Tech and Link spend some quality time together, while figuring out what's going on with Zelda's insanely weird orders.

TW: FLUFF!!!!!

"I can't believe we're travelling together again!"

Tech and Link were headed to Foothill Stable.

"Yes..." Link said, pulling his hair out, letting it blow around freely in the wind.

Unlike Tech, who had his hair nearly pulled up in a half up, half down style with two plaits down the side, each tie-up secured by a Zonai Hair-tie, Link's hair was usually messily thrown up in a half up, half down style.

"I'm sorry...I haven't been able to travel with you. Being part of the Zonai Survey Team, the Lucky Clover Gazette, Captain Hoz's search for Princess Zelda, Impa's investigation of the Geoglyphs, helping you investigate the Regional Phenomena and other things, I've had no time," Tech explained.

"It's okay. At least we can spend some time at Foothill Stable together!" Link exclaimed, looking as they arrived at the stable.

"Yes! We'll have a great time and—"

Link, confused as to why Tech suddenly stopped talking. He followed Tech's gaze to the stable and instantly opened his mouth to form an 'O'.

There, at the stable, was a bunch of men in nothing but underpants.

"Um...what am I seeing?" Tech asked, adjusting his goggles to check if he wasn't just seeing things.

"I—I don't know," Link replied, his eyes glued to what he was seeing. "I think it's a bunch of men running around in their underpants."

"Yeah..." Tech said. "It's definitely...weird."

"Ahh! Partner!!!" A voice rang out.

A white Rito set down in front of Tech and Link.

"Hi Penn," Link said. "Any idea why people are running around in their underpants?"

"Uhh...they said it was orders from Princess Zelda. They're all the men from the Zonai Survey Team. The women simply refuse to follow the order. We need to sort this out. These guys are scaring off customers and—WHO ARE YOU?!"

Penn looked eagerly at Tech, who was staring at his Data Pad, deep in thought. Link nudged Tech with his elbow, drawing the genius's attention.

"Huh? What?" Tech asked, looking around, confused. Upon seeing Penn's eager expression, Tech replied saying, "oh, I'm Tech. Link's friend."

'Friend? He's never ever called me that,' Link thought, smiling.

"Well, any friend of Link's, is a friend of mine!" Penn said. "I see you work for the Lucky Clover Gazette! What does Traysi get you to do?"

"Um...well...I mostly do journalism for the paper. I might go to different places in Hyrule and make note of anything suspicious or dangerous," Tech explained. Have you heard of the story of the Gleeok in the Colosseum?"

"Yes! I have!" Penn said.

"I found that and sent my intel to the writers to put in the paper," Tech said. "I don't actually write the paper, as I don't have time. The writers simply put credit back to me, for finding it."

"Now that I think about, I do remember reading your name somewhere," Penn said. "But why don't you have time?"

"I also work for the Zonai Survey Team. I'm in charge of the Chasm exploration. My job involves me not seeing the light of day for days on end. It's a dangerous job," Tech says.

"Ahh," Penn says.

"He gets sick a lot," Link says.

"I do not!" Tech argued.

"Anyway! Can we talk about why there's a bunch of men running around in their underpants?" Link asked.

"As I said, the Zonai Survey team around this stable got the order to explore the world in underpants. The order was issued by Zelda, who's the Princess," Penn said.

"Yes, we know who Zelda is," Tech said. "But what we don't know is why Zelda would issue such an order!"

"What's worse is that two men went to the nearby Monster Cave to fight them...in nothing but underpants," Penn said. "And they had no weapons."

"Oh no. They could die!" Tech said. "We're going to have to go after them, Link."

"There's one problem with that..." Penn said, receiving questioning looks from the two men. "They won't listen to anyone who's not in underpants and has no weapons."

"Seriously?" Tech asked. "I am not undressing."

"Come on Tech! It'll be fun!" Link urged, already starting to get undressed.

"Unlike you, I don't like showing off!" Tech argued.

"Oh com'n! Live a little!" Link said.

"I do live!" Tech said.

"Goddesses, you're a giant killjoy!" Link shouted.

"I—you know what?!" Tech shouted. "Fine! If I'm so 'not fun', then do it yourself!"

Tech stormed off towards the stable, only to walk past the stable and disappear out of sight.

Link (who was still only in underpants) ran after Tech.

"Tech! Wait!" He called.

He felt a winged hand on his shoulder.

"Leave him be for a while," Penn said.

Link sighed and went helped the men.

Link, now fully clothed, sat down next to Tech, who was staring at the Castle. The two sat there, Tech not acknowledging Link's presence, for a while just staring at the Castle and the Gloom radiating up from below, holding the ruined structure in the air.

"I'm sorry," Link said, breaking the silence. "I shouldn't have pushed you."

Tech didn't reply, but he shifted in his spot on the grassy hill.

"Look, I didn't know your boundaries and I was trying to do something fun with you as our adventure to save the world...wasn't too fun. I mean, it had it's moments, but..." Link's voice trailed off, fearing that if he said more he'd make Tech even more pissed.

It was rare for Tech to get angry. He'd never seen Tech angry before, actually. Why now? Link had said many other things like this and Tech had just brushed it off with a hint of annoyance, but this time...he just snapped.

"Are...you...okay?" Link asked, putting a gentle hand on Tech's shoulder.

Tech flinched at the touch, shaking Link off of him. He sighed before replying, "I'm not okay..."

"What's wrong? You can tell me! We're friends...aren't we?" Link asked.

"Of course we are! I'm sorry if you felt we weren't," Tech replied. "The truth is...I thought you blamed me for what happened to you."

"Why the hell would I blame you for what happened to me?! I was being an idiot! I thought I could fight him! And look where that got me?! I lost my arm, my strength and I broke the Master Sword," Link said. "None of that was your fault. You weren't even there! Zelda is missing because of me!"

"That's not true," Tech said. "That is neither mine nor your fault."

"Thank you," Link said. "You're a really good friend."

"One day..." Tech looked at the Castle floating in the air. "One day imma go up there with you and save Zelda...we can do it together."

"I've been there already. She's not there. Neither is the Demon King," Link said.

"Oh...then he's underneath the Castle. He must be. We can go there together," Tech said.

"Why did you think I blamed you for what happened?" Link suddenly asked.

"You seemed angry around me," Tech said. "So I thought you were angry at me."

"What? No! I'm..." Link sighed. "I'm in pain."

"What? You never told me," Tech said softly.

"I have Gloom inside of me, and each time I get Blessings of Light and the Goddess Statues offer me more strength and stamina, I gets better, but I'm far from being pain free," Link said.

"I never thought about that. I'm sorry," Tech said, putting a hand on Link's leg. "Give me your hand."

"O-okay," Link said, putting out his Zonai Arm.

Tech closed his eyes and began to channel light into Link. Link felt his pain wash away.

"It doesn't give you your strength back, but it soothes your pain. I call it Tech's Light. The pain may come back at times, but I'll always soothe you when possible," Tech explained as a green doppelgänger of Tech appeared. "No matter how far apart we may be, we will always be connected through my doppelgänger."

"I never did a dungeon with you," Link said, noticing a white Tear Stone with multicoloured specs resting gently on Tech's chest.

"My dungeon was our last adventure," Tech said.

Link smiled gently, "we are brothers...aren't we? Maybe not by blood, but—"

"Yes. We are," Tech said, standing up and dusting himself off. "By the way, did you solve the mystery of the underpants?"

"Yes. I saved the dudes and apparently, according to a woman from the Survey Team, the order was explore all other paths, not explore in underpants," Link said.

"Mmhmm," Tech said. "I got the same order, but heard what that woman said she heard. As did the rest of the crew who weren't at Foothill Stable."

"You knew?!" Link asked.

"Yes," Tech said.

"Why didn't you tell me?!" Link asked.

"Hey Link, live a little," Tech said, winking and running away.

"Uhh...hey!" Link said, running after Tech.

"Do not blame yourself for stuff you couldn't have possibly done. Live your life, know right from wrong and you'll be fine for the long run!"
