My name is Erica Bing and Yeah you've probably never heard of me. Anyway I was born in New York City and yeah dream home, right? Wrong, I had a normal childhood, my parents are regular people, my mother is a chef and my father is in advertising. I also have a twin brother, Jack, he is my best friend, well he was until he joined the Marines and lets just say he found a new family.

So my life sounds pretty normal but in reality it's in shambles, I just found out I was adopted and I completely freaked out so I did what any sane person would do, I moved to Scotland. I currently live in a small town called Forres. I work in a dinner called Mcleans and I have a small rented house.

And to top it off two years ago vampires were revealed to the world, that's right vampires. I've met a few even dated one, his name is Bill he is really protective, but not in a bad way.

So lets get into the story, shall we?

It was late one night when I was walking home from work when I heard what I thought was a person walking through a pile of dried leafs. I turned round but no one was there, but I did start to walk a little faster. A few minutes had past and I got the feeling I was being watched, the hairs on the back of my neck were standing on end. I kept walking but I did casually glance behind me a few times, which in hindsight was a bad idea.

I looked behind me for the third time and I saw someone following me. I turned a corner trying to lose whoever it was but seconds later I was pushed against a fence with a hand around my throat.

"Fangbanger" said the stranger

I kneed him in the nuts and ran but he chased me.

"ERIC!!" I shouted into the air hoping he heard me.

After a few seconds I felt a small gust of wind pass me and I knew Eric had heard me. I heard someone scream and I knew it was Eric so I ran towards it. I found him on the ground with a pretty big hole in his side. I kneeled beside him and put my hand on his cheek.

"Eric are you okay?" I asked

"Are you?"

"I'm fine"

I put my wrist to his mouth and he bit down and drank my blood.

After a few seconds the hole closed and he pulled away.

"Can you stand?" I asked

He nodded and stood up, but he swayed so I held him up and we walked to my place.

"Are you okay?" He asked again as we got to my place.

"Yeah, thank you" I said as I unlocked the door and brought him in. I took him to the kitchen and took a look at his side to make sure the wound healed properly.

"Can I ask you something kind of personal?"

"Sure"

"Why did you shout for me and not Bill?"

I froze, he didn't know.

"We broke up"

"I'm sorry, I didn't know, what happened?"

"I will always love him, its just....I'm not in love with him anymore"

"I understand, I'm sorry"

RING RING RING

I walked over to the phone and answered it.

"Hello?"
"Yes he's here, who's this?"
"Oh of course, I'll let him know"

"Problem?" He asked

"Godric wants to see you at his place" I answered as I put the phone back and turned round to face him.

"Godric?"

"Yeah he said it was urgent"

"I should probably go then, thank you"

"No problem and thank you for saving me" I said with a smile as he walked out the door.

"I will see you around Erica"

"Bye Eric"

A few days went by and I hadn't heard a word from Eric not that I was worried or anything but...okay I was worried.

I was in the dinner working, which to be honest, I feel like I never leave the place, I was getting some truck driver a beer when I heard the door open and a gust of cold air ran past my calfs. The driver smacked my ass as I left the table. I went through the back and took a minute.

"You okay?" Asked Susanne, one of the other waitresses.

"I hate truck drivers"

"You and me both sister" "Oh by the way the sheriff is here"

"Jackson?"

"No the vampire sheriff  you know Eric Northman, he's sitting in your section"

"Seriously?" I said looking out the window in the kitchen.

"Are you gonna talk to him?" Asked Susanne

"He is a customer, we are waitresses"

"If he was in my section, I would get someone else to wait on him"

"Why?"

"Vampires freak me out"

I sighed and left the kitchen, I brought an order to a family of four and started making my way over to Eric's booth.

"I didnt think this was your kinda scene"

"I wanted to check in on you after last night"

"Well I appreciate that, you want anything?"

"Whiskey"

"Coming right up"

I walked over to the bar to get his whiskey from Tara, who was the loud mouth of the staff.

"Hey Tara can I get a Whiskey"

"For your boyfriend?"

"He is not my boyfriend"

"Good, he's bad news Erica, sooner you realise that the better" said Tara putting the Whiskey on the bar

"The sooner people realise not every vampire is bad, then the world will be a better place" I retorted.

I brought the Whiskey over to Eric

"Here you are, anything else?" I asked

"I'm good, thank you"

"Holler if you need anything"

I walked away and put a few more orders up to the chef when Sam shouted for me.

"Erica, phone call!"

"Hello?"
"No mom I'm not coming home, at least not yet"
"I know that, I just need some time"
"I love you too, bye"

I hung up the phone and saw that Eric was looking at me.

I whispered "Stop eavesdropping Eric" He smiled and looked away. I  walked away through the back as my shift was over. I put on my jacket and put my bag on my shoulder and left the dinner.

I had that feeling again, but it was a little different than the other night.

"Are you gonna keep following me Northman?" I said into the cold night air.

He appeared in front of me looking kind of nervous. I crossed my arms slightly angry at what he was doing.

"I was keeping an eye on you, in case"

"You do realise that your being the creepy guy following me, right?"

"I hadn't realised that actually"

"If it makes you feel better, I knew it was you" I said as I kept on walking.

He walked up beside me and walked with me.

"You walking me home now?"

"You are important to me, I know you don't like being smothered but I want to protect you"

"Okay just don't be overprotective, that is one thing I hate"

"Got it"

I answered my phone and it was the one person I did not want to talk to.

"Hello Bill, what do you want?"
"No"
"No"
"Bye" I hung up the phone mid conversation. I was done playing by his rules.

"Not a word" I said

"I wasn't going to say anything, it's none of my business"

"Thank you"

"So do you have any ideas who was following you the other night?"

"Nope, but he did call me a Fangbanger"

"Mmmm"

"Maybe he doesn't like vampires or people who associate with them"

"Maybe, I'm looking into it, I just want you to be safe Erica"

"Why the sudden interest in my safety?"

"When you shouted for me, you sounded terrified and I don't want you to be scared walking through this town"

"There's more too it"

"I kinda like you" whispered Eric

"Oh, I didn't..."

"It's okay if you don't I just..." Eric was cut off when Erica kissed him on the cheek.

"I kinda like you too"

"Really?"

Erica nodded "I just broke up with Bill so..."

"You need time, I understand" He said as we approached my front door

"Thank you Eric and just so you know, you mean a lot to me too" I said as I walked into my apartment.

Eric left and I went to bed knowing that the decision I made to come here was one of the best I have ever made.

Eric left her front door with the biggest smile on his face, he had the women of his dreams, well he did have to wait until she was ready, but he had her none the less.
