Chapter 7
Wendy P.O.V
I stretched and yawned, rubbing my eyes. I sat up and looked around, smiling a little at what I saw. Levy and Gajeel were fast asleep, Levy had her head on his lap. I giggled lightly and got up, letting them sleep. I walked over to the book that Levy had left open and looked at what she was writing. Her penmanship was beautiful and neat. I decided to help her and continue writing. I couldn't translate like her but atleast this would help.
I hadn't been writing long when Levy shuffled over. " Sleep good?" I wiggled my eyebrows. She blushed and I laughed. I handed her the papers I had written. "I couldn't translate it but I at least wrote this much down." She smiled. "Thanks Wendy, your a huge help." I smiled and nodded. I continued to write while she translated what I did. Small noises kept drawing my attention to the stone door but I shook it off.
Gajeel had finally woken up and was complaint about food. "Well then go fishing!" Levy finally huffed, waving him towards the ocean below us. He complained some more before stomping to the ledge and rigging up a fishing line.
I giggled a little, watching the big dragon slayer fishing. After what seemed like forever I finished copying the book. "I feel like my hands gonna fall off." I said, rubbing my sore hand. Carla rolled her eyes at me. "You should have taken a break." I grinned. "It's alright. Hey Gajeel, catch anything?" I walked over to him. I grinned when I saw a couple of large fish. I set up a small fire and started roasting the fish.
"Levy, lunch!" I called. I frowned, seeing her nose deep in the papers. Gajeel huffed and stomped over to her. He took the pen from her hand and tossed her into his shoulder. "Let me down Gajeel!" He didn't say anything as he carried her over and dumping her on the ground. "Jerk..." She muttered as she rubbed her backside. I handed her a fish and she forgot about Gajeel as she started to eat. He sat beside her and started eating his own fish.
"How much longer shrimp?" He mumbled around his fish. "I should be done today." He nodded at her answer. Once she finished eating she went back to the papers and worked. I had fallen asleep after eating and was woken to Carla shaking my shoulder. "Come on Wendy, she's done." I sat up rubbing my eyes. Everything was packed away and they were waiting in me, Levy had the book in her hands. Once I walked to them Levy walked to the edge.
"Crystallia!" She shouted. It was quiet, but then the water started to churn and foam. Once more the leviathan rose from the ocean depths. 'Have you finished young ones?'
"Yes." Levy said, holding the book out. Crystallia looked towards the stone door and it slowly lifted. She leaned down to Levy and gently took the book in her teeth. "Thank you Crystallia, for allowing us to study your book." She nodded. 'My pleasure young one... Levy was it?' Levy nodded. 'It had been a long time since this temple has seen human life, and I must say, it brings back memories.' She said thoughtfully. I smiled.
She was about to say more, but that was before all hell broke lose.
Crystallia roared as a blast of fire hit her face. The fire continued to batter her as we quickly spun. The man in red was standing before us with his whole guild. "Go Crystallia!" Levy shouted. The beast dove deep into the dark waters.
Gajeel P.O.V
"About time we get to have some fun. Gihee." I grinned. I was starting to feel a little rusty. I dashed forward, changing my arm into a sword. I quickly slashed at the man, black vines erupting around him. "Your the bastard that tried to kill the shrimp!" I fumed. He laughed as he sent the black vines my way, making me jump back. As I landed, more vines shot out behind me, catching my side. I hissed in pain but didn't stop. I shot my arm towards him, swinging wide as he tried to dodge.
I caught him in the side, slamming him into the wall. As the dirt cleared he was gone. I turned quickly, trying to find him. I saw Wendy and the shrimp trying to fight off the dark guild members. Carla was unconscious a ways away and Lily was hurt bad. He had already used up most of his magic transforming. The shrimp was beaten and bruised but she wasn't backing down. She threw word after word at the group of mages, occasionally throwing one over the edge and into the ocean.
"I would worry less about her, and more about yourself." I turned to the voice, just as the vines shot out of the ground. I grunted in pain as they shot through my gut. He laughed, ripping the vines out. I tried to stay standing but there was a lot of blood. I covered my body in iron scales to help stop the bleeding.
"I'm getting sick and tired of you!" I shouted. I through my sword at him again and took aim. As he dodged I let lose a roar, slamming him into the wall. Before he had the chance to move I pinned him with my sword. He coughed, blood dribbling out of his mouth. I pushed harder until his eyes unfocused. I ripped my sword out of him and turned to help the girls.
I hurried as fast as I could, even though the pain made me light headed. A Mage snuck up behind Levy a she fought his comrades. I shot my iron club at him, throwing him over the ledge. Wendy was knocked away by another Mage and I quickly took him out too. The Mage who shot fire at the beast before now had me in his sights. I rolled out of the way as he shot a fire ball at me. I didn't move fast enough as another caught me in the chest. I hissed and doubled over. He was about to attack again when a word collided with him and exploded. He crumpled to the ground.
He was the last and I sighed in relief, collapsing to my knees. Levy ran to me as my iron scales disappeared. "Gajeel!" Worry covered her face and I tried to grin. "Good job shrimp. Gihee."
Levy P.O.V
I tried to small at his signature laugh but he wasn't looking good. His skin was slightly burned and he had a hole in his stomach, along with a good piece of his side missing. And there was so much blood. "Wendy!" I called. I looked and the poor little dragon slayer tried to get to her feet but her leg was hurt. I put Gajeels arm around my neck and tried to pull him to his feet.
As he staggered up the ledge we were standing on began to crack a crumble. I walked as fast as Gajeel could move but the ground continued to sag. Just as it broke free, Gajeel shoved me. I stumbled and rolled to solid ground. I turned as Gajeel fell from view. "Gajeel!" I shouted. I ran to the edge and looked down. Only the bottomless ocean. "GAJEEL!!"
