhere. Over our heads, beside us, behind us. Laughter was everywhere. Even Marco joined in on the scene.
***
"Geez, I'm tired..." Sam said falling on one of the bunk beds. "Gotta rest..."
"Hey can I stay with you guys?" I asked.
Sam looked flustered. Marco was happy and Lacer was bursting out laughing like there was no tomorrow.
"Sorry. You're a girl!!!" Lacer said in between gasps and laughter.
"You probably shouldn't be here. It's late. Why not try to sleep." He ruffled my hair a bit. "Eh kiddo?"
"Please stop. You haven't called me that ever since... Water..." I smiled.
"Yeah. Look, I'll walk you back. It's good to have company that won't throw a pillow at you."
I nodded.
I opened the door and stepped out. Sam was tagging along. And pretending I never knew, I secretly used my psychic power to fling a pillow at Lacer's face.
That showed him.
