CHAPTER THREE: LUST AND SORRY
Harry
"Really what has gotten into you all today?" Said professor McGonagall.
"Not that it matters but that's the first time my transformation's not got applause from a class."
Everybody turns towards me but they don't say anything.
Then Hermione besides Ron, raised her hand and said,
"Please professor, we've just had our divination class, and we were reading tea leaves and--"
"Ah of course," Professor McGonagall cut her and frowned.
"Which one of you will be dying this year?" She asked knowingly.
"Me." I said before anyone else could.
"I see. Then you should know Potter that that Sybil, which is her name, likes to greet her class by predicting death of one of her student." She paused. Her nostrils gone white. "But as I see that you look in excellent health to me, so you will excuse me if I don't let you off homework today. I assure you that if you die, you need not hand it in."
Hermione laughed. And I couldn't help but laugh along with her.
I was exceptionally pleased to get out to lunch after a long depressing and well a little laughter filled classes.
After the lunch, I went down to Hagrid's hut along with our class and sadly with Slytherin tailing behind us.
We go and stand at the paddock where Hagrid took us.
"Wait till my father hears he's got this oaf teaching classes!" I heard that same drawling voice from before.
But I couldn't take it. I got angry at Draco for disrespecting Hagrid.
I shake off protests by Hermione and turn around.
"Shut up Malfoy!" I say slowly filling my voice with anger.
Draco and his minions look at me smirking, and making those.... really gay noises.
Oh god what is wrong with me!?!
Draco drops his bag and struts towards me, and when he's close enough, he dips his head and looks straight in my eyes.
I could feel myself blushing at this sudden closeness between me and Draco.
"Why Potter what're you gonna do, eh?" He whispers.
I bet I looked like a big red tomato.
"I-that's....I will..." I stuttered.
He smirked at me, and as if realising that we were in public, his scowl comes back and Draco speaks loud enough for everyone to hear.
"Listen here Potter, you have no right to speak to me. Better yet breathe the same way as me." He pauses and something flashes on his face but he covers it. "So do me a favour pottah, stay away from me." He growls the last part but I was sure I could feel it was forced.
And as if on cue, Hermione comes and drags me away.
As the lesson continued, and as Hagrid talked about buckbeak, his pride, I couldn't help but feel that a pair of eyes were boring right into me from the back.
I wanted to know who it was so I used my bag as an excuse to look back as my bag itself was sitting on the rock right behind me.
I turn around and pretend to put something in my bag, and I see it. Draco looking away just as I met his eyes.
I couldn't help but feel something growing warm in me.
I turn back around and stare at Hagrid.
"Now who would like to come forward and interact with buckbeak?" Hagrid asked looking at the hippogriff.
I didn't dare move. I wasn't in the mood to get myself killed right now!
As Hagrid turned, he smiled at me and said,
"Well done harry! Come on. Come on!" He says exictedly.
I stare at him confused. What?
I look back to find the whole two classes a foot away from me.
This is so not fair!!
I dare and steal a glance at Malfoy only to find him looking at me. I secretly smiled and then smirked when I saw Draco get flustered and turn his head the other way.
I turn around and face Hagrid and buckbeak, that new found confidence due to malfoy's flustered face was enough to make me stare at death confidently.
Oh goodness! What has gotten into me!?!!
I trudge towards Hagrid.
"Now now. Don let im make the firs move, Harry you bow down. An wait if he does it back." Hagrid explains.
I do as he said and bow down exceptionally low and hope for him to do the same.
Buckbeak does that and I can't be more happy.
I go forward and pet him on the beak.
"Would you like ter ride him?" Hagrid asked.
I wanted to, but I was a little nervous.
"Umm..I don't know Hagrid--" I start to make an excuse but Hagrid doesn't take any of it.
"Go on Harry go on. Just don't pull the feathers." He said and lifted me of the ground and onto buckbeak's back.
I was scared would be an understatement. But only for the first few seconds of flying.
After that my happiness was soaring above the sky. And nothing right now could make me stop and just stay thinking.
I just let myself go and soak in all the freedom and happiness this flight was giving me.
After a full round of the whole school, I land back on the paddock where our class was.
"Amazin Harry! Amazin!" Hagrid exclaims.
I jump down from buckbeak's back and stare at the class infront.
They were shocked. All of them. No one seemed to by amazed or smiling at me aside from Ron and Hermione...an--and Malfoy.
I was beaming at both Ron and Hermione and I think I caught Draco secretly smiling at me.
I was happy. Of course Because who wouldn't want to ride a hippogriff, but also because of Draco.
He was smiling. At me.
Oh god I feel like a little girl!
I walk back to the castle for my other classes with Ron and Hermione, when suddenly someone pulls me from behind and into an empty and dark classroom.
I take out my wand and whisper lumos to see who it was.
"Malfoy?" I exclaim looking at him.
"Uh Harry I don't know how to say this but... I-I'm sorry. For all that bulling I did to you and Granger and Weasley." He mumbles out.
It was so soft I wouldn't have been able to hear it but I did.
"Why? Why're you sorry Draco? All you did these past two years is call us names. You even went as far as calling Hermione a mudblood!" I spit out that word laced with venom. Draco flinched at that word. "What makes you think I'll forgive you Draco?" I ask.
"I don't want your forgiveness Harry. I just want to apologise. I know you won't forgive me and I'm okay with that." He said and I couldn't help but soften my gaze.
He really wanted to apologise.
"Fine then. Apology accepted." I say.
He smiles and and I smile back.
"Just a request. We can't have people knowing this." He said.
"Why?" I asked, confused.
"Well because my father forbade me to speak to you, and I think he'll know if we start being friendly." He says nervously.
"Um okay. But you will have to apologise to Ron and Hermione separately because they won't believe me." I say.
"Uh no problem in that." He says and we walk out of the classroom.
Just as we get out, we see that the whole corridor is empty.
At first I stand there confused, but then I remembered we still have classes left.
"We're late," I say panicked.
"To potions." Draco completes the sentence for me.
"Uh oh!" We both say together and make a beeline to the dungeons.
