School

"Hughs, wake up!" "Ugh..." I opened my eyes and rubbed them a bit. "Up and at 'em!" the excited lady, also known as Mom, walked in. "It's a school day! Get ready!" the lady said in her cheery voice. I jumped out of the bed and walked towards her. "I'm ready, I guess," I mumbled in my new found voice. "Nuh uh! No skipping breakfast! Also, you might want to comb your hair a little..." She continued on, but I didn't pay her anymore heed. I marched downstairs and she placed a plate full of scrap in front of me. She sat across from me and began eating her own pile of scrap using weird metal tools. "Eat!" she says with her mouth full. "Um...I'm not really hungry. Sorry Mom. I guess those are the side effects of crashing into the face of-" I stopped immediately, forgetting that she didn't know about that. I stammered, didn't know what to say, and so, stuffed my mouth full of the disgusting scrap. "Well, look at you! Slow down there! Finish eating your breakfast and then time for school!" My face turned bright red, realizing that there was no way out of eating the scrap. So I finished, even though I was close to throwing up, and rushed out the door without saying goodbye. After going outside, I realized, I had no idea where the school was. I started hyperventilating. My brain filled with questions. What do these types of people even learn in their school? Do I need a jet pack? What if they need the 3.0 Version? I paced around the sidewalk, walking back and forth, not knowing what to do when I heard a voice, "Are you lost?" I stopped fidgeting and turned just in time to see a little person walking towards me. "Uh...yeah. Do you know where..." I trailed off, since I didn't know what the school name was. "Hmmm..." the stout person inspected me. "You look like you're a middle schooler. You must be looking for Harper Middle School!" I had no idea what grade I was in, but I just followed through by saying a simple "Yes." "Here! I'll help you! By the way, I'm Cameron and I just lost my first tooth! I'm in Melbourne Elementary. It's right next to Harper!" "Cool. I'm..."I stopped to think of my new name, "Hughs." Why do they make such a big deal out of something so small? We walked in silence and I thought about my life so far. I crash land on this distant planet called Earth, take an identity of someone who's deceased, and is right now standing with such an ignorant human. But, I realized, with ignorant comes innocence. They have no idea what devastation is coming. And they have no idea I'm the one who will cause it. I felt a weird feeling inside my stomach and I wasn't sure what it was. "Woah! Slow down there!" I skidded to a stop, and saw with big letters, the sign "Harper Middle School." "Well...that's your stop. I'm in the neighboring school, so if you ever need help, just find me over there!" He pointed over at the next building. "Thanks," I said quietly. I took a look at the school. Pathetic. No space shuttles, no transportation tubes, not even any guards, for crying out louds! Oh well, I guess these people are really dumb. I ran into the fence, expecting to fall through, but instead, crashed headfirst. What? I can't even teleport anymore? "Look Mommie!" I heard a sharp voice. I spun around and saw a little girl pointing straight at me. "Don't point, honey. That's impolite. He's one of those kids that are a little mental," the mom calmly replied. They walked on. I tried to hear what they're thinking but I remembered, there was no telekinesis in this world either. What a lame world. I walked through the gate of the school and the bell rang. Everyone rushed to their classes. I started panicking again. Which class was I in? I pranced around the schoolyard, darting this way and that way. What can I do? I had nowhere to go. "Hey! You there!" A hand grabbed me and grasped me tightly. I shook it off and saw it belonged to a man. "What do you think you're doing? Get to your class!" He conked me on the head. What a polite guy. "I...I don't know where...where my class is," I stammered. "Oh so you don't, do you? Well then, we'll just see about that!" he walked away, pulling me with him. Just then, Mom came, practically out of breath. "Hughs! You forgetful brat! Here's your lunch! Gosh! You made me come all the way here!" She stopped when she saw the man holding me. "Hey! Let go of my son! What seems to be the problem here?" She said in a serious tone. The man released me and said, "He doesn't know his classroom but rest assured, I'll get him taken care of!" "Oh Hughs, why are you always like this? I'm sorry sir, but it's been a long night for him." My mom grasped my hand tight and pulled me even harder than the man had. She marched me right into a classroom full of other young people that stared at me. "Now, be a good boy and don't make anymore trouble OK?" My mom left me with the young people, which I assumed were students, and an old lady, which I assumed was the teacher. I was ready to get reprimanded but nothing happened. I raised my head and saw that everyone was frozen. Then, I felt a sudden shock as I left my physical body behind.
