Chapter 3

It was 30 minutes before the show. The demons were all nice and tidy, and Transmission was being dragged around by Fog, so she could show him his position. People started piling into the room. Transmission expected a lot of people to come, but it wasn't as many. There were only about 30-40 people. One of them caught his eye as she sat down. She dazzled him with her long, golden hair, and her black dress and pink eyes... He noticed her sitting in the middle of two large men. She sat with her arms over her lap. Transmission shook his head to focus himself and went to get his instrument.

Dart pat him on the back as they all got into their positions on the stage. Hap was the lead player this time, he played the viola. Transmission held his breath as he looked at all the people there. He was nervous. Fog watched behind the stage as the lights dimmed, and she urged Kayley forward with her paw. "Shh," She told the others as Hap began to play. The humans watched them with interest and curiosity.

The pretty blonde human watched, no emotion showing in her pink eyes. Transmission looked disappointed, but he started to play anyways. The lady watched admired their music. She started to look impressed, lightening Transmission up a bit. They played louder as everyone watched, and finished expertly. The crowd cheered and the Dining Demons bowed.

As everyone started to head out, Transmission was talking with the others. Fog congratulated them. For a while.. Transmission was wondering if he was ever going to see that woman again...

It was almost the middle of the night, and Transmission was sitting at a table alone. He always did this at night, just sat and thought silently. He didn't know what to do when the amusement park wasn't running, and just spaced out.

He regained focus as he heard footsteps sound outside the room where he sat. He looked around, before getting out of his seat. He walked to the doorway and stood there, looking down the cave tunnel. His eyes glowed as he recognized the human there. It was the lady from a few nights ago!

He walked to her, as she turned around. Her pink eyes seemed to flash in surprise as she saw him, but she smiled. "It's you."

"Yes, it's me." Transmission replied, looking confused. "What are you doing here, at this time of night?"

Stelia had a small blush on her fleshy cheeks, that made Transmission cringe. "You did amazing, the other night. How do you do it? You guys aren't human... It just seems odd to me." She looked interested in him, as she studied him and his movement. He stared at her in confusion. "Odd? I don't think it's that 'odd', we're just like you, but.. Different." He explained. Stelia was holding her dress as she listened. She had an odd smile on her face. "I want to visit you more. Meet me outside the cave, and we can talk every now and again, okay?"
Transmission had an odd feeling inside him, but shook it off. "Okay." He said without hesitation. "But don't you humans have things to do?"
Stelia nodded. "Yeah... But there's nothing wrong with missing it every now and again, is there? Nobody will notice."

Transmission watched as she left, his yellow eyes gleaming. He didn't have many others to talk to here, but she could make a difference.
Stelia left, leaving through the entrance of the cave. He looked around at the darkened tunnels, barely anybody was sauntering around. He wondered deeply about that lady. 'Why is she so interested in us?' He thought. 'We're no different than humans.. Why should they get to force us to do this for the rest of our lives?'

He turned with a grunt and began to walk outside the cave, not thinking about what would happen if anybody caught him.
He poked his head out and glanced around, briefly studying his surroundings. He looked at how big the park was.. Amazing! No wonder there was so much noise outside, there were so many things to do! He walked forward, looking at the different ways to go, all the signs that normally would be lit up, the buildings, and the giant, round ferris wheel that towered above everything.
As he was admiring all the things around him, he started walking down a path that eventually led him to a giant pirate ship shaped building. He tilted his head as he saw glowing yellow eyes inside some the windows, and turned around quickly. He didn't want to meet any of the hostile pirates that lived there.

He found a map of the entire park, and found that he was a long ways away from the cave, and was close to an area titled "EMPLOYEES ONLY", and another he wasn't familiar of, but it had multiple colored tents.
The word confused him, but he wanted to check it out anyway. He didn't care if he was caught anymore, he wanted to explore. He headed toward the area, before being greeted by a door, that was locked.
Transmission decided to go the other way, before noticing a human holding a flashlight walking around. He had a badge on his chest, making Transmission flinch. He crept behind the wall of a building and sighed in relief as the human walked past, not noticing Transmission.

He figured he might as well start heading back to the cave, since he had no business wandering around here anyway.

He started walking down the same path again, his eyes glowing immensely with suspicion.
His steps make a small dusty path as he walked, and he had a strong feeling of something watching him. At the corner of his eye, he noticed a black figure. He picked up a sharp, long object from the ground and flung it at the figure. "Aha!"
The figure squawked and flew forward, dodging it. It launched itself at Transmission, it's beady red eyes glowing angrily.
Transmission looked at it and grabbed it from mid air. "A bird?"
The bird was pitch black, and had soft feathers. It had red eyes that shined like gems.

Transmission glared at it. "What..? Where did you come from?"
The bird stared at him. "Hm.. You look menacing." Smirked Transmission. "I like it."
It didn't squirm, but stared at him. It seemed calm as Transmission talked. "I think I'll call you Zero Mercy. Zero for short.."
Zero chirped as Transmission put him on his shoulder. "Seems I have a new companion."
