Ash, Clemont and May rode Noivern to Alola while Max and Bonnie rode Talonflame. They flew until it was dark out, then they landed outside a Pokémon Centre on Poni Island of Alola, the closest island to Kalos. They returned Ash's exhausted Pokémon and sent all the Pokémon to rest up under Nurse Joy's watch.

Everyone else went to bed, too. They needed their energy for what was to come. May, Max and Bonnie eventually fell into a restless sleep, but Ash and Clemont were both too worried. "What do you think is going on with Greninja and Serena?" Ash asked Clemont, keeping quiet so as not to wake the three girls.

"I... I really don't know, Ash," Clemont replied. "That's what's so worrying about it for me. I just don't know a thing." "For all we know, Serena's back in Vaniville Town wondering why we left her behind, so at least that option's a good one," Ash said, trying to lift their spirits a little. But it only made Clemont seem more upset and it didn't do much good for him, either.

"Pikachu..." Pikachu said sadly, touching his Trainer's cheek comfortingly with his little wet nose. Ash stroked the Electric Mouse Pokémon's head, trying and failing to give even the slightest of smiles right now. One of his best friends and possibly his girlfriend had been kidnapped and who knows what was happening to them, he felt he had the right to be less optimistic for a change.

"We'll look for them first thing in the morning, buddy," Ash said before falling into a sleep just as restless as the girls and Max were having.

This left Clemont, who was still worrying about Greninja and Serena. "I hope you guys are okay," he kept whispering to whoever was listening. It could be Lysandre, for all he cared, just as long as his friends were safe.

Serena was being held in place by an Alakazam using Psychic. She'd been taken to some kind of laboratory and when she hadn't complied, Alakazam was brought out to 'control her reckless activity', as Faba put it.

Right now Faba was typing a few things into a keypad. "Let me go!" Serena yelled at him. "I'm afraid that I cannot do that," Faba turned around to smirk at her. "You're going to be able to provide us with such useful information it's unbelievable. I won't even have to use one of those morons I blackmailed into helping me with your capture anymore. You'll help me so much more than them."

"I'd never help you!" Serena snapped. Faba laughed a cruel, sickening cackle. "Maybe not willingly, but when I make use of this device Team Flare developed-"

"Team Flare?!" Serena cut him off. "Oh, you know them?" Faba looked pleased. "Wonderful! Now, as I was saying, Team Flare developed a mind control device. They attempted to use it on your friend Clemont, I believe? I've got my scientists to do some work on it and now it'll function perfectly on you!"

"No!" Serena yelled. "No way! I won't let you!" "It doesn't matter whether I have your consent, Serena," Faba's smirk widened. "By the time we're through here, you'll respect me and obey everything I ask of you with the greatest pleasure. Anything left for you to say?"

"You wouldn't like what I have to say," Serena snapped. "Very well, then," Faba shrugged, activating his device. Unable to move out of the way due to the strong Psychic, Serena screamed as the beam hit her. Alakazam released her and she fell to her knees.

"Ash... I'm sorry... please help me!" She screeched at the top of her lungs. A blue aura surrounded her fiercely, then she blacked out, the aura disappearing along with her consciousness.

Ash awoke with a start when he heard Serena's voice in his dreams. Only, he could tell they were more than just dreams. He was quick to leap out of bed and start getting ready for the day, waking the others up in the process so they could do the same. The thing that woke them up the most, however, was the raging blue aura surrounding Ash as he ran around in a frenzy.

"Serena's in danger!" Ash yelled as he laced his shoes. "She's hurt! We need to save her!"

"Ash, how do you know?!" May asked as she tied her bandana to her head. "I could hear her!" Ash replied, picking up his Pokéballs. "We need to go! Hurry!"

Normally the others would've calmed down, claimed it was just a dream and gone back to sleep, but Ash's aura made them believe he could hear her for real. They wasted no time in getting ready and letting Ash lead them out the door.

"What's going on with Ash?!" Clemont asked worriedly. "I think this is something Misty told me about!" May replied. "She's a Gym Leader that Ash travelled with in a few regions, like Hoenn! Apparently he gained aura powers in Kanto, this could be it!"

"Well whatever it is, it's going crazy!" Bonnie and Max yelled in unison, too scared to get too close to Ash in case something bad happened.

After they ran for a short distance, Ash stopped at a port. "May, go find whoever's boat this is!" Ash ordered, pointing to a small boat just big enough for all of them. May nodded and ran off again. "Bonnie, Clemont, Max, get in the boat!" Ash continued. The four of them all got settled just as May was coming back with a man running after her.

"Hey! Get out of my boat, you kids!" He roared. "Go! Go! Go!" May yelled, leaping overalls on board. Ash started rowing and somehow managed to get the little boat out to sea before the man could reach them. "Dumb kids!" He yelled after them. "I'm reporting this!"

"We'll bring it back!" May yelled back. "Sorry about stealing it, but it's an emergency!"

"What was that all about?" Clemont asked May. "He said we couldn't use the boat, then he saw you guys in it when he looked out the window," May laughed. "I don't think he likes us anymore."
