For @JeonKimHa ❤️
Just a small reminder. I'm not an atiny. I do follow their title tracks and I know the members but I don't know enough to write a one shot. I wrote this in multiple sittings so it might not be amazing. Work is hectic and I'm sorry for using it as an excuse.
I do hope you enjoy this ❤️

Y/n huffed in anger and went to the library looking for a romantic book which will take her to a fantasy world. After searching for a while she found a book and luckily or not it was on the top shelf. She rolled her eyes at her luck before tip toeing to get a book.
And like every other romance story she felt a strong presence behind her. Someone stood close to her and reached out for a book on the top shelf. Y/n turned around with a poker face and met with the boy's chest.
"You don't need to thank me." The boy smirked before stepping back to give her some space.
Y/n faked a smile and walked to another aisle only to get the box stairs. She stepped on it to reach the top shelf and got the book she had her eyes on.
"I don't need a man to get me a book."
With a scoff she went to the librarian to get it stamped and left the library. She took a deep sigh before walking towards her class. What a day.
"Y/n! Wait!"
The boy from before held her shoulders to stop her from leaving.
"What is it Yeosang?"
Yeosang gave her a sorry smile. "You know I didn't mean to do that right?" He then scratched his head with a doubtful look not knowing how his best friend would react to his apology.
Y/n sighed, giving up midway. She wanted to shout at him for making her wait for forty five minutes at the movies only to message that he scored a date with the school's most popular girl, Hwang Yeji.
Yeosang felt bad for what he did but he didn't expect her to wait for such a long time (ITS HWANG YEJI!), "I'm sorry Y/n-ah. I won't do it again." Then like a light bulb an idea clicked his mind.
"What if I.." he raised his eye brows increasing the girl's expectation as she waited for him to continue. His evil smile was scaring her to some extent. "What if you what?"
"What if I set you up on a date with Wooyoung sunbae?! Wouldn't that be amazing!"
He cheered loudly attracting attention. Y/n stepped on his foot, "sh! Why do you have to shout?!"
"Umm.. that.." she pretended to think and make it seem like she wasn't that desperate by casually flipping her hair back. But Yeosang knew better. He had a known teasing smile on his face. He knew it would be a yes but he still continued to poke her.
"It will be a golden opportunity you know."
"Oh well.. fine by me. This Saturday. Cafe Brew. Four pm."
Yeonsang let out a chuckle as Y/n left coolly even though he knew that her heart was beating loudly even at the thought of Wooyoung sunbae.
She is cute.
.
.
.
"Not this!"
Y/n threw away the dress to the side to look at other clothes sprawled across the bed and the whole room. She wanted to look good for the date. She wanted to impress her senior. "What am I gonna do now?!"
She hastily picked up her phone to video call Yeosang. "What?" He casually replied. He was still in the bed half asleep.
"Yeosang! Help! Tell me what to wear!" Y/n turned the camera in the other direction to let him know what she had at the moment. Yeosang tried to focus on the screen which showed all sorts of dresses but his eyes went to the time on top of the screen.
"It's three already?! Shoot I'm late!"
"What happened?" Y/n asked worriedly hoping that it isn't something serious.
"I have to meet Yeji in thirty minutes. Shoot shoot. I don't want her to wait! I'm leaving."
And just like that he hung up leaving her angry and panicked and disappointed. Y/n sat on the bed defeatedly. Half of her mind thought about the dress while the other half thought about Yeosang's date.
Things are escalating quickly between them. I didn't know that Yeji was interested in him. She didn't seem like it. And when did he even muster up the courage to talk to her?
Wait. I'm getting late too!
She finally made up her mind and picked up a pair of jeans and crop top. After getting ready she walked to the cafe. From the window she could see her crush waiting for her.
Wooyoung sunbae is so sexy. I should really calm down myself. I don't want to make a fool of myself, especially in front of him.
But before she entered the cafe she took out her phone to message Yeosang.
Me: is your date going well?
With one final deep breath Y/n went inside. Wooyoung recognised her in an instant. He smiled at her and stood up to greet her properly.
"Hello Y/n. I'm Wooyoung."
His smile was precious and beautiful that y/n forgot to breathe for a moment. Her heart was screaming but like always she maintained a calm exterior.
"Hello sunbae. It's nice to meet you."
They took their seats and began having a causal conversation about school and the times they saw or greeted each other in the hallways. Y/n kept looking at her phone screen expecting it to light up anytime soon. Why isn't he replying? Is he that busy?
"You are always next to Yeosang."
"It ain't like that."
"You know I saw you first when.." he told her his point of view when he saw her for the first time last year.
"I'm surprised you noticed me that much." Y/n said while Wooyoung laughed it off.
"It wasn't like that. It's hard to forget a pretty face like that."
Charming. That's the word people used for him. You can never get out of his charms. The way he used certain words to captivate people's hearts worked to his advantage all the time.
But it wasn't working on y/n. She thought that something might be wrong with her because she knew that Wooyoung is an amazing person and it's hard to not fall for him. She tried focusing on his words and stories but her eyes drifted to a couple at the back.
Her mind wandered off to Yeonsang's date. She was imagining him having a nice time with Yeji which made her uneasy for some reason. She just wanted to run away from there.
"And then-" Wooyoung stooped talking when he saw y/n focusing on the table and not his conversation. He grew flustered.
Wait. Aren't my charms working? A little pout adorned his pretty lips thinking about any other way to get her attention back. But nothing seemed to work for a long time. She will smile at him and talk for a moment and then drift off to a thought unknown to him.
"You have a crush on your best friend."
"No!" Y/n shrieked a little louder than intended, "how can you say that? Ew! We are just good friends and nothing else. Wow sunbae your imagination is running wild." She then sipped her hot coffee burning her tongue.
Wooyoung passed her a tissue before giving her a confused look. "Are you okay?"
"Yes I am. Why?!" She huffed a little and looked away.
"Because I don't think I deserved to be yelled at for asking about your favourite movie." The confused and flustered look on his face was still there.
"What movie?"
"I asked you about your favourite movie and you yelled at me. Are you okay?"
"Oh." Y/n looked down at her fingers wanting to hit her own head for imagining such things. Embarrassment was all over her face. She wasn't sure if she would be able to face him again at school.
"I should go. It was nice meeting you." Y/n stood up ready to leave. Wooyoung offered her to walk her home but she politely refused his offer.
She slowly slowly sped up her walk to run. She was a little excited and breathless. She wasn't sure if she had feelings for Yeosang or not. But whatever she was feeling it was exciting and thrilling.
She wanted to check for herself if she had any feelings for him. Though she had no idea how.
Her fast feet brought her to Yeosang's apartment. She met his mother at the main gates. "Oh y/n. How are you dear?"
"Hello! Where is Yeosang? It's an emergency!" The lady chuckled a little, "he is at home."
"Ok bye!" Y/n rushed to the apartment. The closer she was the more butterflies she felt at the thought of seeing him. She just wanted to see him at the moment. Talk to him. Ask him about his day. Or whatever. Just see him.
Her running feet came to a stop. She stood a metre away from her bestie and the girl he was with. They were smiling at each other, hand in hand.
It's okay. They are just holding hands. Yeosang and I do that all the time. Let me talk to him.
Things turned to slow motion when she saw Yeji lean forward to peck his lips. Y/n stood there all confused. Her feelings were a mess. So she did what she had to. She left. She kept those mess of a feelings in her heart and simply left for her home.
I'll sort out my feelings before I do anything else.
After reaching home and having dinner with her family she laid down on her bed and thought about all the things that happened.
I ruined my date with Wooyoung sunbae because I was restlessly thinking about Yeosang. I wish for the earth to swallow me.
Second, I was irritated by the thought of Yeosang having a nice time with another girl. Even the ides of him smiling and laughing with someone who is better than me made me mad.
Third, he might be a thing with Yeji now.
Fourth, even if I do have feelings for me I don't stand a chance because he might not like the idea of dating his bestie.
Was it all because he was always with her that she never realised her own feelings? Or is it because she is scared to lose her best friend?
Do I like him? Or am I scared to lose my bestie? Do I?
Her phone buzzed pulling her out of her thoughts.
Yeosang: mom told me you came by. Is everything cool?
Me: yeah. Wanted to talk to you about our dates but then I bumped into Mingi
Yeosang: -_- mingi is on a trip -_-
Y/n sat straight on her bed and hit her head multiple times. "I'm so stupid. I'm so stupid." She chanted the words before her phone buzzed again.
She dropped the phone on her thighs when she saw that Yeosang was video calling. She cleared her throat and picked it up.
"What?"
Yeosang was lying down on his bed with a blanket covering his naked torso. He was smirking at the screen. "What?" Y/n asked again. Irritation evident in her tone.
"Tell me the truth. You saw Yeji kiss me right?"
He didn't lose any opportunity to tease her. "Yeah I did. I didn't want to disturb you guys so I left." Y/n sounded serious.
Yeosang expected her to be embarrassed or flustered but her serious and straight tone worried him, "your date didn't go well I suppose."
"It didn't..."
All playfulness was gone in his tone. He was worried for his best friend. He sat properly, making sure to cover himself well. But then his worried stance changed to protective one.
"Ya! Did he say something or did something to you? Tell me! I'll go over to his place right now and beat the shit out of him! What happened?!"
Y/n smiled. She was happy to have him by her side. She knew that she could always count on him. He is one of those people who will always be there for her.
I shouldn't be greedy. I should just be grateful that he is next to me. He may not like me that way and it's fine. I'd rather him by my side as a friend than lose him because of my stupid feelings.
"Aye. It isn't that serious. Wooyoung sunbae treated me well it's just ... I don't think I'll fall for him. One date was enough."
"You sure?" He asked as he raised his brow.
"Yeah yeah I'm sure." Y/n sounded causal to be more believable. She put those thoughts aside and decided to be her normal self.
"Now you tell me about your date! How was it? You kissed her." She asked curiously like a best friend would. She was dying to know the details. Yeosang just laughed it off.
"Aye. It was nothing. We just kissed because it was a date. We are not seeing each other."
"Huh?!"
Both of them talked about their dates and slowly drifted off to their usual conversations till y/n felt sleepy.
"You should sleep or else you would be late for tomorrow."
"Yeah.." y/n yawned ready to hang up. "Goodnight Yeosang."
"Goodnight y/n."
Is it my imagination or does his Goodnight sound different tonight? His tone was gentle and sweet. It sounded so calm and soothing.
Yeosang hung up and lied down again. He looked at his phone wallpaper. A picture of him with y/n.
Flashback
Yeji leaned forward to gently press her lips against him. Yeosang was taken aback by her sudden move. It took him a while to pull himself back. He created a small distance between them.
"Oh I'm sorry." Yeji apologised and stepped back, "I really enjoyed the date and thought that you would be feeling the same."
Yeosang felt bad for her, "I had fun too but.. I don't like you that way. Sorry for leading you on."
"No no. You didn't mislead me. I read you wrong. My bad. I hope we won't be awkward with each other at school." Yeji laughed it off to hide her embarrassment.
"Of course not. Thankyoi for spending some time with me." Yeji bid her byes before leaving.
Flashback over
Yeosang was still looking at his wallpaper with a sad smile on his face.
"I'm happy to have you as my best friend. I don't want to ruin what we have. I'll gladly put my feelings aside if it means that I get to see you everyday."
