In my once upon a time,

Two princes lived in peace,

One was to protect nightmares,

And one protected dreams,

Older brother so depressed,

And constantly picked on,

Younger brother always loved,

For all that he had done,

One day Nightmare had a plan,

And he went to the Tree,

He wanted to prove to them,

He could be just like Dream,

Took an apple from Dream's side,

It instantly went dark,

And this caught him by surprise,

It matched his broken heart, 

Realized it far too late,

He'll never be like Dream,

Apples of the dark he ate,

Then came a wailing scream,

It had come that dark, dark day,

Oh how his brother cried,

To keep their hope and dreams safe, 

Nightmare's sacrifice,

I am so sorry Dream,

If you can hear me now,

Hope you're in there safe and sound,
