Please scaled down the stairs and through the corridors of Tantiss calmly but quickly. Even prisoners were taken where they'd be put in a separate safe house.

Royce Hemlock rushed through the corridors, trying to find Emerie and Omega. A huge explosion hit the base and the lights went out. The whole base shuddered like an earthquake and he lost his balance. Pipes burst and water sprayed on everyone. The calmness in everyone was gone. People screamed and rushed to the safe house.

Royce managed to get up after nearly being stepped on at least ten times. He shouted Emerie's name and he vaguely heard her over the screaming and dripping of water.

"This is a code red alarm. Please proceed to the safe house in an orderly fashion. This is not a drill. Doors closing in 3 minutes."

He grabbed her hand and pulled her towards the safe house. It was still miles away. The three of them ran as fast as they could. They got through the doors in the nick of time.

"Doors are closed. Please take a deep breath. Oxygen reduced to 30%. Wait for the attack to be over."

Royce sat down on his bunk. Omega and Emerie sat either side of him. His cat jumped on his lap and sat there.

"I swear that cat can survive anything," Omega said.

He chuckled before realising he was doing it. What was wrong with him?

"Mm," he simply said.

Another bomb hit and whole place shuddered. Cracks appeared in the roof of the safe house. People screamed and his cat hissed, bearing her claws.

"Easy Shadow," Royce said.

"Are you sure this place is stable?" Emerie asked.

"I don't know. It's never been tested," Royce said.

Emerie looked at him.

"What?" He asked.

"You've changed."

He scoffed and went to talk to Dr Scalder. Omega whimpered when another bomb hit. Emerie hugged the girl comfortingly.

"It's okay. We'll be fine. We're gonna wait this out. That's what we practiced for," Emerie said to Omega.

Royce sat back down on the bunk with them and looked at the wall, grabbing a torch and using it to play with Shadow. That poor cat could never reach the light, but it was still funny.

Emerie heard Omega laugh. It was genuine and she smiled. They could survive this.

The attack was over and the next day, Omega was moved from the Vault and moved into Royce's suite. She had her own bedroom, a very comfy bed and toys. Her handmade Lula sat on her pillow looking at her and she grabbed it and hugged it. There was a note underneath the doll and she read it.

Dear Omega,

I hope you like it here. I spent over a day setting up your room with the help of Emerie. I've supplied your bathroom with shampoo, soap, conditioner and pads as well as a toothbrush, toothpaste, a hairbrush, some makeup supplies for special occasions and other daily use stuff. There are cameras in your room and bathroom, so make you pull the curtain over when showering. Your bedroom has books that I think you'll like, toys, some learning sources, and a few medical supplies. I will come in and take your blood every second day. The wardrobe has casual and formal clothing you can wear (save the formal clothes for special occasions) each day. I'll check on you every morning, afternoon and night. Bedtime is 10 PM and your alarm is set for 7 AM. All devices that you have will turn off and on at these times.

Omega walked around her room, stopping at the bookshelf. They were various books in there. The Hunger Games trilogy, Percy Jackson, Maze Runner, Divergent series, The Wings of Fire, A Good Girl's Guide to Murder, Secrets of A Schoolyard Millionaire, Don't Call Me Ishmael!, Holes, The Boy in Striped Pyjamas, Heartstopper, Little Women, Anne of Green Gables, Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events, The Book Thief and the Harry Potter series.

She decided to get changed into some casual clothes and comfortable clothes before grabbing 'Percy Jackson and the Olympians: The Lightning Thief'.

Royce came in to see her pages deep in the book, 'The Hunger Games' next to her. It was almost as if she'd never read a book in her life. But then, maybe she hadn't.

"Oh hey," she said, putting the book down. "I love the room. Thank you."

"Of course. I see you like the books," Royce said.

"Yes. I love Hunger Games! I love Peeta. I like Percy too!" She exclaimed.

He chuckled. "Glad you like it, kid."

That sounded all much too familiar...Hunter would say that to her. The last thing Royce said as he left was, "we're looking for your family so you can go home."

Her hope for once was lifted. She buried herself in the story of the book and smiled. She was worry free.

Not me thinking of all the books I've heard/have lol. Eheh
