Lynx's grey pupils were thin like the cat's. Nightmare stood there, reaching out to her.

"Hey, Cat..." he cooed. She stared at him, her eyes cold as ice. 

"I-it's me, remember? Your best friend." he attempted. She couldn't tell what he was. Her vision was blurry. 

"Cat, I'm here... It's me, it's Marey." she seemed to listen. A memory flashed before her. Dream shot by her Aura Beast blast. She reeled back. "Dream." she murmured. The dark being chuckled. "Ah yes. You got his brother, but you won't miss again, right?" 

"It's not your fault." Nightmare trembled. It wasn't. They forced her to hurt Dream.

"They made you do it. You'd never hurt him." Nightmare forced back a sob. He needed her right now.

"And... you'd never hurt me." He reached closer. She felt a warm presence. Someone she knows. 

Someone she cares for. 

"Ree." she said, her voice soft. 

"Yeah, it's me." Nightmare reached until he cupped her cheek. "Your best friend."

"Marey." she gasped. He realized her eyes were normal again.

"Lynx! It's ok! I'm here!" he cried. 

Lynx giggled. "Marey!"

He smiled. 

She remembered him.
