Spencer was sitting at his desk, nose in a book when Rossi walked over.

"Reid, we have a case, didn't you hear Emily?"

"Huh...Oh sorry" Spencer put his book down and followed Rossi into the conference room.

"Alright we have a case right here in D.C"

Spencer's phone went off in the middle of the briefing.

"Sorry I have to take this" Spencer walked out and into the squad room and answered the phone. "Hello?"

"Hello Dr Reid, this is Miss Green from Morris Elementary and it seems your daughter is currently in the nurse's office with a stomach ache, we need you to come and get her"

"I'm on my way"

Spencer walked into the conference room and told Emily he had to leave because of a personal issue.

He walked over to his desk and grabbed his bag, he left the building passing a confused Garcia on the way. He got into his car and drove as fast as the speed limit would allow. He parked his car outside the school and entered heading straight for the office.

"Hello I'm Spencer Reid and I'm here to pick up my daughter"

"Name of the child" said the lady

"Anna Reid"

"Of course follow me"

The lady exited the office and lead Reid tot he Nurse's office. When they walked in Spencer saw his daughter clutching her stomach and lying on a bed.

"Hey Anna, how you feeling?"

"It hurts Daddy"

"I know, we're going to see a doctor okay?"

"Okay"

"Dr Reid?" said the Nurse

"Yes?"

"In my opinion I believe she has Appendicitis"

"Yeah I think so too, I'll take her straight to the hospital"

"Anna, time to go sweetie"

Anna put up her arms, she wanted Spencer to carry her, she was in to much pain to walk. Spencer picked up her backpack and followed the office lady back to the reception. Spencer signed Anna out and they left the school. He strapped Anna into the car and drove to the nearest hospital.

Spencer walked in with Anna in his arms, he filled out the paperwork and gave it back to the nurse. They then had to wait and Anna was getting restless.

"Anna Reid?" said the Doctor about twenty minutes later.

Spencer stood up and followed the Doctor with Anna in his arms. When they entered the room Spencer put Anna on the bed and let the Doctor work as he sat in the chair in the corner of the room.

"A word please Mr Reid"

Spencer walked outside the room with the Doctor.

"It appears to be appendicitis, I'll have to run the test to be sure, but I have a strong feeling. If it is she could have her surgery as soon as tonight" 

"Thank you"

"We do have to inform her, even if she is only seven, she does have to know. I could tell her if you want"

"No I'll do it"

"Alright, I'll have a nurse come by and take a blood sample"

Spencer walked in and pulled the chair next to the bed and sat down, he took Anna's hand in his.

"Sweetie it seems you have something called appendicitis and you'll have to have surgery so the Doctors can take it out"

"No, It'll hurt"

"You'll be asleep the entire time, you won't feel a thing, I promise"

"I don't want to daddy"

"I know but it will get worse and you'll get sicker"

"Will you be there?"

"I'll be here when you wake up, but I can't be in the room with you" 

"Okay"

Spencer's phone went off and he sighed, it was Emily.

"Hey"

'Your on speaker Reid, everything okay?'

"Yeah did you guys need help?"

 'A little'

"Alright I will look over the case and get back to you"

'Thanks kid' said Rossi

Spencer took out his tablet and looked over the case, he found something and let the team know, he was eager to spend time with Anna so she wasn't scared before her surgery.

The nurse came in and tried to take a blood sample from Anna but she wouldn't let her unless Spencer was the one to do it, the Nurse allowed it as he was a doctor himself, granted not a medical one but he knew how to. He handed the sample to the nurse and she left the room.

"You okay sweetie?"

"Yeah, tired"

"You should get some sleep"

Spencer tucked Anna in and took a book out of his bag and started to read. A few hours later he was being shaken awake by the Doctor.

"We have a room for her upstairs, the blood test confirmed appendicitis and she's scheduled for surgery in two hours"

"Daddy?!"

"I'm here"

The Doctors moved the bed into the elevator and into the room.

"Spencer?"

Spencer turned around to see the team sitting there.

"What are you guys doing here?"

"Rossi and Luke were in a car accident" said JJ

"Are they alright?"

"They're fine, a little banged up"

"What are you doing here?" asked Garcia

"Daddy?"

Spencer turned around to see Anna standing there with the nurse. The nurse explained to him that she was refusing the pre-operation fluids because they had to be given to her through an IV.

Spencer looked at the team and saw they were confused. He followed the nurse and Anna back to the room, Spencer put the IV into her arm and she was all set for surgery. The team walked in all with confused faces. Spencer walked out into the hall and closed the door.

"You have a kid?" Asked Matt

"Yeah, It's a long story"

"I'll say, what is she six, seven?" said Tara

"Seven"

"What's her name?" asked JJ

"Anna"

The team sat in the waiting room. They heard Anna screamed and when they saw the Doctor's rush into Anna's room they knew something was wrong.

"Her appendix burst we need to get her to surgery now!" exclaimed the Doctor

"Daddy!"

The Doctor's wheeled the bed away and Spencer was running his hands through his hair, he was worried. JJ walked up to him and hugged him, he joined the team in the waiting room.

Hours later and the Doctor returned.

"Dr Reid?"

Spencer got out of his seat and walked up to the Doctor.

"She's going to be okay, we got her appendix out just in time"

"Thank you, can I see her?"

"Of course but she is still sedated"

Spencer watched the Doctor's wheel the bed back into the room, he sat in the chair next to the bed and took Anna's hand.

Spencer felt a hand on his shoulder, he looked up and it was JJ.

"You need anything?"

"Yeah would you mind going to my apartment?" said Spencer holding up his keys.

"Sure what do you need?" JJ took his keys and was writing down on her hand what he needed.

"A change of clothes for Anna"

"I'll be back soon"

"Thank you"

The next day and Anna was released from the hospital, they were currently heading to Rossi's, they had decided to have a family day, the team, their other halves and their kids all in one place.

KNOCK KNOCK

Rossi opened the door and saw Spencer and Anna standing there.

"You made it, come on in"

"I like your house" said Anna

"Well thank you"

Rossi led them outside to the patio, Spencer joined the others whilst Anna made a b-line for the other kids.

"Be careful!" shouted Spencer

"I will!"

"She's adorable Spence" said Garcia

"How did you raise her with out us knowing?" asked Emily

"A little help from Hotch and Gideon"

"They knew?" asked JJ

"Yeah"

"What happened to her mother?" asked Rossi

"She died in childbirth, I didn't even know she was pregnant until she was in labour and she called me"

"Your a good dad Spence" said JJ
