"Guys, can you please let me join in?" a girl begged her friends. "I haven't done anything with you for weeks!"
"Too bad, Zoey. You just aren't fun anymore. See you later, loser," one of her friends sneered.
Zoey held her own until they left, then tears started pouring out of her eyes. She lay down on the ground and sobbed.
"Hey... you alright?" Someone came up to her and shook her gently.
"Huh? Y-yeah. I'm fine. I'm fine," she whispered, looking away from the person and getting up slowly. She lifted her head up and stared into chocolate brown eyes.
"Zoey?" he asked. "Who did this to you!" His eyes were full of rage, she could almost see the fire burning in them. He smashed his hand into his fist. "I swear, if they hurt you in any way..."
"It was nothing, Henry. They were just... being normal. Yeah. Normal."
"Normal. As in leaving you out of their things again. I don't care what you say, this time I'm telling Ray," Henry said firmly.
"No - fine. He can't do anything. They're just being the usual annoying group of girls," she rolled her eyes, trying to make him understand that she was fine with it, she didn't need his help.
"But he can! He's - you-know-who! And I'm - he-who-can't-be-named - did I get that right? Anyway, we can do something," Henry exclaimed. He lowered his voice. "If Captain Man and Kid Danger can't do this, then you'd better find some new friends. Actually - do that anyway."
"I've got you, Jasper and Charlotte, isn't that good enough?" she groaned loudly, gaining some surprised looks.
"Yeah, but we're... how do you say it... unsociable? Anti-social? Don't talk to anyone other than ourselves?" Henry said, laughing slightly.
"No," Zoey said slowly, as if talking to a child, "you're unsociable, anti-social, and don't talk to anyone other than your friends. Jasper and Charlotte are perfectly fine!"
"Hey!" Henry pouted, joking, then gave her a glare. "Don't change the subject, Zoey. You're coming with me and we're gonna tell Ray."
Zoey rolled her eyes, but knew that Henry wasn't going to give in, so she went with him to the Man Cave.
"Hey, Uncle Ray," she said nervously.
"Hey, Zoey! How you doing? How was school? Sounds great! I need Henry now," Ray rushed through the conversation, the crime alert had gone off a few minutes ago.
"But... Ray," Henry hesitated.
"What is it? We need to go!"
"It's Zoey. She's being bullied, Ray. Well, not bullied exactly, but her friends are leaving her out and stuff. It's real bad, Ray."
"Woah - are you serious?" He directed that to Henry. He nodded firmly. "Why didn't you tell me about this before, Zoey?"
"I didn't want you to overreact," she mumbled.
"I won't overreact! What do you mean?" Ray snorted, clapping Henry on the back, causing the boy to almost fall over. "Since when do I overreact? I'm perfectly fine in these situations! Fine!"
Henry tapped Ray on the arm nervously.
"Er - Ray? The crime alert..."
"Oh, scrap that! My niece is more important than -" he quickly checked what it was, "than some guy robbing a store."
Henry snapped his fingers.
"That's it!"
"What's it?" Zoey asked cautiously, certain this would be one of Henry's worse ideas.
"Well, the robbery! You're awesome at martial arts, and since you aren't hiding a secret identity or anything, you can use your skills and use the excuse of a club. Especially since people have seen you at them before. When you take him down, the news people will obviously be there, so we can publicly say thanks and then boom! Your friends will leave you alone since you know Captain Man and Kid Danger! Genius, right?"
Henry smirked, waiting for her response. She was slow in her reply.
"You - you're right? How's that - Henry Hart thought of a good idea? The world must be ending!" she exclaimed dramatically.
"Shut up," he murmured.
"Let's do it," Ray agreed, having already blown a bubble.
"Hey! You didn't wait for me!" Henry complained.
"You were too busy talking about your amazing idea," Ray exclaimed in defence.
Henry ignored Ray and turned to Zoey. "Okay, so you go ahead of us, pretend you're going into the store to buy something, or whatever. I'm pretty sure it's a convenience store, so that'll be easy. Then, you take the guy out and me and Ray show up. Simple!"
"Okay, I'm going, I'm going," Zoey grumbled, walking into the elevator, leaving the store and running to the convenience one down the road where the robbery was.
She walked in, pretending to be interested in buying something, then slowly backed off when she saw the woman glaring at the shopkeeper.
"I told you!" The shopkeeper stuttered. "We don't have any m-money! We put it in a-a bank when t-this happened last t-t-time!"
"So what! I want my money, and nothing's going to stop me from getting it," she growled.
Zoey smirked.
"Hello," she greeted, before lashing out with a kick, surprising her opponent.
The woman wasn't down for long though, and soon retaliated with a punch.
Despite the woman being much older than Zoey, however, the girl still managed to outsmart her.
She grabbed the fist as it was directed to her, sneering at her 'partner' before twisting it behind her back.
"And - done!" She skipped over to the shopkeeper cheerfully, leaving the woman unconscious on the floor. She'd kicked her hard in the head when she had her in the vulnerable hold (yeah, she was that flexible).
Just then, Captain Man and Kid Danger burst through the doors.
"That was awesome, kid!" Kid Danger complimented her, grinning widely.
A news crew shoved past them and put the cameras onto Zoey.
"Who are you? A new hero?" one simpered.
"I'm Zoey Manchester, and no, I was actually going to buy something. I go to martial arts, see?"
Kid Danger put his arm over her shoulder, and Captain Man smiled down at her.
"Well, kid, with you in the world, it makes our job much easier. Thanks." Ray shook her hand, and Zoey smiled happily.
"No prob!"
The next day at school, Zoey was surrounded by admirers who all wanted to be her friend.
They're all shallow, I swear. Just because I was on TV, seriously! She thought angrily.
Her old friends walked up to her, and smiled.
"Hey, Zoey! How are you? You going to sit with us at lunch like normal, yeah?" they grinned.
"Actually, no, I'm not. You only want to be friends again because I was on TV and you want to get close to Kid Danger, am I right? Well, that's not going to happen, so I suggest you scamper off and leave me with my true friends."
Zoey pointed at Jasper, Charlotte and Henry. They flushed and grinned.
It was dead silence in the hall.
At least until someone yelled, "Burn!"
They'd been waiting for the popular girl to get told off for ages.
Not up to my usual standards, I'm so sorry! I was in the mood to write, and I knew it wouldn't be good since I haven't been feeling too well lately, as well as the fact I'm dead tired, but you know...
And October's coming up, and if you've read Amnesia on my old account, you know the problems with me and the month.
But either way, I hope you enjoyed this fanfixfanaticc! I enjoyed finishing it off, at least, and I'm gonna enjoy going to sleep even more 😂😂.
See ya!
