Ship: Eliza x Maria

There's nothing like summer in the city, someone with fins meets someone looking pretty. There's love in the streets you call smell it. Maria's on the beach, I'll let her tell it.

I hadn't slept in a week, ok? I was weak, but I regret nothing. It was like I was dreaming, but I was very much awake, you've never seen a sea witch with that much strength. I was longing for the world out there, I felt like I was missing out on life, that's when I woke up on the beach with out my tail for the first time and I said;

"HOLY MOTHER OF TRITON, I HAVE LEGS!"

"Yeah you do, why are you screaming like you just got them?" A man in a red shirt and shorts shot back.

"Uh," I decided it was in my best interest not to say anything. "I don't know why."

"Freak."

"Takes one to know one Georgie!" A kid called from the water.

I quickly walked away, trying to find a place to stay or a place to live or whatever humans do. I had a purse full of sand dollars and I was ready to spend them. I knew that I was a girl with honor, but as of then I had no home and I was all alone. The ocean just felt wrong, my sisters beating me, father cheating me, mother mistreating me, now I'm up and gone. I can finally move on. I needed a new home, my resolve had only grown.

After a few minutes I came across an accessory shop. I decided to go in, and immediately I saw thirty pairs of socks on a shelf. I wanted them all to myself. It was sublime. I tried to turn around but the socks seems to say "Stay," so hey, how could I say no to that? Tell me, how I was supposed to say no to that? I grabbed forty pairs off of the shelves and tables, they were all so pretty! I needed them all! I wish I could say I had self control but I couldn't stop myself. I said last pair, but that was a lie. When I finally finished shopping, I stood in line with this big dopey grin. All these socks. All of them were gonna be mine! When he finally scanned them all, he asked for $56.37. So I pulled out my sand dollars to pay, and he started laughing.

"What, you think you can buy socks with sand?" He wheezed out.

"But... I don't understand?" Tears started to brim my eyes. I spotted a girl in a blue sun dress staring, but I didn't care. The white socks with the hearts on them were on top, but peeking out from underneath were my favorite pair. They were knee socks, with a little red bow and red and white stripes.

"You need to leave ma'am. No shoes, no service. Also, no money, no service." He spat.

"But... but..." Tears were spilling from my eyes.

"Now."

I stepped outside with out my socks and just cried. I wanted those socks more than life. They were for my feet. I wanted my feet to be dressed just like my body. My little toes were cold.

"Excuse me?" The blue dress girl said softly. "I couldn't help but notice you liked these. So I bought them." She held out the striped knee socks and little patten leather shoes and a red dress to match.

"For me?" I mutter in confusion.

"Yes silly. Try them on! I'm Eliza by the way." She giggled. Her eyes shone a little. So I indulged her.

"Hey, after you change wanna get tea?"

They did get tea, and for their wedding cake, it was red and white striped frosting with a little red bow on top.
