Kanan, Ahsoka, and Ezra were battling Maul. The battle was fierce and both sides were equal in power. Maul was getting tired of the battle and was going for the winning strike. He raised his blood red lightsaber and was about to bring it down on Kanan.
But before the weapon could hit Kanan, a blur of orange and yellow jumped in front of him. A pained scream rung through the air and then a thump into the floor.
Kanan looked to his padawan on the floor with a scorch mark through his eyes. Kanan was mad that Maul hurt his padawan and went after Maul while Ahsoka checked Ezra over. She find out that he passed out from the pain and he's eyes were badly damaged.
After Kanan went after Maul, he couldn't find him and went back to his young crew member. He looked to Ahsoka and nodded. He slipped his arms under his knees and shoulders and picked him up. They both ran back to the Phantom and lied him down with Kanan by his side the whole time. Ahsoka had found a bandage for his eyes and put them on.
Ezra woke up a minute later and started saying, "Kanan where are you? I can't see anything." Kanan reached for his hand and Ezra flinched at the contact and started squirming. "It's me Kanan," and Ezra stopped moving, " and why would do that for me? You shouldn't  have taken that hit for me." "Oh then I should of let him blind you instead, you should of said something." Ezra said with sarcasm. Kanan and Ahsoka chuckled at the remark and thought 'Even with an injury, he's snarky.' Then it got serious again and Kanan said "This is all fault I should of trained you better maybe then this wouldn't have happened." Ezra heard this and he immediately wanted to stop him from the blame. "No don't you dare, Kanan. You listen here, I took that sacrifice on my own will and you will not blame yourself. You are my master and I am your padawan. I am continuing my training but that is not the question. The question is, is can you quit blaming yourself and train your Padawan?" Ezra asked as serious as he possible could. Kanan looked at him surprised at what he said. Then Ezra added "Close your mouth and answer my question." "How did you know my mouth was open?" Kanan asked curious. "I can still feel the force now stop stalling and answer my question." Kanan sighed and said "Well you can't get rid of me that easy Padawan." Ezra smiled and said "Wouldn't have it any other way Master."
Ahsoka still piloting, smiled at the bonding happening behind her.
