Everyone was tense.

Everyone was fighting.

Why?

News spread that Nightmare committed suicide, but no evidence was produced, causing confusion to spread about. 

Just what happened that caused him to commit suicide?

Cross and Dream fought over this for days on end, straining their relationship to the point they decided to do a temporary split so they could rest and find peace.

"Have you found any info?" Fell sipped his coffee and looked at Science's computer screen.

"No, not yet." Science lifted his glasses and continued to look at the screen. "By any chance, did you see Nightmare on the day he died?" 

"Well... no, not really." Fell recalled. "Why?"

He pointed to the computer screen. There was a conversation between Nightmare and Lynx before he died.

"Lynx...? But... strange." Fell considered.

"Lemme check." Science tapped on the keyboard and searched for Lynx Mochi's location.

"Here. At the same building Nightmare fell from-" Science's eyesockets widened.

"Oh my god we have to go!!" Science stood up.

They saw the young girl stand there, on a chair, ready to jump. Her braids were no longer braids, but rough cuts, seemingly someone cut her hair. 

"LYNX!" they cried. 

"...Go away." this child was more mature than her age, so why would she do something so... irrational? 

"Lynx, if something is bothering you, why don' t you tell us?" Fell soothed.

"...I can't... I can't just 'tell someone' and expect everything to be alright!" she turned to look at them.

"...What is it?" Science asked.

"Kagerou has cancer, and there's no more hope for him. I had him euthanized the day Nightmare died..." she looked down.

"..." they looked at her. 

She had her brother euthanized...

"I don't want him to be all alone up there. I... I'm going to join him." she moved even closer. "And... I'm sorry... I caused Nightmare's death."

"Please... tell us what happened!" Fell pleaded.

"One that day, I decided to go because I felt nothing was worth living for anymore. I had no one but my brother, but HE's gone as well. I have nothing to live for. So I wanted to go... but... Nightmare came to stop me. I don't know how it happened, but he pulled my arm... and... he fell." 

"...Lynx, Nightmare gave you a chance to live." Fell spoke up. "He sacrificed himself to tell you even though your brother's gone, you still have something to live for! You feel guilty for this, but if you really feel you owe your life to him, please keep living to show him his efforts aren't wasted!!" 

"Even if you jump you won't bring them back... and Kagerou has Nightmare watching over him now. They will wait, and they can wait until the time is right for you to come to them. So please... do this for THEM."

She turned to look at them.
