Alex was spending her weekend at the stable ridding her horse Scarlett. She was putting her horse back into the stable when the Stable hand came up to her.

"Hey Alex I have some bad news"

"What's up?"

"Scarlett has been sold"

"WHAT?!"

"I'm sorry, we cant afford to keep her"

"But I..." said Alex with tears in her eyes.

"I'm sorry Kid" said the Stable hand as he walked out of the stable.

Alex started to pet Scarlett and cry.

"I'm gonna miss you"

Later that day Alex was sitting on the sofa slightly crying when Walden came down the stairs.

"What's wrong?" he asked 

"Nothin"

"Oh come on, somethings wrong"

"They're selling her"

"...Explain"

"My mom found an abandoned foal when I was a kid and she gave her to me, But the stable doesn't have the money to keep her"

"You have a horse!"

"Walden I'm crying here!"

"Your right, I'm sorry"

"I've had Scarlett since I was seven, I can't lose her Walden" said Alex as he hugged her.

"I Know, I'm sorry"

A few days later it was Alex's birthday and Walden had a surprise for her.

"And this is from me" said Walden handing Alex an envelope

Alex opened the envelope and took out the certificate. 

"Oh my god" said Alex with tears in her eyes

"What is it?" asked Alan

"You bought her?"

"Technically you did, I put you down as the owner"

Alex got up and hugged Walden "Thank you" she whispered in his ear

"You welcome, my only ask is that you bring home some blue ribbons"

Alex chuckled "Deal" Alex wiped tears of joy from under eyes.

"What did you get her?" asked Alan

"He bought Scarlett" said Alex showing her father the certificate.

"Walden this is very...extravagant" said Alan looking at Walden who was putting on his 'Its my money' face.

A month later Alex was entered in a show jumping competition and it was time for the judging and Alex was scared she would disappoint Walden by not winning, Alan and Walden were in the stands watching her.

"And in 1st place is....... Scarlett and Alexandra Harper!"

The crowed erupted in applause, Alex had not disappointed anyone, the main judge walked up to her and gave her the blue ribbon.

Alex was packing up her things in the stables when Alan and Walden went to see her.

"Hey" said Walden walking into the stall

"Hey, I did it, I won!"

"Yeah you did!" said Walden hugging her.

"I'm proud of you sweetie" said Alan

"Thanks dad" "And thank you Walden, for everything"

"My pleasure"
