Chapter 15. Sneaking out
I have training at the shooting range every single night. It really became an obsession, but it meant I look really tired. Sideswipe sat in front of me, studying my face for the last five minutes. "Something wrong?" I asked. He gave a small shake of his head and sat back. "You look like you haven't slept at all. I have noticed it before..."
"Don't worry about it. I feel fine," I stated. "I am not buying it, Thyst," he mocked and folded his hand. Sunstreaker joined us not too long after and gave me the same look his twin brother had given me ten minutes ago. "Spill the beans. What's going on?" He asked. "Nothing is wrong. Honestly, I feel fine," I stated. They didn't believe me at all.
"Okay."
I arched a brow at Sunstreaker mild reaction and so did Sideswipe. "What?" Sideswipe questioned. "Well, she says she's fine... she doesn't lie to us, right?" He asked. I gave a small shake of my head. "Well, then we don't have a problem," Sunstreaker said and took a sip of his soda. I exchanged a look with Sideswipe before I ate the snack the said mech had given me prior.
That night, I was at the shooting range again and tried out some of the new rifles. I made some notes and after that, I tried them out. As I was out of munition, I lowered the rifle and saw I had hit every single moving dummy perfectly in the chest. I hummed, satisfied with myself and turned around, bumping straight into the twins.
"Gun."
Sunstreaker held his hand out and without arguing, I just handed it to home. "It's three in the morning and we keep wondering why you look so tired. Your room, now!" Sunstreaker ordered. I grabbed my note book, but he snitched it out of my hands. "Tomorrow, we will have a chat about this," was all Sideswipe said before he left me here. I sighed and laid in bed.
At 9 AM, the twins marched into my room like they owned the place. "Seriously? We forbid you to fight and start sneaking out to be at the shooting range at night? I thought we talked about this!" Sideswipe snapped. It was unusual for him to snap. "It's disappointing that we caught you again, Amethyst!" Both glared at me.
"I didn't do anything wrong. I wasn't making any difficult moves or hurt my ribs in any way. All I did was aiming the gun and shoot... I hit every target. Have you seen it?" I asked. "I don't give a fuck if you hit the damn targets or not!" Sunstreaker roared. I flinched and backed off. "Honestly, you can stick them in your ass! The only thing I care about is that you are not listening again and sneak out of your room every night to be at the shooting range. You need rest, you need 8 hours of sleep and apparently you need someone to keep an eye on you!" He snapped.
"Sunstreaker is right, Amethyst. You can't just sneak out every night and spend your sleeping time at the shooting range." I snorted, "Ironhide said it was fine if I showed up at the shooting range. He taught how to use different rifles."
"Is he your guardian?"
I looked at Sunstreaker again. "Well? Is he? Did Optimus assign him to make decision and keep an eye on you?" He asked. I shook my head. "No! I don't care what Ironhide says in the end, we decide what you will do and not!" Sunstreaker snapped. I wiped a tear off my face. "Why are you crying? You don't have a damn reason to cry!" Sunstreaker shouted. I backed off and Sideswipe came between us. "That's enough, Sunstreaker. She gets the point," Sideswipe mumbled. They had a quick word exchange in Cybertronian before Sunstreaker turned around and left,— slamming the door shut behind him.
I was pretty shaken up. The last thing I expected was this anger eruption over something silly like this. "I am not crying," I grumbled and passed him. "Amethyst."
Sideawipe grabbed my arm and pulled me against his chest. His arms sneaked around me and softly rubbed my back. "What are you doing, Sweetspark. Why are you doing this to yourself?" He asked. "Because it excites me and I want to learn it."
"I know, but not at night."
"Then when can I do it? You and your brother don't allow it," I said muffled in his chest. He kissed my head, "patience, Thyst." I sucked in a breath and stepped away from him. "I am going to clear my mind," I sulked and passed him but he grabbed a hold of my hand. "Where are you going?" He asked. I shrugged my shoulders and grabbed my shoes. "I don't know..."
"Sunstreaker didn't mean to hurt your feelings. He's only—" I cut him off. "Worried? Yeah, I know," I sulked and left.
((Sideswipe's P.O.V))
"You didn't had to yell at her like you did. You scared the living hell out of her. Sure she shouldn't sneak around at night but you overreacted," I said and flopped on the bed I shared with my brother. "Yeah, well... she was wrong and I want her to know she's wrong. Hopefully she stops with her secret training sessions," he growled.
"She just wants to fit in, brother. She never had anyone looking after her. She was genuinely proud that she hit all the targets. Maybe we should have approached it a different way. She does this because we tell her not to do it. I spoke to Ironhide... she told him that she wants to be like us. She looks up to us. I don't want to break what we have with her."
Sunstreaker sat down as well and gave a nod, fiddling with the zipper of my jacket. "Alright." He spotted and looked at me before pushing down and hugging me for dear life. I wrapped my arms and legs around him, burying my face in his neck. "Alright, that's enough! Let me go!" He snapped after two minutes of being in this position. I let go of him but not without a playful nudge.
