Not Always Right (Buddyfight)

Music could be heard resonating from the small yet spacious studio. It wasn't a recording session or a prep concert, but at the moment the young girl and her co-workers were trying to create another song for her upcoming show-- a surprise for her fans or so she thought.

"Time to close the studio and head back, Yuna. We've been here long enough," Emiko called as she checked for the time.

Looking over, Yuna nodded and stood up, taking her headphones off and putting it away. Her buddy monster was already asleep at the moment.

"Uhhh.... How long have we been here already..?" the girl asked, looking at an older boy.

"Mmm...." Daisuke hummed. "Roughly about five to six hours ever since you got home from school."

She cringed a little and nodded slowly. It was getting late and she hasn't started her homework just yet. That was going to be a problem and right at the moment her buddy monster, Psy, was sleeping comfortably on one of the couches. A double whammy even.

"Psy..." Yuna called as she squatted a little. "Wake up, it's time to go home..."

The white feathered dragon didn't hear and rolled a bit in his sleep. She frowned a little and tried a little bit harder than before.

"Psy...! I don't want to have to raise my voice and then have you nag at me..!"

The dragon groaned and waved his arm in front of his buddy, letting her grab the miniature dragon and haul him up.

"Wake up!"

"Is he in another deep slumber?" a boy identical to the last asked.

Yuna looked over and gave him an apologetic look before she nodded.

"Akira, who is carrying the deck right now..?"

He blinked and grinned.

"Why I am today! I know what you're thinking already," he said, a yellow glow coming out of his pocket.

"MAYHEM??!" Lispel asked loudly, completely energized.

Daisuke heard him from the other side of the room loud and clear, cringing a little and groaning.

"Oh no...." he muttered.

"WHOO HOOOOO!!!" the monster yelled. "PSY! LET'S HAVE SOME FUUNNNNN!!!!"

The young looking magician grabbed the armored dragon's arms and began jumping around along with shaking him violently. Fortunately, it did get him up from his sleep.

"Huh- Wah?! WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!! QUIT SWINGING ME AROUND!" Psy exclaimed, kicking him away. "PRIVATE SPACE! PERSONAL BUBBLE! BACK AWAY, FIEND!"

"Calm down, Psy... Lis was just helping you wake up..." Yuna sighed. "We're heading home now."

The dragon blinked his blue orbs and looked back at the monster clad in green and possibly black or a darker shade of green; it was hard to tell due to his cape covering him. He waved and grinned brightly in return.

"Akira, never be the summoner of this monster again," the dragon suggested.

Daisuke came over and nodded his head in agreement with Lispel returning to his hand instead of his wild twin. Eventually, the monster was summoned again, but he was completely different from before.

"Excuse my behavior from not so long ago, but it needed to be done," Lispel told him.

He was now smiling softly but it was just as bright as before, less crazy for sure. The dragon cringed in disgust and fluttered away to the exit.

"Come on, Yuna. We're leaving.." he said.

The girl rolled her eyes and walked off right behind him.

"Right... Good night, everyone."

The members of the group smiled and bidded her a good night as well.

"She sure is a charming child," Eiji said. "But sometimes I think she's working just a bit too hard."

"You know she's doing her best in the entertainment group and her school work. Of course she'd be working as hard as possible," Saki told him in a carefree manner.

The man shrugged a bit and cleaned up his area before they all left the studio.

"I understand that."

Meanwhile, the two outside were still not moving from the location just yet for a reason.

"Alright, Psy... Do... your worst..." Yuna gulped as she held out her core deck.

The girl was never fond of heights, but it needed to be done. It was the fastest way for her to get around after all. The core deck flashed as her Psychic Knife Dragon activated his skill with the deck saying, "Buddy skill, on!"

"I'll always rue this skill..." she complained once more.

White feathered wings decorated with silver armor appeared at her ankles afterwards. The girl closed her eyes and allowed herself to jump further away from the ground and land onto a building with ease before she had her double jump activate. And with that, Yuna was sent soaring through the night sky gently for a period of time.

"No suspicious activities and you are good to go on using the skill," the dragon told her cooly.

"Thanks... for telling me... Psy..." she responded stiffly. "Are we almost there yet?"

The dragon only snickered.

"I'll take that as a no..."

"We only just left the studio," he told her.

Eventually, she could no longer feel platforms under her and she wondered why.

"And I just got out of work as well," a male voice told her.

Yuna quietly peeked a little before she closed her eyes shut again. Tasuku chuckled as he held her close and continued to fly with the use of his own buddy skill.

"I won't drop you, don't worry."

"You love to surprise me, don't you?" she questioned as she gripped his uniform tightly in her fists.

"Well, yes. Of course I do!" he laughed. "Have you started homework?"

The girl shook her head and groaned.

"Don't worry.. I haven't either. Now let's get you back home-- Oh, and I'm staying over tonight. Again."

On the otherside of the two, a green dragon was now holding back Psy from attacking his buddy.

"QUIT TOUCHING HER! I NEVER LIKED YOU, PRODIGY!!!" he exclaimed.

"Let it go already..." Jack told him. "Why do you have to be so jealous...?"

"AM NOT!"

The four eventually got home from their respective workplaces and the monsters quickly became their miniature form before they went into the girl's house. Of course, no one was home as always.

"I'm home...." she said to herself, sighing internally.

Tasuku smiled and gently knocked the top of her head.

"Welcome home. Now we should go eat, clean up, and start our homework.. Reminiscing can be done after all that."

Yuna smiled and nodded as she walked off to get the leftovers from the day before. She made a bit too much that day and it was probably enough for the four of them to finish that night. It didn't take very long for them to finish thier food and go wash up.

"How was work? Catch any criminals this time around?" she asked as she dried up her long aqua green hair.

The blue haired boy smiled and nodded as he pulled out his notebooks that they needed.

"Success as always."

"That's good, Boy Wonder," she replied casually.

He chuckled and sat down by the desk to start the work he was asked to do in class that day. Again, he left early for the usual buddy police operations and had to ask his friend for her notes they took.

"Stella wanted to say 'hi,' by the way," he said with a smile.

Yuna giggled as she wrote a few things down in her own notebook and quietly hummed.

"Maybe I'll drop by tomorrow after school... It is Friday after all."

Psy eventually fell back asleep again and Tasuku's Jack Knife Dragon returned to the dragon world through his card. He never liked being in his miniature, but he does so occassionally.

"Has work gotten rough on you?" Tasuku decided to ask, letting his crimson red eyes glide around his and her notebooks. "You left quite late today. Is it normal?"

His smile never left nor did hers.

"Not really... I just tend to lose track of time, but I usually go home earlier than this," she told him. "It's the upcoming concert I'm going to have. We-- specifically me-- wanted to perform something new for everyone. It's been a while since the last."

"That's understandable.." he replied with a nod. "Just don't overwork, or you won't be able to perform at all. Got it?"

"Yeah, yeah, got it, Mister Ryuenji."

The boy chuckled and closed up his notebook to open a different one up for the actual homework.

"I'm just worried. You did get sick the last time, remember?" Tasuku reminded. "You were really disappointed after that."

"Don't remind me. I don't want to be reminded of anything bad, but then again I see 'bad' everyday," Yuna muttered. "Just don't make it worse.."

He smiled apologetically and chuckled.

"I'm sorry, but you know I'm right."

Her golden eyes rolled as a smile crawled back onto her lips, creating a small upward arch for the boy to see.

"I know you are, but sometimes you aren't."

"There's something on your face," he told her, thoughtfully tapping his chin with his pencil.

She blinked curiously and looked up.

"A smile of course," he chuckled. "Am I wrong yet?"

"Oh shut up, moron.."

The two laughed a little and continued on with their work quietly until one decided to break the silence.

"No, you're not wrong.. But it's true you're not always right," Yuna told him.

"Oh really? I'll say we'll finish our work before bed."

She laughed and continued scribbling down her answers.

"We'll see about that, Tasuku."

He was wrong. Really, they were knocked out on that single desk before any of them could finish their work until the next day.
