Alex Rider : Another Way To Be Discovered (2)
Alex bravely takes out the men, but now he has a whole different problem on his hands... How's he going to explain this?
Last Time:
Alex finally stood up, glared at Tom when he tried to stop him and said loudly, "Why don't you bother looking for me yourself? It'd sure be much easier."
The entire school gasped as one when Alex strode up the front fearlessly.
Alex smirked. These villains just never got it, did they? They attack him, then choose to attack other people, even though he's the better spy and assassin. Well, maybe not assassin, that would mean would he killed without another thought and he didn't do that.
Wait, did he say that he was a better spy? Let me rephrase that... Did he just admit to himself that he was a spy? Must be in his blood, then, if he's admitting that. Well, he did know that it was in his blood, his father was an MI6 spy, traitor to Scorpia, same as him. As well as the fact as his uncle, Ian Rider, was an MI6 agent, killed by Yassen Gregorovitch.
Focus on the task at hand, Alex, not who your family members are and if you just admitted that you were a spy or not, Alex scolded himself.
He finally got to the front and said, staring at Caleb with no fear in his eyes, "Leave her alone," he glanced at Madison, letting a little bit of concern show in his eyes. When Caleb and the other men made no move, Alex snarled at them, "Didn't you hear me? I said, leave her alone!"
Once again, the men made no move to stop holding her, so Alex went into spy mode. It made an extremely noticeable change on himself.
His eyes, rather than being the usual serious brown eyes with just a sliver of emotion in sometimes, turned into confident, emotionless pools of brown. His body structure, usually one of teens, tall and lanky, turned into a graceful one, like one of a dancer, or an acrobat. His back straightened, as well as his shoulders. His head turned to look Caleb in the eye, not backing down, not showing any fear.
The school gasped quietly, wondering just what Alex Rider had been through to make him look like that. He didn't look like he usually did, that was for sure. He moved with ease, seemingly used to moving in that way. "Let her go, or I'll force you to. I'll let you know, I don't make things easy," Alex glared at them.
One of the men loosened their hold a bit. That was when Alex struck. He lashed out with his foot, striking the man in his leg, causing him to fall down. One of the others looked at Alex threateningly, but Alex stared emotionlessly back. The man (who had a name tag that read Beater on himself, most likely a code name) backed away a bit and Alex mocked, "Not so strong now, are you?"
The school stared as Alex purposefully goaded the men, wondering what on earth he was doing. Admittedly, it seemed rather strange that Alex (the 'sickly' boy of the school) was attacking grown men - who seemed scared of him!
"Don't just stand there! Get the boy!" Caleb growled. The men immediately pranced into action. Alex found himself punching one man, dodging another, kicking in any direction, a man falling down, beating up any other men coming his way (with a few - well, a lot - of injuries) and finally coming up to the young girl.
"Hey, you alright?" he questioned, concerned. Madison nodded her head shakily and Alex led her back to her seat, where the teachers and her friends immediately fawned over her. "So, now that's finished, what do you want with me? In fact, what would you want from me so bad that you're willing to kill any of the student in this school to get?" Alex asked.
"Now, now, Alex, I thought you knew by now. We've come, just like every other time, to kill you. Scorpia never forgives. Scorpia never forgets. Don't you remember?" Caleb answered. Alex glared at the man.
"To kill me, is it? I just thought you were coming to collect me for some tea and biscuits," Alex said, bringing in his teenager sarcasm that the villains love so much (some more sarcasm there).
Caleb growled, "Shut up and listen to us! So," he faced the school, who cowered under his gaze, "You all think that you know Alex Rider?"
A few heads nodded up and down and one boy (who Alex thought had crossed the line between brave and stupidity) shouted out, "Yeah, he's a druggie, what else is there?"
Caleb snorted, "Is that what he's been letting you believe? I'll let you know, you're wrong. All of you."
Tom stood up. Alex quickly mouthed to him, shaking his head, 'Don't do it,' and miming chopping his head off. Tom got what Alex's message was, but continued standing up, he wanted to say something.
"I know who he is. He trusts me. Not like you lot, he won't trust you in a million years," Tom stated quietly.
"Tom. You better stop talking, or else I'm going to-" Alex began.
"Going to what, druggie?" a girl sneered at him. Alex glared and took a few steps towards Caleb.
"You tell anyone about me and my private life, I swear you'll never see the light of day again," Alex growled.
"But that'd be no fun!" Caleb exclaimed. "You see, Alex Rider here is a sp-"
That's when Alex kicked him. Hard. Down there. Ouch.
"I told you. I promise that you'll never see it again. And I never break my promises," Alex snarled.
"He's a spy. He works for MI6. And he's defeated our organisation more times than I would like to remember," Caleb said. Alex launched into action, doing a roundhouse kick, managing to hit one of the men.
"Alfie, don't just stand there. Fight back!" Caleb yelled.
So Alfie did. He tried to punch Alex. Alex blocked, then lunged forward to punch him hard. Resulting in a broken jaw. Despite that, Alex continued, with renewed vigour, fighting even better than before.
Alfie stopped, for just a second. That second cost him his.....leg. Because Alex kicked it. And somehow managed to break it. That teenager has a hard kick. Just ask Alfie!
Well, you might not have a chance to ask him now, as he just collapsed on the floor.
"That's what he gets for going up against me. You know what, I think you're next, Caleb. You know, as a little, how should I say it, a little bit of revenge for telling my secret? How about that, yeah?" Alex said, purposely faking thinking of how he'd say it. Of course it would be revenge, what else? A chance to have a dolls party?
"Perhaps not, Rider. Charles, Callum, Jacob, Henry, Harry, Donald, everyone else, go! Attack! Apart from - you. You come here," Caleb demands. One of the soldiers stood next to Caleb, although Alex couldn't see his face. He got a particular bad feeling about that guy though.
But no time to be thinking about that! He had to somehow attack and dodge attacks from over twenty men who were older than him!
Duck, swipe, dodge, kick, punch, kick to the gut, duck again, dodge again, duck again, couple of kicks in there, couple of punches, a few hits, a lot of dodging, some jabs, the usual for Alex. He did get pummelled quite a bit, but he'd had worse.
Once over half the men were down, Caleb and sighed and yelled, "Alright! Since you lot are obviously terrible, I'll let you all go off and I'll let this guy have a go. Go on, Three!" Caleb called.
Alex froze. It couldn't be, could it? It couldn't be Doctor Three, right? No way! It would be a coincidence if it was, right? Yeah, definitely.
But Blunt's voice rang in Alex's head and, however much he hated the man, Laex listened to it, 'Where they see coincidence, I see conspiracy.'
Alex had to admit that the man could be right.
Three looked at him and sneered, "Why, hello, Alex. I hoped you enjoyed our little sessions, I found them quite delightful."
Alex glared at the man. "Why are you here. Want to ruin my life, I suppose?" he said, emotionless.
"Alex, I'm sure you don't mean that, do you? I, for one, enjoyed our sessions. They were quite fun for me," Three said.
"Of course it would be for you. I, on the other hand, was the one being tortured by you, so I didn't find them nearly as fun as you did," Alex said, not really caring about what he revealed to his classmates or not. They already knew his secret, he didn't really care anymore.
"And I don't intend on there being more," Alex said rather suddenly, then going into action. He attacked Three, going for the knee, only just missing it. Three was holding a knife, however, and used it to cut Alex's arm, using his traditional three strikes.
Alex either didn't notice or didn't care about the wound, for he continued fighting with vigour.
At least until Three pulled out a gun and shot him in the shoulder. Alex took an involuntary gasp of pain, then kept on kicking the man, trying to ignore the pain in his shoulder. The man simply shot Alex in his knee, causing Alex to almost cry out. He didn't, but he almost did.
Luckily, by that time, MI6 had gotten there, with a few of the SAS units as well. No doubt they were annoyed because they got pulled out of training, but, hey, it wasn't Alex's fault that Scorpia decided attack him today, was it?
Of course, K-Unit was there. It seemed that they didn't recognise Alex though, so he was relieved for that fact.
"Hey, kid, you can stop fighting now. Stop playing the hero and get that shoulder checked out, its bleeding," Wolf said bluntly.
Alex kept his head down and said a meek, "Yes, sir. Will do, sir."
Unfortunately for him, Snake said, "Wait a second, kiddo. I'm a medic, perhaps I could check out your shoulder for you. How's that?"
Alex inwardly groaned. "No thanks, sir, I'd rather get it checked out at my hospital, thanks," he said as politely as possible.
Just then, Mrs. Jones decided to cut in, "Alex, get it checked out now. I don't care if your a special agent or not, you've got to check it out."
Alex stared at her, then relented. "Fine," he muttered, pulling his shirt off.
It seemed that everyone around him gasped. Alex was about to say 'What?', but then remembered his bullet wound and all the scars that marred his back.
And then Wolf's face went pale. "Cub?" he whispered, almost inaudibly. Alex nodded and felt tempted to say 'surprised?', but felt that Wolf would just get annoyed at him for that.
"Oh, hi, Cubbiekins! I didn't know you went to school here, why didn't you say? Then I could've embarrassed you more in front of your friends like I'm doing more! Hey, Cubbie? Can I call you Cubbie? Cub sounds boring," Eagle exclaimed, sounding more hyperactive than usual.
Snake's face then took on a pale tone, "Is that a bullet wound directed at your heart?" he asked, almost begging to not have the truth, but also curious.
"No," Alex said and Snake took a deep breath of relief. "It's half a centimetre above my heart," he corrected, smirking.
Snake glared at him, "I'm taking you for a full medical now, don't try and get out of it Cub, you're doing it whether you want to or not!"
That was the last Brooklands saw of Alex Rider for a month. Sometime during that month, a couple of agents intruded on an assembly and asked everyone to sign the OSA.
When Alex Rider came back, his arm in a sling and him balancing on crutches, everyone felt the need to stare at him. He just rolled his eyes and sat next to Tom and gave him the full story of the recent mission he had just gone on.
Over two thousand words, guys! Man, I'm impressed! I should really do this more often, whaddya say? Anyway, I'm gonna write another one soon, bye!
