His Ending

So, in case you haven't figured it out yet, I've got some issue with deleting Deku. I don't know why, but it's just... interesting. To see all the ways it could play out. Especially Bakugou. Anyways, enjoy! And I promise, I write stuff that isn't angst. Just... not very often. - CiCi

867 Words.

Tsu wasn't entirely sure why the league had attacked. She wasn't sure why Bakugou and Midoriya had known about it beforehand. She wasn't sure why Toru had gone with them as they left, whatever their mission was completed. She wasn't sure why she was still awake, when everyone else was out for the count. Though they'd wake later. She wasn't sure why the students were scattered out in small groups, just out of sightline from one another. She wasn't sure.

She found herself wandering the desolate battlefield. Her attempts to rouse Mr. Aizawa from his slumber had proven futile, so she hadn't tried to wake anyone else. The pods of unconscious students probably should've bothered her more, but she was just... numb. It was like her emotions had left. She numb to the world. Just... wandering.

A loud argument drifted over the hill in front of Tsu. It sounded like... Todoroki. But who was he yelling at? It didn't seem... in his character to argue with such a loud voice. Who could've gotten him this angry?

She reached the top of the hill just in time to see Todoroki shoot ice at Bakugou's head, knocking the boy out in one fell swoop. Oh. That made sense, he was angry at Bakugou. Wait, why?

Todoroki couldn't believe that Bakugou had lost him. How? Where? Where could he have gone that Bakugou would lose sight of? The dual teen couldn't stand his excuses anymore, and just... shot ice at him. If it meant he could get past and go look for him, it was worth it. Well, that was until he noticed his classmate at the top of the hill.

That probably didn't look great. Especially considering that villains had just attacked them. Or were they still attacking? He didn't know. He just knew that he needed to go. To search for him. To find reassurance he hadn't been caught up in fighting a villain.

"Oh. Hey, Asui," Todoroki stated blandly. His emotion was covered by his dim tone. He'd always been good at that. Covering up his emotions. Putting up a disinterested face. Even when he probably shouldn't. Like right now.

"Todoroki. Everything alright? Kero," Tsu queried, a dark under sight in her tone. A slight sign of emotional lack.

"Yeah. You? Is the league still here?" He responded, lacking the care his words showed.

"I'm alright. The league left, kero. Mentioned something about how they'd 'completed their mission' or something. I'm not sure what that means, though," The frog girl responded, "I've been wandering the battlefield for a while now. You're the only other I've seen up and moving. Aside from Toru, but she left with the league for some reason."

"Have you seen Midoriya?" The half and half boy quipped. He still couldn't believe Bakugou had managed to lose the boy. But if Tsu had been wandering around, maybe she'd seen him?

"Actually, no, I haven't. With you and Bakugou here, Midoriya's the only one I haven't seen," Tsu had simply put. She'd seen the rest of the class out in little groups, but not the broccoli boy.

Upon hearing her words, Todoroki raced off in the direction Bakugou had come from. He'd be over there, he knew. Well, he hoped. That villain, Dabi, he remembered, had mentioned something about the greenette. What it was, he wasn't sure. But he'd told Bakugou not to let him out of his sight after that. And he'd reluctantly agreed. But no, he lost him. Of course he would.

Todoroki raced past the trees lining the area. They were the only trees in the area. The three boys had run into there when the villains first arrived, hoping for cover. However, it only provided separation. Dabi had shown up, and lured Bakugou and Midoriya away, while keeping him there. These villains were more skilled than they knew.

Up there, that's where the trees shed into the grassy plains that covered the rest of the area. That's where he needed to go. How he knew, he wasn't sure. But the small scratches and scorch marks on the trees heading in that direction assured him it was the right route.

Upon bursting out of the trees, Todoroki let out an anguished cry he didn't know he had in him. His eyes rested upon the form laying in pooling crimson.

Midoriya Izuku's still figure lay there, multiple stab wounds evident through his stained clothing. His eyes held a ghostly fear, the usual vibrant green now dulled, faded out, and missing that normal bright spark in them. They, as the rest of him was, were lifeless. An unmoving, departed gaze, pointed straight up, unseeing to the world.

It broke him. To see the cheerful boy sat there, in a puddle of his own blood. The boy who had taught him so much. That his quirk wasn't his father's, it was his. That it was okay to show emotions around others. That people did always expect him to win at everything. But here he was. Inanimate, for the rest of time.

For it had been the league's mission to dispose of him. The successor to One for All. And they had succeeded.

They had succeeded.
