Angel's Advocate (Part Two)
Angel's Advocate (Part Two)
Nico di Angelo had actually been enjoying his evening.
He had spent all day taking classes with one them or the other to keep an eye on them. As usual nothing interesting happened. He had gone back to his dorm deciding to chill when a knock came on the door.
Nico let out a groan and paused the movie he had been watching and opened it surprised to see his RA behind it. "Hey Will," he greeted. "Can I help with something?
Will shook his head his blonde curls bobbing as he peered past Nico into the room, "No, I just needed to talk to Chris."
"Oh he's at practice right now."
"That's a great movie by the way."
Nico blinked and turned to see his laptop screen to see where he is stopped Rogue One. "I hadn't seen it until now, but it's on Netflix so I figured I'd give in to the hype."
"I've seen it too many times," Will smiled.
Nico looked back to his freckled RA who was still awkwardly standing in his doorway with a large stupid smile on his face. Nico looked away from him and stepped back, "Wanna watch?"
Will looked at him surprised, "Uh, you sure?"
Nico shrugged and he tried to remember why he had even offered. "I don't mind either way... Plus when Chris comes back you're already here."
Will shrugged and stepped on the room and Nico ignored his face flushing, as he moved things around so he and Will could sit on the bed against the wall the laptop between them.
So yeah, Nico was enjoying his evening. At least until his sister ruined his and Will's discussion of Star Wars by cutting it short.
"What Bia?" He asked annoyed.
"We've got an issue," Bianca started.
"What do you mean?"
"Percy's here."
Nico froze and his mouth opened and closed.
Will met his eyes and looked at him concerned,
Nico looked away quickly, "Percy Jackson?" He asked into the phone. "How?"
"Meet is on the rooftop of our building ASAP, we can't over the phone."
She hung up quickly and Nico pulled the phone away from his ear trying to make sense of his thoughts.
"Something wrong?" Will asked him.
"Y-yeah family stuff. I've uh- I've gotta go deal with this."
"Oh, alright. Um I won't hold you up. But if you want to continue our Star Wars talk you know where I am."

Nico was the last to arrive.
Zoë stood with her arms crossed glaring at the city below them, Bianca sat with her legs dangling over the side of the building, and Silena sat beside her gazing up at the sky.
"Okay, explain," Nico stated.
"Both said they had another roommate, Percy Jackson. Same description too," Bianca informed him. "We even walked to his room which was only the wall."
"But Percy doesn't have that kind of magic," Silena protested. "Percy powerful, yes, but the texts were kept from him to keep him from coming here."
"He also doesn't have the capacity to pull it off," Nico commented.
"That much is true," Zoë put in. "The spell cast certainly has flaws. Either way we are focusing on the wrong thing. If he's here, he's here we know that much. What we need to figure out is why. We don't know if he's searching for it or if he's trying to fulfill another goal."
"Maybe he just wants to kill them for revenge," Nico suggested. "Wait no, then why would he even spend time with the spell?"
"Exactly what we need to figure out."
"I assume we aren't calling this in then?" Silena inquired.
Bianca shook her head and stood up, "No. If the spell is already flawed and we add more issues, who knows what memories may surface? And the more times we alter it, the stronger his recovering memories could get."
"We need to keep as close an eye on them as ever," Zoë decided. "Make sure they never know the truth that's our job as Surveys right?"
"I guess," Nico sighed. Both the girls fell silent in thought and Nico found himself moving to the very edge of the roof. He looked down at the world below wishing he could see more of it, a nightly breeze hit him as if mocking his current situation, teasing him and the fact he couldn't just jump. "Would just one flap hurt?" He found himself asking. "I can't be the only one who misses it. We aren't made for walking."
"Even so you know we can't," Bianca chided. "Exposure is what will kill our operation. Especially if one of the Fs see us they'll get their memories back for sure, can't have that."
Nico groaned and backed away from the ledge, "How did we even land this job again?"
"You were chosen because you can slip into the shadows to hide. I meanwhile volunteered," Zoë responded. "Now Bianca keep watch up here, I'll keep watch from down below, Silena take Nico's place and head back. Meanwhile Nico watch over those two idiots from inside their apartment, we have to see if Percy comes back." Zoë didn't wait for a response as she walked to the door and left the roof.
Silena stood up and moved over to him and began walking circles around him mumbling the spell to herself.
"So what were you doing when I called? You sounded annoyed," Bianca asked as she watched Silena.
"I was talking about Star Wars with a person," Nico answered keeping his eyes on Silena as her hair began to shorten and darken.
"Which person?" Bianca teased.
"Why does it matter?" He groaned and he heard Silena snicker as her face seemed to glow for a moment before it died down and he was looking at his own face.
Bianca smiled seemingly enjoying this as she moved closer to him to and Silena throwing her arms around both, "'Cause you're my little brothers."
"Nico, go put on the spares, I need those clothes," Silena put in.
"Judging by how defensive you're getting I doubt this is just a normal person," Bianca continued. "Is it that guy who you said was-
He pushed her away, "Goodbye Bianca!"

Nico was bored and annoyed.
He was annoyed due to Bianca (still), and bored because he had been standing in a shadowy dark corner for who knows how long. He frowned as he watched his two charges, Ethan and Luke who were watching some reality TV show and eating chips and nothing else. This all they had been doing since he arrived hours ago.
Nico resisted the urge to groan aloud as he readjusted the way he was standing. He hated being part of the Survey, he just wanted to enjoy this world. Yes, being part of the Survey was an important job which he had been honored to take, but now that he was here there was so much more he wanted to do. He now understood why they were forbidden to come here, to this world overflowing with its many forms of temptation. Something forbidden, even so Nico was enjoying every minute of it, well besides his job.
Because his job currently had him bored out of his mind. He couldn't even pull out his phone because the light of the screen would give him away.
He honestly didn't even see the point of his post, with the others watching the entrances he didn't need to be here. Percy couldn't teleport, but he wasn't supposed to have illusion magic either...
"Give me the remote Nakamura," Luke said throwing a chip in the other's face. "I'm tired of watching your dumb cooking shows. You can't boil water so I don't see the point in you watching them."
"I watch them because I like food," Ethan replied moving the remote out of Luke's reach. "Food is the best part of life. And plus what do you want to watch, reality TV?"
"Yes, actually."
"Well we aren't gonna."
Luke raised an eyebrow. "Are you telling me you're not the least bit interested in finding out if Crystal's husband is cheating on her with Sara?"
Ethan frowned, "I thought Sara just came out and left her boyfriend for Leah's friend?"
Luke shook his head and moved quickly snatching the remote and changing the channel, "You're thinking of Sarah with an H, here just watch."
"Close enough," Ethan shrugged crossing his arms. "Wait- did you just trick me into-"
"Shut up and watch the drama- oh shit she hit her!"
"What? Rewind!"
Yeah. Nico really hated his job.

Percy didn't come back that night.
Even so Nico was up all night, and of course he was still expected to go to all of his classes and continue on with his daily life here. He was certainly grateful for the invention of coffee.
"You look dead, was everything okay last night?"
Nico blearily looked up from his textbook to see Will standing above him. He blinked confused to see the older boy in his room, before he remembered he was in the bottom floor of the library.
"Yeah..." he answered slowly. "Why?"
Will raised an eyebrow as he put his stuff down and sat down across from Nico at the table. "Well uh, you left suddenly and you said you had a family issue. So is everything okay? You know you can talk to me, I'm a friend and an RA."
"Oh yeah!" Nico said a little too loudly and quickly. "My uh- my cousin is in town and there was a bit of an issue with him and the family so I had to deal with family drama. Nothing too bad, I didn't sleep because of it though."
"That's good at least- not the not sleeping part. The 'nothing too bad' part."
Nico nodded and looked over Will and his things, and his eyes were instantly drawn to a stack of cards with a rubber band around them. It was the one on top which caught his eyes the most. He reached out and grabbed the stack without asking and tried not to burst out laughing about the picture on the card, "Hades..." he read off. "4000 attack power, 5000 if opponent attacks first."
"I just found them on the stairs," Will started. "I picked it up, but I'm not sure what to do with it. I'm not even sure why I picked it up to be honest."
Nico slid off the rubber band began to look through the deck of cards, "I wonder how you play?"
Will opened his laptop and typed something in, "Let's look it up."
Nico looked up at him to respond, but his mouth fell open at the person he saw behind Will. He swallowed and set the cards down. "Will?"
"Hmm?" Will asked not looking away from his screen.
"Can you do me a favor?"
Will looked up and frowned seeing the serious look on Nico's face. "Sure."
Nico nodded and pulled out a pen to scribble a phone number on the Hades card. "In fifteen minutes call this number. It's my sisters. Just tell her I had to go deal with our cousin and that issue again." He gathered his things hurriedly and stood, "Can you do that please?"
Will nodded slowly, "Sure. Is uh, is everything okay?"
Nico shook his head, "Not at all. I'll see you." He walked off before Will could ask anything else.
