Don't call me during class
A ring rang throughout the class disrupting the lesson and annoying Mr. Smith. There was one rule that Mr. Smith had always in place, no phones during class. It had always been like that and every student followed in fear of Mr. Smith taking the phone away.
Now Brooke always followed this rule, she was the picture-perfect student, why wouldn't she, but this morning she was late and had forgotten to put her phone on silent. Hence the panic that rose throughout her body, when she fished her phone out of her bag and it was ringing.
"Miss Johnson, I am very disappointed." Mr. Smith told her. "Well since you've already interrupted the class, kindly answer the call and put it on speaker."
Brooke was shocked at what Mr. Smith had just said but she couldn't disobey. Hesitantly, she answered and the voice on the other line was so familiar to all the students. "Hey, B how's class?"
"Okay, I guess but you know I'd rather be with you," Brooke answered.
The voice chuckled. "I know love, remind me again why you still have to go to class when your uber duper smart."
"Because someone has to keep you in line and the best way for me to do so is passing the bar." Brooke replied in a sort of 'duh' tone.
"And that's why I love you." The voice responded. "Anyways, I'll be finishing work early so I can pick you up. Is that alright?"
"But what about you know?" Brooke worded carefully not wanting her classmates to know more.
"It's fine, I'm taking a different car so they won't know." The voice said almost whispering the last part. "I'll see you then. Love you."
"Alright, see you," Brooke replied. Her classmates, and even Mr. Smith, waiting for her to say it back. "I love you too. Bye."
With that Brooke hung up and held her phone out so Mr. Smith could get it but he refused. "While I don't appreciate you leaving your phone on silent, I'll let you keep it for now. This is your only warning."
Brooke nodded furiously and they continued with the lesson.
30 minutes later and it was the end of class. Brooke's classmates were bombarding her with questions, like who was she talking to and why was their voice so familiar? They all kept badgering Brooke but she just ignored all their questions and got her stuff together before heading outside where a crowd had already somehow formed.
Almost all of the student body was there, even a few teachers including Mr. Smith himself. They were all watching as the football captain threw himself at a person, who was leaning against a black Bugatti La Voiture Noire.
The person in question was non-other than Carson Boyce, the youngest child of the Boyce family and the singer of the newly released top-charting song 'Boyfriend' featuring Dove Cameron. Brooke chuckled at the scene but watched as it all unfolded.
"Hey, Angel! What are you doing here? I didn't know you were gonna pick me up, you could've texted." Tyler said leaning beside her.
Carson rolled her eyes at his attempt and just ignored him completely.
"Aw, don't be like that angel. C'mon, let's head home." Tyler tried again this time grabbing Carson's hand.
Carson was known to be a black belter in the martial arts so it wasn't a surprise when she judo flipped Tyler, but even just looking at it made all of the student body flinch. Carson ignored them and stepped on Tyler's chest making sure he wouldn't move.
"Never touch me. Also if you must know I'm here to pick up my girlfriend." Carson yelled at him before leaning back on her car.
Everyone was intrigued, they just found out that Carson Boyce was not only taken but she was gay and was dating someone from their school. Carson pulled out her phone and was about to call someone when the cheerleading captain ran up to her.
"Hey baby, sorry I got caught up with practice," Kelsey said as she approached her.
Carson was irritated at this point but being mischievous as she continued to mess with them, didn't say anything but just huffed making it clear that she was annoyed at this point.
"Shall we head back to your place then?" Kelsey asked making sure she didn't touch the girl, not wanting to end up like Tyler.
Carson shrugged her shoulders and moved away from the door as if inviting Kelsey to open the door. Kelsey did so but it wouldn't budge. She looked over to Carson who just had a stoic face.
"Guess your not the girlfriend either," Carson said, calmly. "Just be glad that I'm a gentleman or you would've ended up like the jock over there."
Carson then shooed her away before jumping up on the hood of her car looking over the crowd. "Does anyone else want to try?"
Brooke then squeezed threw the crowd and stepped up but before she could say anything, Mr. Smith pulled her back. "Best not to get involved, Miss Johnson."
Brooke shook him off and headed towards the girl with books in her arms. Everyone watched as the nerd stood before the celebrity. Moreover what she said next shocked everyone.
"Get off the hood, idiot." Everybody gasped and watched intensely at the two. "and next time don't call me during class."
Carson jumped off the hood and stood in front of Brooke with a stoic look. The two stayed like that for a few good seconds as if they were communicating, when Carson's face softened and smiled. She took the books Brooke had been holding and placed them into her car before opening the passenger's door for her. Brooke slid in and Carson closed the door before running to the driver's side.
Before they drove off, however, Brooke grabbed a fistful of Carson's shirt and pulled her in for a kiss. The two broke apart soon after and they were smiling foolishly as if they were the only ones in the world, before driving away.
All anyone could think was wow. The nerd, Brooke Johnson was dating, the Carson Boyce.
