letter #9
". . . Ch-Chan?"
". . . S-Soonyoung?"
The two looked at each other in the eyes, surprise written all over their faces, their mouths agape.
Youngjae, Jaebum, Jackson and Yugyeom walked over to them, food in hand. People were bumping into the in-shock boys and they had to drag them away, stuffing some hot ramyun into their open mouths as they did.
Once they got to their place in the free space in the park, they saw that Mark and Wonwoo were talking while Mingyu and Seungkwan lied down their heads on Jinyoung's lap.
"Chan!" Minghao exclaimed as he stood up excitedly, engulfing the other in a hug as Chan hugged him back.
"Hyung, how have you been?" Chan laughed, swallowing a bit of the ramyun Youngjae stuffed in his mouth. Minghao grinned.
"I'm fine, Jun's just been annoying me more recently," Minghao said, a playful smirk on his face as he gestured to Jun, who was already eating some yang chow fried rice.
Chan nodded in understanding and smiled too, looking to see everyone else.
Jackson was annoying Mark in three different languages, Jun was eating messily so Minghao had to leave Chan for a bit to clean up his boyfriend's face, Seungkwan was stuffing his face with food as Vernon watched in enjoyment, Mingyu was feeding Wonwoo some jjajangmyeon, and Jaebum napped on Youngjae's shoulder as he ate some fish cakes on a stick.
Yugyeom was apparently talking to Bam Bam on the phone and Jinyoung fell asleep on Youngjae's other shoulder.
Chan sighed and looked around to spot Soonyoung, who was laughing like a dolphin as he chewed on some sushi.
Maybe it was time to start again?
Chan sighed again and sat next to Soonyoung, who was surprised that he did, but shrugged it off.
"Want some?" Soonyoung asked, showing some of the sushi to Chan. "I put too much wasabi on the salmon ones, so . . . eat them if you dare."
Chan laughed as Seungkwan went to get one of the salmon sushi, proceeding to eat it. His face reddened instantly.
"Kwan, are you okay?" Soonyoung asked in amusement, grinning as he held up a bottle of water. Seungkwan accepted it instantly, chugging it down in one go as the others choked on their food from laughter. Even Chan, who wasn't even eating anything.
"I'm okay," Seungkwan breathed out after drinking another bottle of water, wiping his mouth with a tissue paper that Minghao passed to him.
"Oh, you guys are here?" A familiar voice was heard as it neared the group's place.
"Louie-hyung!" Soonyoung exclaimed as he stopped stuffing his face with sushi and stood up to hug his hyung. "Jiho-hyung and BK-ah too!"
"Yo." Jiho waved then smirked at Jackson and Mark.
"Hey~" Bum Kun waved too, then fist-bumped Minghao as he sat down next to him.
"Hey, why didn't you guys invite us?!" a voice was heard as a "few" more people made their way to the group.
"It would be too crowded with your fat-asses," Bum Kun stuck out his tongue. The 97 liners high-fived him.
"You—!" Seungcheol almost swore but held his tongue. With him were Jihoon, Joshua, Jeonghan, Seokmin and Mizuki.
"Let's just sit down," Jeonghan suggested, opening his bag and passing a fan to Joshua since he saw he was feeling a bit hot.
"Thanks, hyung," Joshua smiled warmly at Jeonghan and he returned it.
While the 97 liners were having their "dab session", Chan and Soonyoung talked for a bit.
"Seriously, hyung, if this keeps up you could be the best dancer in South Korea!" Chan beamed as he saw one of Soonyoung's dance practices through his phone.
"Hold on— Oh my god, look at Wonwoo at that side!" Soonyoung interrupted and snorted when he saw Wonwoo taking center-stage during their performance on "Rainism". Chan tried to suppress a smile as he looked at Wonwoo, who looked at them curiously.
Soonyoung ended up laughing really loudly. And I mean really. "Oh my god! He looks like a robot!"
Chan ended up laughing too, causing some of the others to waddle over to them in curiosity.
"Wonwoo-hyung—!! Holy hell!" Mingyu exclaimed while laughing. "I didn't know you could dance like that—!"
Wonwoo visibly cringed and turned away, refusing to hear any more of the others' comments.
Laughter resounded from the group as Soonyoung pulled up more embarrassing videos from his past (some from Wonwoo's) that he "accidentally" saved on his phone.
"Aigoo~ Hyung, you look so adorable in this one!" Chan gushed when he saw a video of 4-year old Soonyoung, who was wearing a star outfit and singing along while dancing at a recital. "I heard Mizuki-hyung calls you Hoshi . . . maybe this is why!"
"Chan . . ." Soonyoung started, looking like he was about to hit him but grinned when he saw his terrified expression.
"Let's leave them be . . ." Soonyoung heard someone say as the rest left the two.
Chan hit Soonyoung playfully with a smile of his own and put his head on Soonyoung's shoulder.
"Ten years, right?" Soonyoung said, putting his head on Chan's and his hand on his too.
"Yup," Chan replied, feeling his heart rate speed up as Soonyoung intertwined their fingers.
Honestly, they looked like an old, married couple. A happy one, at that.
They couldn't contain their smiles, at all.
This was so dream-like.
Glad, this was reality.
I love you, Lee Chan.
