Jessica was sleeping on the couch when she heard someone knocking on her door, she rushed to open, hoping that it would be Susan. It was Sarah, standing outside, "I've been calling you," she said and walked inside.

"Oh, I was... sleeping"

"Shit, I woke you up, didn't I?"

"Well yes"

"Then I'll come some other time... God, I'm sorry"

"Jesus, sit down!" she said and got back on the couch while reaching for her cigarettes.

"I came by to see you before you leave"

"I'm leaving tomorrow..."

"Well, I thought you might want to pack your things tomorrow. You'll stay there for what? A month?"

"Pretty much... yeah"

Sarah took her coat off and sat across her, "You don't seem good, are you sick?"

"No, I'm alright..." Jessica looked down, "I'm alright..." she whispered

"Jess...?"

"Yeah?"

"You can talk to me, you know that, right?"

Jessica sighed and puckered up her lips, looking around. She didn't know if she should tell her the truth so she took a minute to think about it until she finally cleared her throat and talked, "I had sex with Susan yesterday."

Sarah froze, her eyes glued on her. "But we fought this morning and she left... And I... I don't know what to do. "

"Well..."

"That's why I didn't want it to happen because I knew it'll end like that and I really enjoy being around her"

"Just... give me a minute, woman. First of all wow and... what?!"

"What?"

"You had sex with her?!"

"Yes... although I don't remember much"

"How did it happen?!"

"I... I don't remember"

"How was it? Come on you've got to tell me everything" Sarah said and sat back making herself comfortable, "Talk!"

"I don't know what do you want me to say!"

"I wanna hear everything. EVERYTHING! How was it?"

"It was nice... tensed"

"Alright, and where did it happen?"

"Inside... Sarah, I've got a problem"

"Jess, you literally made up my day! Come on talk!"

"Will you help me after?"

"Of course I will"

"Okay... so, we came here, we finished two bottles of Vodka and then it happened. I really don't want to talk about this"

"Did you... you know"

"What?"

"Did you finish?"

Jessica chuckled and looked at her, "Twice"

"What about her?"

"Same... "

"Jesus... you were on fire"

"Well..." Jessica said and shrugged while raising her eyebrow

"Alright, so you liked it?"

"I think I did... yeah"

"And you want it to happen again?"

"Sarah, it can't happen again"

"Yeah, yeah, but do YOU want this to happen again. Let's say it's not Susan and it's just someone else, would you like to do it again?"

"Well... yes"

"Do you like her?"

"I do"

"Then why are you acting like this?"

"Because I'm not an easy going person, Sarah and I don't want to ruin our friendship"

"Jess, everyone has their ups and downs and I'm sure Susan knows what kind of a person you are"

"She does?"

"Probably..."

"And what should I do now?"

"Tell me what did she say before she left?"

"She said she doesn't want to forget about what happened and she wants to give us a try and that she has feelings for me"

"And what did you say?"

"I said that we are friends and she said that we were friends cause she won't be comfortable around me after what happened and then I said that I have feelings for her as well and she left. I don't know what to do, Sarah"

"Look you're scared and that's okay, I guess but don't you want to give it a try as she said?"

"I don't know... I could, I think"

"Then call her"

"Oh, no no..."

"Why not?"

"Because she'll come back... I know she will..." she stopped and looked at Sarah, "Will she?"

Sarah chuckled, "You want her to?"

"I think I do"

"Then do something about for God's sake!"

Jessica woke up the next morning, she immediately checked her phone to see if Susan called her or texted her, anything that would brighten up her day but nothing. She knew that she could've handled it better but now she was too afraid to call her. She didn't want to be in a relationship at this phase in her life and so many years passed since the last time she was with someone that she was now enjoying being alone, at least pretending she was.

She couldn't let that take her down so she stood up and started packing her things. Her daughter was coming over so that they would leave together and as the time passed she tried to forget about Susan although it was difficult.

Hannah came and Jessica was still packing, "Something's bothering you today," she said and stood by the door, looking at her mother

"Oh, no... I'm fine. I'm just trying to concentrate on what I'm doing"

"Alright" she replied and left.

Jessica sighed and looked around, she closed her bags and lighted up a cigarette while walking in front of the window. She closed her eyes, trying to calm herself and heard Hannah yelling from inside, "MOM!"

"What?" Jessica shouted

"There's someone here who wants to talk to you"

Jessica's eyes widened, she put out the cigarette and stormed out of the bedroom, she saw Susan standing on the door, holding her dog, smiling. Jessica went closer and walked outside, closing the door behind. "Hi"

"Hi..." Susan said and looked at her

"I wanted to talk to you"

"Me too"

"Go first"

"Well, look... I thought about it and I don't wanna lose you, Jess. I mean, I wanna be able to hang out with you and if that means to forget about what happened I'm willing to do it... and I'm sorry for leaving the way I did. I was hurt and I wanted to hurt you. I'm 72 and I finally can see who's gonna be there for me if something happens and you're one of those people, I can tell..."

"You know, I'd do anything for you, Susan"

"So, that's what I wanted to say... Happy Holidays"

"Susan... I want to give us a try?"

"What?"

"I want to be with you. I know that now... it's not too late, is it?"

Susan chuckled, "Of course it's not too late"

"So... what about you?"

"You already know how I feel about you"

"I do..."

"Jess... you're driving me crazy, you know that, right? I'll always be here and if... let's say if..." she stopped when Jessica crushed her lips with hers.

"You have no idea how bad I wanted to do this"

"That was Hannah?"

"Yes"

"So you're leaving... when am I going to see you?"

"I don't know... but you can come whenever you want"

"I'll keep that in mind..." Susan said and stepped back, "I guess we'll talk, right?"

"Yes..."

"Happy holidays" she smiled and started walking towards the elevator

"Happy holidays," Jessica said and opened the door, she stopped when Susan shouted

"Jess!"

Jessica turned to look at her. "Call me when you get there"

"I'll do that..." she replied and smiled. She stood for a minute in front of the door watching her and finally stepped inside. When Susan finally walked into her house she checked her phone, only to find a message from her lover. 

*You wanna come over at nine tonight?*

*Why? You're not leaving?*

*No*

*Is everything alright?*

*The kids are leaving but I thought I could stay here for a little longer.*

*Why is there a particular reason u want to stay?*

*I want to spend more time with you.*

*Then I'll be there.*
