Summary: Hades has an emotional break and reverts back into a child under the care of Persephone.

"YOU SHOULD BE THE ONE IN TARTARIS, NOT HIM" Shouted Minthe. Hades just stood there letting her shout at him because he felt that she was right.

"ENOUGH!" Shouted Hecate.

Minthe stormed out and Hades was engulfed in a bright light. When the light disappeared a small child around the age of 5 was standing there.

"This is going to be tricky" said Hecate

"Where am I? Who are you?" Asked the child.

Hours later

KNOCK KNOCK

Hecate went to answer the door, it was Persephone.

"Thank the God's, come in"

"Your call sounded urgent What's wrong?" Asked Persephone as she followed Hecate through Hades' house.

"There was an incident at the office"

"Is Hades okay?" She asked worried for her friend.

"Yes and No"

"Hecate?"

As Hecate and Persephone entered the living room, she knew what Hecate meant when she saw him.

"Is that?"

"Yeah"

"But he's..."

"I know, I saw it happen"

The child got up from the sofa and walked up to Persephone.

"Who are you?"

"I'm Persephone, don't you remember?"

"He doesn't have his memories Pers'" interrupted Hecate

"Well I'm going to be taking care of you until we can figure out what happened okay little man?" Said Persephone as she kneeled down to be at eye level with the boy.

"I'm Aidoneus, are you a goddess?" He asked

"I am yes, the goddess of spring" Hecate left the house so she could try to figure out what happened.

"Am I supposed to know you? The other lady said I used to be an adult but something happened to me"

"Yes you did and yes you and I are friends"

"Am I like my father as an adult?"

Persephone's heart broke at his question. She had no idea he thought that.

She took his hands and said "You are nothing like Kronos, I swear. You are sweet, kind, funny and generous"

"Really?" Asked the boy

"Really, really. You like movies?" She asked

"What's a movie?" Asked the little boy.

Persephone guided him to the sofa and put on a movie. They sat and watched it until Aidoneus feel asleep.

Persephone lifted him up and put him to bed. Well tried to, Cerberus was trying to get the boy to play with him.

"Cerberus stop, he's sleeping and it's you responsibility to protect him, okay?" Whispered Persephone.

Cerberus was a smart dog and did exactly what was asked of him.

"Good boy, come get me if anything is wrong, okay?"

She left the room and was startled by Hecate standing behind her.

"Do you have to be so sneaky?"

"I know what happened to Hades"

"Tell me"

Hecate and Persephone sat on the sofa.

"He had an emotional break"

"What? How?"

"The incident at work I mentioned, was Minthe shouting at him about how he was like his father"

"I officially hate her, gods if I ever see her again"

"Pers' that's not helping Hades or yourself"

"Your right, how do we bring him back?"

"You have to make him feel safe and loved to counteract the cause of the break"

"Easy as pie" said Persephone sarcastically.

"Good luck" said Hecate as she left the house. Cerberus ran into the room and barked at Persephone.

"Oh no" Persephone ran to Aidoneus, he was mid nightmare. He was thrashing about and screaming.

She woke him up and sat with him in her lap as he cried.

"Shh it's okay, your safe"

"My father, he...he killed her"

"Who?"

"He killed my mother" Aidoneus cried even more as he remembered his nightmare.

"I am so sorry sweetie"

Aidoneus's body was covered in little shiny specks which when came into contact with his rampaging emotions exploded. The shiny specks became diamonds, crystals of every kind. His skin was no longer blue, but now it was covered in 'shiny rocks' as he called them.

"Persephone what's happening to me?" Asked Aidoneus scared out of his mind and still crying.

"It's just your powers, sweetie look at me"

Aidoneus looked her her with such fear in his eyes.

"Just listen to my voice okay, you are safe, you have nothing to fear, no one will hurt you, I won't let them, I promise"

"Promise?" Said the boy through his tears.

"I promise, no one will hurt you not while I'm around, you will always be safe with me" said Persephone as she hugged him. His rocks started to disappear back into his body.

"Thank you Persephone" said Aidoneus as he hugged her.

"You don't have to thank me, but I appreciate it, now get some sleep"

Persephone tucked him into bed and just as she was about to leave he spoke up.

"Will you stay with me?"

"Sure"

Persephone climbed into bed and sat up in the bed next to the boy who had rested his head on her leg.

He slept the rest of the night after that and so did Persephone. She woke up with her arms wrapped around the boy as if to protect him. Cerberus still stood guard at the end of the bed, watching the boy as he was instructed to.

"Good boy Cerberus" said Persephone as she climbed out of bed and headed to the kitchen to make breakfast.

Persephone rummaged through the cupboards for something to make him.  

Persephone turned around and jumped out of her skin.

"GODS!"

"Apologies Kore" said Zeus

"Hiya" exclaimed Poseidon

"Hello" said Persephone

Poseidon went rummaging through his brothers cupboards.

"Hecate called, said something was wrong with Hades" said Zeus

"Who's Hades?" said Aidoneus as he entered the kitchen with Cerberus.

"You should be in bed little man" said Persephone as she went over and kneeled in front of the boy.

"He woke me up" He replied as he looked at Cerberus. Cerberus looked at Persephone with wide eyes, he'd been ratted out.

"You should've let him sleep" Said Persephone looking at the dog.

"So who's Hades?" asked the sleepy boy

"You are" said Zeus stunned at what he was looking at.

"Its a name the mortals gave you" replied Persephone as she took is hand and guided him into the kitchen.

"I don't like it" said Aidoneus "Who are you?"

"This is Zeus and that is Poseidon, your brothers"

"But I don't have any brothers"

"But you also don't have your adult memories, do you?" explained Persephone

"No, I don't"

"What happened?" asked Zeus

"He had an emotional break, Hecate's looking into it" whispered Persephone

"Zeus dear did you find...Him?" said Hera "Oh my"

"Who are you?" asked the boy

"This is Hera, Zeus's wife"

"Your pretty" stated the boy

"Thank you little one"

"Are you hungry Aidoneus?" asked Persephone

The boy nodded, he left his seat and went to play with the dogs, who were all surprisingly gentle with him.

"What happened to him?" asked Hera

"There was an incident at the office, he had an emotional break, Hecate is trying to figure out how to change him back"

"The only way to do that is to do the opposite of what caused the break" replied Poseidon

Everyone stared at him, he was notoriously known as an airhead, but occasionally he did sprout something intelligent.

"Yeah Hecate said to make him feel safe and loved"

"Yeah that'll do it" replied Hera

"I just have no idea how"

"Seriously?...I have never seen him happier than when he is with you" said Zeus

"Zeus is right, you make him feel important, safe and loved, more than any of us ever did" replied Hera with a sad face, she always felt she had failed Hades.

"I guess, are you guys hungry?" she asked

"No we just had breakfast, do us a favour and tell him to call when he's back to his old self" said Zeus

"I will" and with that Hera, Zeus and Poseidon disappeared into thin air.

Persephone finished up making pancakes and called the boy back inside "Aidoneus breakfast is ready"

The boy came running in and sat at the table, he scoffed down his pancakes and his orange juice when the phone rang.

Persephone answered the phone.

"Hello?"

"What do you want?"

"No he does not want to talk to you and neither do I, good day" Persephone slammed the phone down, took a deep breath and turned round to see Aidoneus staring at her.

"Who was that?" he asked

"Nobody important" she replied

"Will you play with me?"

"Of course, It would be a pleasure"

The two of them walked outside and into the large gardens at the back of the house.

"What would you like to play?" asked Persephone

"Can we watch the stars?"

"Of course"

They both lay on the grass and looked up at the stars, even though it was the middle of the day, no sun gods were allowed in the underworld so it was always night time which Persephone loved, she was always fascinated by the stars.

"They're beautiful, like you" said Aidoneus

"Thank you"

DING DONG

"You stay here, I'll see who's here"

Persephone got up and walked through the house and to the door, she immediately knew who it was because of the light coming from behind the door. Apollo.

Persephone opened the door and had her angriest face on.

"What?"

"I was worried about you"

"Really?"

"Yes I came to take you home"

"I am fine where I am thank you very much" Persephone was about to slam the door in his face but he put his foot in the doorway. "Do you mind?"

"I am taking you home or at the very least away from here"

"And I believe I said I am staying!" said Persephone who's eyes had turned red and her hair was starting to grow.

Apollo grabbed her arm but another arm was on top of Apollos. Hades' arm.

"Can I help you?" asked Hades taking Apollo's had off Persephone's wrist.

"I came to take Persie home"

"And I said I am HAPPY WHERE I AM!" shouted Persephone who wrapped Apollo's car in vines which then crushed it.

"What the hell Persie!?"

"My name is Persephone, REMEMEBER IT!" And with that Hades slammed the door.

He turned around and was immediately hugged by the goddess.

"I missed you" she said into his chest.

Hades hugged her back and held her.

"I missed you too, but technically I was here the whole time"

"No Aidoneus was here, it wasn't the same"

Hades pulled away and wiped a tear from Persephone's cheek.

"I know but I'm here now, are you okay?"

"I am now" said Persephone as she kissed Hades and surprisingly he kissed her back.

Persephone pulled away with wide eyes "I'm sorry"

"I'm not"

Persephone looked at Hades who had a scoundrel like smile.

"Your not?"

"No, I know we made a big thing about boundaries but I just can't stay away from you any more"

Persephone kissed him again "I can't either" 

They smiled, Hades picked her up and sat on the sofa with her.

"So 5 year old me, how embarrassing was I?"

"You were a very curious child, really cute too"

"Thank you for taking care of me"

"Any time, Oh and Zeus wanted you to call"

"Zeus was here?"

"So was Hera and Poseidon"

Hades shrunk back into the couch embarrassed.

"You called Hera pretty" said Persephone with a mischievous smile.

Hades looked at her with the biggest smile, he loved this goddess and he was never going to let anyone hurt her, not even his nephew Apollo.

"Are you okay?"

"Why wouldn't I be? I have you back" said Persephone snuggling her head into Hades neck.

"Because you crushed Apollo's car, Bravo by the way"

"Thank you and I think for the first time in a long time, I am happy"

"Glad to hear it Goddess" "Would you like to go out for lunch with me?"

"Like a date?" she asked looking him in the eyes and with a smile on her face.

"Yeah" said Hades looking kinda shy.

Persephone kissed his cheek "Yes"
