Cory's POV

Not gonna lie. I hate Sky so much for this. He set me up on a date with some random girl from Eharmony.

I hate anything to do with people

He said she was cute like impossibly cute. There was no way she was that cute. I shoved in my ear buds as I waited for 5 to roll around.

*At five*

The doorbell rang and I nearly had a heart attack. I popped my ear buds out and opened the door. There stood an adorable red head.

Hot damn

"Hey I'm Shelby!" She reached out her hand and I shook it, mumbling out an introduction.

"I'm Cory." Came out in a mumbled voice but she smiled and let go off my hand.

Nooooo.

"Nice to meet yah Cory! So where are we going for our date?" Shelby asked and I almost gasped.

YESSSSSS

"Well it depends. You wanna go out to dinner or do you want me to surprise you?" I asked. She paused and thought for a moment then grinned.

"Surprise me good sir!" She giggled out. I felt a light blush coat my cheeks but I didn't miss a beat.

"This way my lady!" I said, stepping out past her and getting into my car. She hopped in shotgun and we started on our way.

Shelby had fallen asleep by the time we got to the park. It was already dark because you know November. I shook her as I parked. She shot up and asked where we were.

"A magical place." I said. I stepped out of the car and she did the same. I walked slowly towards the park and counted the steps I took. Shelby walked by my side, slightly shivering.

"You cold?" I asked like an idiot. She shook her head no. Then the lights lit up. Christmas lights that had been strung from each tree and piece of playground equipment. Shelby gasped and her face lit up. I smiled as she bounced up and down.

"This is amazing!" She yelled as she ran around like a little kid. I was so glad I had planned this.

"There's a scavenger hunt too." I said and Shelby got really stoked.

"Let's do it!" She yelled and I laughed.

"Well you have to find a blanket, a picnic basket and a flower I hid for you." She nodded and ran off.

*Another time skip brought to you by bananas*

I was leaning against a tree nodding off when suddenly I was wrapped into a hug. I was on the ground with a blanket around my shoulders. I looked to my left and saw Shelby holding the rose while eating a sandwich. I reached into the basket and pulled one out.

"This is nice. Thank you Cory."

"No problem Shelby." We both looked at each other and I felt myself slowly leaning forward. Just when I thought about pulling away her soft lips were over mine. I closed my eyes and we moved our heads in sync. Eventually we parted and I looked at Shelby'a awestruck face.

"You're a good kisser." She breathed.

*Four years later*

Shelby's POV

We were back at the park where we had our first date. Cory had sent me off to find a blanket, picnic basket and a flower. It didn't take long cause he hid them in the same places. I walked back over and we sat down.

As we stared at the lights, munching on out sandwiches I suddenly felt Cory leave my side. He sat in front of me and grabbed my hands.

"Look. It was pure chance I got to meet someone as amazing as you. Someone who lights up my life as much as you do. Shelby I love you so much. So I'm begging you." He reached into his pocket and pulled out a small box then opened it. Inside was an engagement ring.

"Shelby. Please make me the happiest man ever and say you'll marry me." I felt my eyes get teary

"Of course!" I threw my arms around his neck and hugged him. He held me tightly and I looked up at him. I felt our lips touch and the sparks were flying as they always did. We pulled away.

"I love you Shubs." He whispered.

"I love you more Cory." I whispered.
