CHAPTER-18

Back to Present Time

Yn lay on the bed, her body aching from the earlier punishment but her heart heavier with the revelation she had just received. Her sniffles and hiccups filled the quiet room as tears streamed down her face, each dropping a silent testament to the turmoil within her. She felt the bed dip slightly and a gentle hand began to pat her head. Instinctively, she flinched, but when she looked up, she saw Jin gazing at her with gentle eyes.

Jin: "Shhh, it's okay, Yn. We're here."

Despite everything, she felt an overwhelming urge to bury herself in his embrace, seeking comfort in his familiarity. As if understanding her unspoken need, Jin leaned closer and wrapped his arms around her, careful not to hurt her bruises. She melted into his embrace, the sobs coming harder now.

Jin: "We're sorry, Yn. We're so sorry."

Namjoon, Yoongi, Hoseok, Jimin, and Taehyung stood around the bed, their expressions a mixture of regret, sorrow, and an undeniable, intense devotion. Jungkook was not in the room, still unconscious from the sedative Hoseok had administered earlier.

Namjoon stepped forward, his voice low and filled with emotion. "Yn, we never wanted to hurt you. We only wanted to protect you, to keep you close. It's just... we didn't know how to control our feelings."

Yoongi nodded, his usually stoic face showing a rare vulnerability. "We remember everything, Yn. Our past lives, our promise. We've been searching for you for centuries."

Yn's voice trembled as she finally spoke, her words heavy with confusion and pain. "But why? Why would you do this to me? I don't understand."

Hoseok's eyes were filled with tears as he spoke. "Yn, we love you. We've loved you for so long, across so many lifetimes. We made a vow, and we can't break it. We don't want to break it."

Taehyung, his voice choked with emotion, added, "We thought if we kept you close, if we never let you go, you'd remember too. You'd understand. But we were wrong. We hurt you instead."

Jimin, usually so confident, looked almost boyish as he spoke. "Please forgive us, Yn. We never meant for it to be this way."

Yn's mind was a whirlwind of emotions. The weight of their revelation, the history they shared, the centuries of searching and longing—they were all too much to bear. She felt overwhelmed, suffocated by the depth of their obsession and the intensity of their love.

Jin tightened his hold around her, his voice a soothing whisper in her ear. "We'll give you time, Yn. We'll do anything to make this right."

Yn sniffled, her tears soaking into Jin's shirt. "I just... I don't know what to think anymore. This is all so much."

Namjoon knelt by the bed, reaching out to take her hand. "We understand. Just know that we're here for you. Always. We won't force anything on you. We'll wait."

The room fell into a heavy silence, each of the six men lost in their thoughts, their regrets, and their hopes. Yn closed her eyes, trying to make sense of everything, feeling the warmth of Jin's embrace and the silent promises of the others surrounding her.

Yn slowly pulled herself away from Jin's embrace, her eyes still filled with unshed tears. She looked around the room, feeling the weight of their gazes on her.

Yn: "I... I need some time alone. Please, I just need to gather my thoughts. And I need to get dressed."

Jin nodded, understanding. "Of course, Yn. We'll give you the space you need."

Namjoon rose to his feet, his hand lingering on hers for a moment. "Take all the time you need. We'll be right outside if you need us."

One by one, they filed out of the room, their expressions a mixture of concern and understanding. Jin was the last to leave, his eyes lingering on her for a moment longer before he closed the door gently behind him.

Yn took a deep breath, the silence of the room pressing in on her. She sat up slowly, wincing at the bruises that still marred her skin. She looked around the room, finding a set of clothes folded neatly on a nearby chair.

With a deep sigh, she swung her legs over the edge of the bed and stood up. The room felt both comforting and suffocating at the same time. As she moved towards the chair, she couldn't help but feel the echoes of their confessions reverberating in her mind.

She reached for the clothes, her fingers trembling slightly. They were simple and comfortable, a stark contrast to the turmoil she felt inside. She dressed slowly, each movement a deliberate effort to steady herself.

As she pulled on the last piece of clothing, she caught a glimpse of herself in the mirror. Her reflection stared back at her, eyes wide with a mix of fear, confusion, and something else she couldn't quite name. She took a deep breath, trying to calm the storm within her.

The weight of their revelation still hung heavy on her shoulders. Centuries of love, obsession, and a promise that spanned lifetimes—it was overwhelming. She didn't know how to process it all, didn't know what to feel or how to respond.

But for now, she needed to be alone. She needed to find her own strength, her own way through the labyrinth of emotions that threatened to consume her.

As she sat back down on the bed, she closed her eyes and let out a long, shuddering breath.

On the other hand, Jungkook's eyes fluttered open, the haze of the sedative slowly lifting. As his senses came back, panic gripped him. The events of the previous day came rushing back, and his heart pounded in his chest. Without wasting a moment, he pushed himself out of bed, ignoring the residual dizziness, and headed straight for Yn's room.

He stumbled through the hallway, the urgency in his steps undeniable. When he reached her door, he didn't bother knocking. He burst in, his eyes wild and desperate.

Jungkook: "Yn!"

Yn, who had been sitting quietly on the bed, looked up in surprise. Her eyes were red and puffy from hours of crying. She watched as Jungkook ran to her, his face a mixture of relief and worry.

Jungkook: "Yn, are you okay? I was so worried when I woke up and you weren't there."

Yn gave a small, tired smile, touched by his concern despite everything. "I'm here, Jungkook. I'm... I'm okay."

He knelt beside the bed, taking her hands in his. "I'm so sorry for everything. I know saying it isn't enough, but I can't bear to see you hurt."

Yn squeezed his hands gently. "I know, Jungkook. I just need some time to process everything."

The rest of the princes, hearing the commotion, appeared at the door. Jin, Namjoon, Yoongi, Hoseok, Jimin, and Taehyung watched the scene unfold with quiet solemnity.

Jin: "Jungkook, give her some space. She asked to be alone for a while."

Jungkook looked back at them, then turned his gaze back to Yn. "I just wanted to make sure she was okay."

Yn nodded, her voice soft but firm. "I'm okay, Jungkook. Really. I just need some time to think."

Jungkook's hands lingering on hers for a moment longer " please let me stay here...I'll be quiet...please..."

She just stayed quiet.

As the clock ticked towards 9 pm, Yoongi knocked softly on Yn's door, his presence a comforting reminder of the normalcy that still existed. He opened the door to find Jungkook sitting on the floor beside Yn, who was resting his head on her knees. The room was dimly lit, and the air was heavy with the remnants of their earlier conversation.

Yoongi: "Yn, it's time for dinner. Are you ready?"

Yn looked up, her eyes reflecting a mix of sadness and fatigue. She nodded slowly. Jungkook, sensing her reluctance, stood up and offered her a hand to help her off the floor.

Jungkook: "We can go down together. It’ll be good to eat something."

Yn took his hand, rising to her feet. She offered him a small, appreciative smile. Yoongi led the way down to the dining room, where the other princes were waiting.

Dinner was a quiet affair. The atmosphere was subdued, the usual lively conversations replaced by a more somber tone. Each of the seven men was preoccupied with their own thoughts, and Yn was no exception. She ate slowly, the food providing only a fleeting comfort.

As the meal came to an end, Taehyung, Jimin, and Jungkook exchanged glances and then spoke up.

Taehyung: "How about we take a drive? A trip to the Han River might help clear your mind, Yn."

Jimin: "It’s a beautiful night. Some fresh air could do us all good."

Jungkook: "We could use the drive to talk or just be quiet and reflect. What do you think?"

Yn’s eyes brightened slightly at the suggestion. The idea of escaping the confines of the mansion, even just for a short while, seemed appealing.

Yn: "That sounds nice. I could use some fresh air."

The princes quickly prepared for the drive, and soon enough, they were heading out in one of their cars. The cool night air was a welcome change from the stuffy atmosphere of the mansion. The city lights reflected on the Han River, creating a serene and calming backdrop.

As they drove along the riverbank, the conversation was minimal, but the presence of the seven princes beside her was reassuring. Yn felt the tension slowly lifting as the gentle hum of the car and the beauty of the night provided a temporary escape from the turmoil she had been facing.

Jungkook glanced at her from the driver's seat, his expression a mix of concern and hope. Taehyung and Jimin sat in the back, their quiet company offering silent support. The drive was more about the comfort of being together than any particular destination.

They found a quiet spot near the river where they parked the car. The group stepped out, taking in the view of the shimmering water and the calm of the night. Yn took a deep breath, letting the peace of the surroundings wash over her.

Yoongi: "We’re here if you need us, Yn. Whenever you’re ready to talk or just need to be with someone, we’re here."

Yn: "Thank you, everyone. It really helps to have you all here."

They spent some time by the river, simply being present with each other. The night air, combined with the gentle companionship, provided Yn with a much-needed reprieve. The evening ended with a renewed sense of connection and a hopeful promise that, despite the challenges ahead, they would face them together.
