CHAPTER FIFTEEN

"He always loved the things that the rest of the world forgot, snails and slugs and the broken flowers. I think that's why he loved me, I was another broken thing, that the world left behind."

Klaus laid in bed shirtless; his eyes closed and gasping as Elijah watched. "This was all you," Elijah said to his hurt brother.

Cami rushed into the compound in a hurry. The other vampires glance at her, confused by her presence. "What's she doing here?" One of the vampires asked as they watched the blonde.

Elijah called out to Cami, "Camille!" He gestures for her to enter the room. "Please."

"Why did you call me? Have you found a way to help my uncle?" Cami asked the noble original.

"I can try, but first, I need your help."

"I don't have time for games, Elijah. The hex on him is getting worse by the day," Cami told him in a rush. She was worried for her uncle. All she wanted to do was help her family.

"My brother has a mystical torture device buried in his chest, and the mother of his child is inexplicably missing. Her sister is as well. So, I can assure you, I have no time to play any games, either," Elijah told her in a slightly aggravated voice. He wanted to help his brother but also find the girl who was like a sister to him and the girl he has fallen for.

Cami's face then grew serious. "What do you need me to do?" The scene changes. Now, they are in Klaus' bedroom. "The dagger the witch gave me is inside of him?" She asked him as Elijah removed his jacket and rolled up his sleeve.

"And every second it remains causes Niklaus untold suffering." He rolled up his other sleeve.

"Who stabbed him?" She asked him, turning to face Elijah, finally taking her eyes off of Klaus' suffering body.

"I did," He paused as she looked at him with wide eyes, "and now I intend to remove it." He walked to where he was by Klaus' side. "You might want to take a step back," He told her, pointing behind him.

Cami looked shocked and confused. "Why am I here?"

"Because of all the people that could be here, you're probably the only one he wouldn't immediately slaughter," He informed her as he he uses a scapel to slice into Klaus along the red scar on his stomach. "Also, he speaks of you –" He plunges his hand into Klaus' chest. "– with what is a rare degree--for him, at least--of respect. I can see you challenge him to see himself and others in a new light," He finished explaining as he finally pulled the knife out of Klaus' chest, and Klaus groaned. "You are the first friend he has had in awhile." Cami gasped as she looked at the knife and the pain on Klaus' face.

"A wonderful skill that I shall be counting on very shortly." He wiped his hands clean from the blood. "You see, Niklaus will be weak as he recovers." He turned his head and looked over his shoulder at Klaus. "So, watch over him and feed him, if you would. But slowly, please, and from your wrist." He looked at her softly, tearing his eyes away from his brother.

"Don't you guys have bags of blood in storage?" She asked him with wide eyes, her eyes going from Elijah to Klaus and back again.

"We do, but your blood is laced with vervain." He paused what he was doing and looked at her with a small grin on his face. "So, it will burn him. He'll ingest it slower. Perhaps you could use the time constructively, persuade him not to murder his baby sister," He explained to the worried blonde. He then turned to Klaus. "Niklaus," He gained his brothers attention as Klaus weakly looked up at his brother. "It was not my desire to bring you pain, but I will not see you hurt Rebekah." He paused for a millisecond. "Now, I fear Sabine may be making a final move against us. I intend to find her and to end this." Elijah started to walk away when he heard Klaus whisper.

"Elijah," Klaus said weakly, gaining his attention. Elijah bent down so that he could hear Klaus better. "You will pay for this." Elijah just looked out of the window with a blank look in his face.

Celeste - still in Sabine's body - has her hands tied in front of her as she leans back against a tree. I ripped the tape off of her mouth, no emotions set on my face. Hayley, Eve and I stood in front of her, guns aimed at her, while the rest of their clan, stuck in wolf form, surrounded her.

Sabine looked really frustrated but I didn't care. "So what's this, payback? Look. I'm sorry I tricked you. I wasn't after you," She told Eve which made me roll my eyes.

"What, and we were just collateral damage? You almost burned her, Malia and Jackson alive in that plantation fire." Sabine struggled against the ropes to free herself.

I shot a warning shot near Celeste. "Careful, Sabine, or Celeste or whatever you like to call yourself. Sudden moves make me jumpy," I smirked as I cocked the gun again. "And homicidal."

"What, you're gonna kill me, honey?" She asked me which made me take a step closer to her.

"No. I know better." The wolves started to growl. "See, I know all about you. I know that you like to off yourself and then jump into other people's bodies. Well, that's not gonna happen here. I know I can't kill you, but try hexing me or Hayley, and my friend Eve here –" I gestured to her. "– will kneecap you. Go for her, and then, well, I'll really make it hurt."

"So, what do you want?" She looked to the ground.

"Back in the 90's, you inhabited a witch named Brynne Deveraux, remember?" Hayley asked as she narrowed her eyes at her. Celeste then looked up at Hayley. "Marcel had her, you, put a curse on a lot of werewolves so they'd only turn human on a full moon," She explained to her.

"I see." She tilted her head forward. "Yes. That was me. Let me guess. You want revenge."

"I want you to undo the curse." Sabine smiled smugly and narrowed her eyes at me.

Sabine/Celeste sat on a tree stump her hands still tied together but she has managed to mix together some herbs into a mason jar. "Here." Hayley took the jar from Sabine. "It's herbs ground into paste. It'll act as a conduit for the spell. On the next full moon, your people become human. Feed it to them, the curse will be broken," She explained as she looked between Hayley and I.

"Great way to poison us all at once," I stated as I looked at the green goo that's in the container.

"Look. I know you have no reason to trust me, but, Hayley, you too Malia, I actually like you both. I was you, caring for Elijah when he cared more for his brother, and I ended up dead. So did a lot of others. This, call it a chance for me to give you what I was too in love to give myself. It's a chance to free yourself from The Originals," She explained to both Hayley and I, looking into our eyes.

"I don't want to be set free from the Originals," I told her honestly, tilting my head slightly.

"You believe her?" Eve asked us. A wolf then growled behind us.

"Whatever she's promised you, it's a lie," Elijah announced as he appeared on the steps of the little shack.

"Elijah, it's okay. We're okay," Hayley told the original, slightly relaxing in his presence.

Elijah started walking towards us as he pointed a finger at Sabine/Celeste. "She cannot be trusted."

"She's the only one that can help our pack," I told Elijah, stepping up as I crossed my arms. I didn't belong in Scott's pack anymore so finding this pack made me happy because it feels like I have another family.

"Do you have any idea what she has done to our family?" He asked us and I nodded my head.

"I know you want revenge, and come the next full moon, when I'm sure her cure works, she's all yours," Hayley announced to him, stepping by my side with the jar in hand.

"Are you suggesting that we hold her, her, captive for an entire month?" He asked and I tilted my head at him. "It would take an army." He got closer to us, standing only a few inches away.

"And we've got one," I told him, not looking away from his eyes as the wolves howled. "So help us or get out of our way." Elijah paused only for a moment and then at vampire speed he grabbed Sabine and the jar from Hayley. We both gasped as he and Sabine disappeared.

Elijah has gotten far enough away from Hayley and Malia where he and Sabine are alone now in the bayou; he throws her up against a tree, she grunted as he held the jar of herbs.

"You tricked her."

"It's no trick. You're holding the cure for Hayley and Malia's clan in your hand. If their wolves take that elixir, the curse is no more. They're free," Sabine/Celeste explained to her ex lover.

"You condemned her people to decades of agony, and now you just break the curse without so much as a whimper. Why?" He asked her suspiciously.

"Because it's the best thing I could do for them and it's the worst possible thing I could do to you," She told him as she kicked herself off of the tree with a smug look on her face.

"What are you saying?" He asked her.

"That, no matter what happens now, you've lost them. You destroy that jar, you kill me, Hayley and Malia will hate you for snatching their family from them." Elijah licked his lip in thought. "Now, if you give them the jar, we both know that they'll leave you in the end to be with them, and I know that as long as they're alive and happy and fulfilled in ways that you can't even imagine, then I get my revenge. So, you decide. Give them everything they ever wanted and lose them or deny it, see what happens then," She explained to him with a wicked glint in her eye.

Meanwhile, Malia looked at Hayley with narrowed eyes.

"Why didn't you go after them? You're a hybrid," I said, uncrossing my arms and looking around at the trees.

"No point, he's still stronger."

I just scoffed and rolled my eyes. "Still could've tried."

Hayley and I were sitting on a log with one wolf by our side, Jackson. I know his name now thanks to Hayley explaining everything to me. To say I was surprised that they were suppose to get married, would be an understatement. Elijah walked into our sight with Sabine/Celeste by his side.

"You came back," Hayley and I both spoke in unison. I got up off of the log wit the help of Hayley who kept thinking that I was too big to move around on my own, even though it's totally not true.

"I'll always come back." He walked towards us with a smile on his face. He then held out the jar to us. "Take it. It will work." I smiled at him and took the jar from his hand.

"Eve, Malia and I will round up as many of our people as we can. Come full moon, We can finally free our family." She then hugged Elijah. As they let go of each other, I pulled him into a short hug. I sent him a dazzling smile and let go to stand by Hayley's side.

"Hayley, Malia, I wonder if they have any idea how lucky they are to have you both." He kissed her forward and then mine. Hayley and I smiled at him and then left with Jackson by our side.

Celeste sat against a grave in the cemetery awakening after Elijah bit her. "Now, you didn't have to bite me to get me here. I wanted front-row seats to this show."

"And what show would that be?" Elijah asked.

Celeste then stood up, "The one where you see your "Always and Forever" pact come crashing down around you. It's a myth, Elijah, a myth I died for," She told him, rising her voice a little.

"And yet here you stand alive...For now," He threatened, his eyes narrowed.

"Is that a threat?" She asked, amused. "Oh, there's always another pretty, young body for me to jump into. From now on, every time you feel a connection to a woman, you'll be forced to wonder if it's me," As she talked, she backed away towards the entrance. "You'll trust no one and spend the rest of eternity alone." She crossed the threshold, and when Elijah tried to run after her, he's stopped by an invisible barrier. Sabine laughed as he fell to the ground. "I'm afraid you're trapped. Boundary spell. The Originals can enter, but they can't leave," She told him with a smug smirk on her face.

"You wouldn't." He narrowed his eyes at her.

"I would, and I did."

On the other side of the cemetery, Marcel and Rebekah have just dug up Davina; she was buried in a white cloth. He lowered the cloth to look at her face then covered it back up again. "I got you, D. I got you." He picked her up in his arms and they hurry toward the exit. Marcel is able to leave freely but when Rebekah tried to follow she realized she is trapped. "What is it?" He asked as he saw that she wasn't moving.

"It's a trap. Run. Get Davina out of here," She worriedly told him as she looked around her with wide eyes.

"I'm not leaving you behind." Marcel was determined.

"You must."

"I will not leave you behind!" He firmly told her.

"I swear I will join you. Go. Get Davina someplace safe," Rebekah told him, her words rushed.

"I will." They stare at each other for a moment and then he vamp-sped away.

Return to where Celeste and Elijah are talking. "Don't worry. It's a lunar spell. You'll be free by the next moonrise. My guess is, your sister won't last that long. Ah, while this body has been a hell of a lot of fun, I do think it's time I find someone else to play in, don't you?" Celeste bent down and picked up a candle on the ground. She smashed it against a tree and picked up a shard of glass. She stabbed it into Sabine's neck; coughing she fell dead to the ground. Monique then came out of the shadows, disappointed, as she looked at Sabine's body.

"You were right." Monique pointed toward the tunnels, revealing to Elijah that she had performed the spell.

In the tunnel, Celeste awakened in her original body covered by a white sheet, gasping awake. She is shocked and confused as to this sudden turn of events.

"Hello, Celeste." Elijah entered as she got to her feet and backed away from him.

"How is this possible?" She asked with wide, frightened eyes.

"Monique Deveraux and I had a little wager regarding your ability to keep a promise. It appears I won." He took a step forward which made her jump back. "You were so consumed with my downfall, that you lost the trust of one of your own," He explained to the frightened witch. Every step he took, she backed up until she was against the stone wall of the tunnel.

"Non. Mon cheri, non. Tout est possible. Ce n'est pas fini," She begged in her french accent. She started sobbing as she was too scared.

"Désolé." Elijah stabbed her in the stomach with Papa Tunde's blade, she screamed then dropped to the ground – dead.

Marcel laid  Davina on the bed and waitedbanxiously and nervously. A moment passed when suddenly Davina awakened, she gasped and tried to fight her away out from under the sheet. Marcel rushed to her side.

She was panicking seeing as the last thing she knew, she was dead.

"Davina." He sat her up. "You're ok. You're safe now. You hear me? You're safe. I won't let anyone hurt you, ok?" She looked at him with wide, frightened eyes. She has no clue on what has happened.
