Harry and I were best friends. We loved each other, we laughed at each other, We danced together we walked together, we teased each other, we mocked each other and we did a lot of fun things together. No one felt comfortable enough when we were together. We had our secret jokes and we preferred to keep them secret because when explained to someone, they would without thinking anything just kick us into the mental asylum. Even when we were dating someone else, we always came back to each other. We just always be ourselves whenever we're together and it felt comfortable.

Today we had a Barbeque night with our other friends and we were going there together as always. I was putting on my mascara when a sound of a horn came in touch with my ears and I instantly recognized that it was Harry's. I smiled delightly and observed myself once in the mirror and left. 

After rushing down the stairs I opened the door and saw Harry standing beside the car with his head lifted upwards with his eyes closed. I trudged beside him and he was still standing like that as if he didn't knew that I was gonna scare him by screaming in his ears and as soon as I came closer to his ears and as I was about to scream, he yawned, opening his mouth wide and then,

AAAAAAAAAHHH..

"OH MY GOD! My ears..Seriously (y/n)!" He said with panic and bewilderment.

I was busy laughing so hard at his shocked expressions that I fell down and kept laughing as he was watching me with his eyes narrowed.

"You should've seen you face Harry!" I said while laughing.

"Yeah well I got unlucky because I don't have any mirror.." He said while throwing his arms in the air.

"Hahaha.. You looked hilarious when you were shocked.." I said while laughing and he kept looking at me with his eyes narrowed.

"Aargh! Seriously you have a very high-pitched shrieks... " He said while covering his ear.

I stopped laughing and looked at him. I kept staring him with my eyes narrowed.

"What?" 

"I don't have a high-pitched voice..!" I said.

"I said shrieks not voice genius, now get up and let's go or we'll be late"  He said while standing straight in front of me as he gestured me to get up.

"I'm not gonna get up until you say sorry.." I said as I crossed my arms and made a childish pout.

"What? For what exactly?" He said with a frown.

"Oh don't play innocent with me you..!" I said while rolling my eyes.

"What? Seriously (y/n)? Get up!" He said with a chuckle.

"I said I won't until you say sorry.." 

He looked at me with a straight face and I also looked at him with a straight face.

"What?" I snapped.

No response, he was still looking at me with a straight face.

"Oh am I that beautiful? I know right?.." I said while smiling and gesturing.

Suddenly he burst into laughter and laughed while he kept hands on his stomach.

"Oh my god (y/n) you know you're hilarious. Now get up or we'll be late." He said with a grin and a chuckle.

"Ugh! How many time to I have to tell you that I won't get up until..." and suddenly before I could complete my sentence he came and lifted me up on his shoulders.

"Aaaah... Harry! PUT ME DOWN you!.. put me down this instant! This is not funny..!"

"Well it sure looks funny to me.." He said with a chuckle.

I groaned and crossed my arms as he opened the door and put me inside.

"You'll pay for that big guy." I muttered as he shot me a side smirk.

He jogged back to the other side, opened the door and sat with a jump.

"Let's go shall we.." He mumbled as he started the engine and we drove away from my house.

I sighed as I turned to look at him, he was steering the wheel with one hand and the other hand was resting on the window. After a minute I decided to tease him so I poked him in the stomach. He looked at me and chuckled, then he was looking forward. Again I poked him and he said, "Oww! That hurt."

Again I poked him without noticing that our car had stopped because we were stuck in the traffic so he looked at me with a devilish smirk and I poked him harder again.

The other minute he suddenly started to tickle me and I was jumping here and there as the car was shaking. 

"Stoppp! Look it's a green light which means we go!" I said while getting away from him.

Just wait till we reach there.." He said with a grin and I laughed. 

"I can't"

"You have to."

"I can't."

"You have to."

"Alright.." I said with a shrug and a chuckle and he laughed.

And then we started talking about random stuff and after a second we were talking about his neighbour's dog so he said,

"I'm going to kill my neighbor's dog. It won't stop barking."

"No! Don't do that!."

"Yeah. That's too cruel. Kill the neighbour?"

"No, too messy."

"You know... a best friend would offer to hide the body." He said while shrugging.

"Still too messy." 

(At least we know where we rank each other) and then we started laughing.

Okay so the next moment my favourite song by Maroon 5 came on the radio and I turned the volume and started singing along with it.

"You know, I know they're saying 'just like cannibals, cannibals, like cannibals' but I swear every time I hear it they're saying 'Hannibals'."

He pulls up to a stop light, and took the moment to stare me incredulously.

"What?"

"Animals. Just like ANIMALS ." He said.

"Oh.." and I was like seriously that was embarrassing.

After that awkward moment I was silent and couldn't speak a word. 

Finally we arrived and we parked our car and got off.

We were kinda meeting our other friends after a week because we were so busy with our college life and exams and stuff so my friend Lydia decided to have a Barbeque night together.

We were at Lydia's house right now and she opened the door and greeted us both and led us to the backyard where everyone was sitting and laughing and cracking hilarious jokes and enjoying themselves. We waved and they greeted us delightfully as we sat on the chairs and laughed.

After we were settled, Friend#1 asked us,

"Well, I don't get why you two don't date. I mean you are perfect for each other."

So I glared Harry and he with laugh said,

"Erm, dude, we've been over this. I'm just not attracted to her."

So then I said, 

"Oh, so I'm ugly, is that it? Is that why you never look my way?"

"No... Uh, that's so not what I was trying to say. It's just that I don't find your personality attractive."

"So I'm just a boring person, then... FINE! I hate you, too!" I said (playfully to Harry which only he knows).

"You know... I often wonder if I am in love with you because you always leave me tongue-tied and feeling self-conscious. It must be love!" He said with a smirk.

"So, you finally admit your feelings? Well. It's too late I'm with [Boyfriend] now. I don't think we can ever talk again. Goodbye!" I said as I wink at Harry who smiled and promptly left and walked inside the house. I swear I would've died laughing at how everyone was serious.

"Rejected... Ouch. Sorry, man." Friend#1 admitted seriously.

"Nope, it's all good. I reckon I will see her again in about ...three ...two ...one." He said and the next moment I came back threw myself into his arms and declared my undying love for him and asked him to elope with me playfully.

and the next moment everyone died laughing when my friend#1 said,

"You guys are just f****** with me, aren't you?" and we admitted that we were playing with him. 

"I've missed us all.." I said as I wiped my tears away and laughed.

"No doubt.. seriously man you should've seen how serious you were.." he said and I laughed again.

Okay so the next moment we were trying to make a plan for the movies so I said,

"Well, I guess we could see the new Transformers movie..." 

"Is that a question? Are you really ASKING us if we want to see Transformers?" Harry said eagerly.

"I thought it would be nicer than just saying, like, 'Get in the car, loser, we're gonna go watch robots ride robot dinosaurs." and everyone burst into laughter and then my friend#2 said,

"That's EXACTLY what you're supposed to say!" and I laughed while wiping away my tears dramatically.

So after a while Lydia and Mavis served us the Barbeque and we started eating and enjoying the food as we told Lydia that how amazing the Barbeque was.As Lydia and Mavis grabbed their plates and joined us in our silly jokes they told me what they did yesterday night so Lydia started,

"Mavis was sitting opposite to me playing a computer game in which you are a civilisation trying to take over the rest of the world.." as Lydia could speak further Mavis laughed and she continued,

"As I was saying that I was just sitting and texting (y/n) so out of the blue Mavis said that 'This leader wants me to have a peace treaty with them on the condition that they get one of my cities'."

So Lydia continued,

"I said, 'Yeah, no. Don't do it'."

"So then Mavis said, "I didn't. I fought her with my army whenever hers attacked, and ended up taking one of her cities. Now she's giving me gold to form a peace treaty. That's more like it!." 

"So then I said, "That's how [Best Friend] governs!'."

"So then Mavis replied eagerly that, 'H***, yeah! Killing people 'til they offer me money'."

After we laughed Lydia continued,

"I agreed saying, "Remind me to never let you be in the government.." and everyone started laughing again.

"Seriously Mavis?" I asked playfully as she rolled her eyes with a grin.

"I doubt that our country's future is protected in your hands.." Harry mocked and we laughed again.

Okay so after a while we all went in to put our plates and everything in the kitchen so Harry was standing beside Eddie, one of my friends so after a minute as Harry was drinking his Cola in a full speed he started coughing loud because it choked so he said,

"Don't worry, I'm fine!"

"You're not fine! We can still hear you!" as everyone in the kitchen died laughing and when Harry finally realized what Eddie was talking about he said,

"No! I meant we can still hear you coughing!" and I mumbled, "Crazy." 

So after a while Lydia turned on the TV and the present channel was showing trailers of the new movies so,

The Announcer: "Starring Denzel Washington.." without even realizing that everyone was watching I looked at Mavis with a funny expression and said with a hushed voice,

"Wasn't he The President?" and everyone burst into laughter.

"Hey, Hey guys there's something I wanted to tell you.." Lydia blurted and as everyone settled down she started,

"I was walking through the grocery store and noticed a little girl sitting in the cart while her Mom shopped right beside her. The little girl was about three and smiling broadly at everyone who walked by." A big grin came on our faces and we continued listening to her,

"Hi! I said to that girl and she waved me while saying Hi back."

"So then she said this to her mom, "Mommy... did you see that lady there? So her mom replied yeah I saw her so that little girl said, "She is my BEST friend." after that joke everyone was laughing while wiping away their tears as she continued saying.

"Gosh! I trudged away from there as slow quietly as possible."

"Aww.. That was cute.." and I continued laughing hilariously.

So like this we kept enjoying and laughing after it was late and everyone was leaving so as I was talking to Lydia while Harry was waiting for me on the doorstep so suddenly Lydia's father walks in and says, "Having a party in here?" and we were all quiet and I replied,

"Well kinda.." 

"I was just talking to my best friend." Lydia said.

I was seriously was about to say 'aw' when I noticed that she was holding up a teddy bear.

"She's also an emergency food supply." Lydia said and I glared her as she chuckled.

Finally after all of this we were heading back home so Harry said,

"I HAVE HAD AN EPIPHANY!" He chanted.

"Oh? Do tell!" 

"Wait... define epiphany for me first." He said with a smirk.

"And see this is why we are best friends!" and we laughed again.

As Harry was driving back at my house, we decided to take a short cut and we drove the Sunset Boulevard for the first time and what he followed was totally not planned so he said,

"Cusson Street! Ready? Ready?"

"F***!"

"I'm so glad you knew what I meant!"

"I was on board that train.." and we burst into laughter.

Okay so me and Harry started to talk about our childhood memories so he said,

"Hey, do you remember when we were kids and you use to leave those really long messages on our answering machine?"

"What? No." I replied with bewilderment.

"You did! You use to leave twenty-minute long messages on our answering machine for us to find!"

"Oh, my god, I don't remember that! Was I actually calling for a reason or just because?" I said while controlling my laugh.

"I can't remember. I just remember mum and dad finding them!" He said with a chuckle.

"I honestly don't remember but that really does sound like something I would have done!" I said while putting my hands on my mouth from embarrassment.

"I think you're the reason why I don't like my social groups mixing."

 "Awwww. I swear, all my friends have at least one story about how I've traumatized them in some way." I said while laughing.

"Only one?" He said while arching his eye-brow.

"At least one." 

"That's better." and I side-punched him.

So there was this awesome song on the radio which was Bohemian Rhapsody so I started singing along as I know that I'm a tone-deaf and I'm horrible at singing.

"I wish I was a better singer." Harry said with a creepy grin.

"Me, too.." I said.

Harry's started laughing as he thought that I was offended so my eyes grew wider and I said,

"I mean, I wish I could sing too.."

and we both started laughing.

So finally we reached at my house and then we got off the car and stood.

As we stood there, I asked Harry,

"So how's your girl friend?" 

"Yeah she's great..How's your fictional character you have a crush on?" He asked me with a smirk and my mouth fell open.

"I ask about your real life girlfriend and you ask me about the fictional character I have a crush on? I see how it is. Also, He's good."

I need a life seriously.

As I was swinging here and there while humming and looking at the ground, Harry abruptly said,

"Hey I had really fun tonight, with you especially.." 

"Really? Thanks.." I hissed.

"Yeah..I was thinking that maybe we should, no we shouldn't or maybe we should or umm.. we shouldn't but yeah maybe we should umm.. I don't know--"

"Say it already!"

"Hang out sometimes!" He said in a fast speed which made me laugh.

"You...you mean like.. as in.. friends right.. cause you've I don't know got a .. girlfriend and so.."

"Yeah yeah of course I had a girlfriend.." He said while rolling his eyes and sighing.

"I'm really sorry..for that.." I said in a lower voice.

"No, No, it's completely fine."

"Yeah I understand.."

"So we should?"

"Yeah we will thanks Harry.."

"Yeah sure no, it's alright.."

"So I guess good night then, kinda tired.." 

"Yeah sure good night, sweet dreams.."

"Haha, you too.. bye.." and I waved him and went inside the house and he sat in his car and drove away..
