She's startled awake by a scream, her heart stopping for a moment. Until she notices that her lover, who had been sleeping next to her, is crying.

"Babe? Baby, what's wrong?" Worry takes her over as she sits up, and she gently touches a hand to the brunette's forehead.

A smaller hand is placed over top of her's, locking their fingers together. "You're okay....?"

"I'm fine --"

She's cut off mid-sentence as two arms wrap around her neck, hugging her tightly. This confuses her, and simply increases her worry. "What's wrong, sweetheart?"

"I-I had a nightmare about you... It was terrifying. I thought you were -- I thought you were...."

With a small sigh, she grabs her lover by the face, forcing brown eyes to meet blue. "Hey, look. I'm alive and I'm okay. Not a scratch."

"But what about --"

"Nothing is going to happen to me. I can assure you of that." She smiles softly, wiping tears from bloodshot eyes.

With a small, barely audible "Okay," the hug is returned. And they stay like that, the blonde's arms wrapped around her love's waist, for a long while.

Just as she's starting to think the young brunette has fallen asleep, a quiet "I love you" is whispered into her ear. With a small smile, she returns the phrase, meaning it fully.

"I love you, too. Forever. You're all I'll ever need."
