Rainy day
The room was dark, and the rain patterd against the window.
In the corner, sat Alex. Wrapped up in a blanket shivering. He was afraid of the rain, becuase it brought back memories of the storm.
He was a major in law, and his roommate was in his room listening to music, unaware of the frightened man. All Alex could do was quiver and hope he didn't panic to much.
He was a arrogant man, picked fights and was always drowned in work and coffee. Never getting much sleep, or socializing for that matter.
He's to embarrassed and ashamed for his roommate to find him in such conditions, like being afraid of just rain. Thunder boomed, and a quick loud gasp escaped from his mouth. He put his hand to his mouth, muffling cries as tears now streamed from his eyes.
"Nonononononono."
"God please no..." His voice cracked, as his eyes filled more tears. His hands were shaking, and the rain picked up. Breaths were becoming ragged, and quiet sobs were getting louder. He dug his nails into his arms, and shut his eyes tight.
"It's fine honey, we're not gonna die." Rachael whispered to her son, as the small boy hugged his dear mom.
"Im scared mommy... "
"Shh... I've got you Lexi, no need to be scared."
Her soft touch calmed the small boy somewhat. But it didn't make the roaring rain stop anytime soon. It was picking up, and winds were blowing, moving the house ever so slightly. As if it was rocking a baby.
The tension was quiet, yet loud.
All you could here was the loud rain, and breathing of the boy and his mom.
Hoping and wishing they survive another day...
Alex sat there with flashbacks flooding in. One after another, and his breathing was becoming more ragged.
"H-help." He choked out. Tears flowing down from his eyes more and more.
"H-help... Im s-scared." He said a bit louder, hoping his roommate will hear. He didn't care at this point if he was seen like this, right now he just wanted a hug and someone to tell him "your ok".
Thunder then roared, causing Alex to full on scream now. He pulled the blanket over his head and clutched it crying.
Then a pair of hands lifted the blanket up.
Alex lifted his head to meet the eyes of John Laurens.
He was taken back a bit, and flinched.
"Permission to hug you?" His southern voice said, and he nodded slowly.
John put his arms around the smaller man, and pulled him for a hug.
"Your okay dude. I got you." He whispers, rocking Alex back and forth slowly.
Alex breathing was slowly becoming normal, and his heart rate was becoming normal as well. His head was pounding, but he ignored it, leaning on the other man's chest, closing his eyes.
"Everything is ok."
